I designed a new poster for CHARUN, inspired by a photo I took in "Su Stani Saliu", a wetland located in southern Sardinia. In spring and autumn the pond is affected by the presence of several species of birds including ducks, waders,  gulls, avocets, egrets and pink flamingos. This photo has been taken in august, when the pond is entirely dry and dead. Super happy to come back playing at UTOPIE - Tra cinema e paesaggi sonori, a great festival in Cagliari (Italy) with December Hung Himself.  Last year we played Orchidegartneren by Lars Von Trier, this time - Dec 15th, 9pm at May Mask (Cagliari, Italy) - we’ll play on Kurutta Ippeji, a japanese masterpiece. Can’t wait.

I recently enjoyed recording and mixing this album by Valerio Marras, guitar player from the bands Thank U For Smoking and Charun. Then it has been mastered by mr.James Plotkin (Sunn O))), Aidan Baker, Isis, etc.). “Four Movements Of A Shade” is the second solo album by SARRAM. It features four haunting tracks, that move through different genres like doom, drone, ambient and somehow minimal post-rock, played with just a guitar and some synths. The idea behind that album was to go to the studio without having tracks: just an idea and the mood SARRAM had in mind to play an improvisational session.The result was recorded in one day at Blacktooth Studio by Nicola Olla and it turned out as a very dark and intense sound journey. You can feel the temper of the recording session by listening to the four tracks of this record.SARRAM recommends very loud volume for listening and yes we do that, too. The mastering by James Plotkin brings out all the details of the tracks, like maximum crackling of loud distorted parts but also the very quiet whispering of the guitar strings.If you like artists like Sunn O))), Aidan Baker, N and Barn Owl, you will love this record.“Four Movements Of A Shade” comes in edition of 200 copies housed in a black 4 panel sleeve with stunning black and white graphic artwork by Claudio Spanu.“

Charun’s started as a solo project of mine, then became a proper band in 2013. We recorded and released the ep STIGE in 2015, then we came back in studio in 2017 to record a full length. Charun’s last album “Mundus Cereris” has been released in february 2018 by the uk based label Third-i-Rex. I’ve recorded and mixed it. Hope you enjoy.

Perseidi is the last album released by December Hung Himself, and it has a very clear, very narrow conceptual focus: the annual Perseids meteor shower as seen from Sardinia. The music found on this release can be described as dark ambient, or it can be described as soundtrack music. I did guitars, bass, synth, drum programming, glockenspiels and some other instrument I’ve surely forgot. Plus recorded, mixed and designed both the digital and tape issue of the album, released then by the english label Personal Escape Records.
