Child sexual abuse is a form of child abuse that includes sexual activity with a minor. A child cannot consent to any form of sexual activity, period. When a perpetrator engages with a child this way, they are committing a crime that can have lasting effects on the victim for years. Promotion of personal safety among children, child protection policies in schools and increased awareness of parents are essential to prevent sexual abuse of children. Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation’s ongoing Justice For Every Child campaign is aimed at ensuring timely justice and mental health support to victims of child sexual abuse and rape across the country to enable them to heal and continue their lives with dignity and freedom.

Essential Elements At The Heart Of Bal Mitra Gram
There is minimal need for justification in the struggle against the scourge of child labour. Children are caught in a culture where they have no freedom of movement or choice and live as vagrants far from the centre of society. Their existence is monotonous and cramped to the extreme. Their daily routines are constantly changing. The Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) is a symbol of the campaigns against child labour and for universal education. As the leader of the initiative to free slave children from the most isolated village in India and as the coordinator of the Global March Against Child Labor in 103 countries, BBA has a history of 25 years of activism. After being started by a small number of people, the Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) has grown into a network of over 764 non-governmental organisations (NGOs), trade unions, human rights organisations, etc. that are all committed to the complete abolition of child labour.
Child labour is a contributing factor to poverty, illiteracy, and even a lack of human security as well as one of its effects. The most prevalent types of child labour include domestic work, child prostitution, bonded labour, and child trafficking. The bulk of these kids are employed in the agriculture industry, carpet weaving, brick kilns, mining, glass manufacturers, and other formal and unofficial sectors.
A Bal Mitra Gram or Child Friendly Village’s core components include several crucial components:

How To Stop Child Trafficking In India?
India is frequently seen as a source, destination, and transit country for human trafficking. It remains very challenging to obtain accurate data, a complete picture of the numbers, and an understanding of how big the problem has become. A study has determined that the problem of child trafficking affects nearly 400 regions in India. Additionally, it is thought that 90% of trafficking takes place internally, with the victims being subjected to forced labour. Children who are victims of trafficking are exploited in a variety of ways, including being made to work as domestic servants, beggars, and industrial and agricultural labourers. The vulnerability of a girl to trafficking is greater.

Child marriage is driven by poverty and has many effects on girls' health: increased risk for sexually transmitted diseases. If you hear about a child marriage happening in your school or neighbourhood, you can tell your nearest panchayat, closest police station, a nearby charity that works for children or your local leaders, representatives or MLAs. These adults have a responsibility to stop a child marriage happening. Child marriage negatively affects the Indian economy and can lead to an intergenerational cycle of poverty. A BMG™ thus creates a safety net around children to promote education and prevent child marriage.

Trafficking is where children and young people tricked, forced or persuaded to leave their homes and are moved or transported and then exploited, forced to work or sold. Trafficked children experience many types of abuse and neglect. Traffickers use physical, sexual and emotional abuse as a form of control. Children and young people are also likely to be physically and emotionally neglected and may be sexually exploited. Trafficking occurs all over the world, though the most common forms of trafficking can differ by country.  The United States is one of the most active sex trafficking countries in the world, where exploitation of trafficking victims occurs in cities, suburban and rural areas.

It is a tool for children to demand their right to be safe, to receive quality education, to access government services and schemes, and to break the systemic barriers of oppression and injustice. It works towards preventing child exploitation such as child trafficking, child labour and child marriage right at its source along with addressing other cross-cutting issues of education, child sexual abuse, water, sanitation, hygiene and livelihood. The Bal Mitra Gram model ensures every child is free, safe and educated. Healthy development in the early years (particularly birth to three) provides the building blocks for educational achievement, economic productivity, responsible citizenship, lifelong health, strong communities, and successful parenting of the next generation.

We are deeply concerned about the alarming rise in human trafficking in India. Every day, we hear painful stories of people being abducted, trafficked and forced into labor or sexual exploitation and we stand with the government in this fight. Together we can make a difference.

KSCF'S STRUGGLE TOWARDS ENDING CHILD TRAFFICKING IN INDIA
Tumblr media
The UN Office of Drugs Control and Crime Prevention describes child trafficking as “The recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of persons, by means of threat or force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation.” Child trafficking and child security has become a major issue in a country like India. Multiple causes can be attributed to the high prevalence of human trafficking and child trafficking in India. To understand the reason behind the prevalence of child trafficking it is imperative to understand who are vulnerable to child trafficking and why does child trafficking happen in the first place.
