True love goes beyond just a word along with the intense feeling of affection that we may have toward a particular person or a thing in life. Meaning that we simply love those who love us, love those things which make us happy, those who are related to us, along with those who have treated us well. It’s of great importance that we do a self-examination by asking ourselves that question do we really love others as we are supposed to do so? There’s no doubt about the fact that everyone has come short in that regard. The good news is that we can take the matter in hand by letting God dismantle the very barriers that may serve as an impediment when it comes down to loving others both unconditionally and sacrificially. Focus on the LORD A surrendered life is all about trust. It is trusting that God has your best interests at heart. It is trusting that His Word can be believed and taken at face value. It is trusting that all of your needs will be met. Surrender takes the focus off of self and places it upon Christ, and is demonstrated by obedience. Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California, writes, "Surrender is not the best way to live; it is the only way to live. Nothing else works. All other approaches lead to frustration, disappointment and self-destruction."
