Webtoons that I’m currently reading

I realize that most of these are already popular, but when I look back on my posts years in the future, I’ll know what I liked to read.

The God of Highschool

I was reading that webtoon today and gradually I came to hate it. Maybe it’s the toxic comments, maybe it’s the storyline, or even both, I’ll never know. Here are some things that bother me:

The fact that Mori Jin can always beat others without much effort

While I realize that it’s part of main character syndrome, mori rarely loses. Even against Ilpyo, who knew all the weaknesses, he somehow adapted quickly and won. I know that it should be obvious that it would happen since it’s happened in many webtoons before (tower of god) but he’s never shown this ability before and he suddenly gets this out of nowhere?

God points

Seemingly out of nowhere, it stopped being a regular fight and became a sci-fi webtoon. I know that GP was there from the beginning but since it was introduced later in the webtoon, that kind of threw me off a bit.

The cancerous comments

I’ve stopped reading after about chapter 83. Most, if not all the comments support mori Jin all the time. They never take into consideration the opposing side because main character-kun can never be wrong. Ilpyso wanted to win so he could heal his friends leg again because she could not return to taekwondo. Mori wants to find his grandfather and live with him. Which one sounds more serious? Yeah the comments all hated Ilpyo which made me mad. Another one was after Ilpyo made his team weaken Mori. They all called him a coward for using backhanded techniques. There was no cowardly-ness in doing that. It was the only way he stood a chance.

The comments in the webtoon make me sick to my stomach.

How fast the webtoons goes

In the span of two chapters, female lead gets proposed to, almost married, reveals a secret plan, etc. the pacing of the webtoon in general is just horrid and it makes me tired to reread 15 recap panels in the next chapter. Also a character gets introduced and killed in the same chapter??

Mori Jin is too OP

I get that he’s the main character and all and has to be strong, he definitely doesn’t have to be the STRONGEST. That trope is something that needs to be thrown away. It was also strangely one of the things that bothered me about OPM (I still enjoyed the anime anyways) Even Bam from TOG isn’t the strongest in his webtoon (yet). Gintoki can’t beat everybody by himself. Naruto cant either. There leaves almost no room for improvement if he’s already basically at max level from the beginning.

Dry comedy

I mean I can’t nitpick this one too much because it’s an action webtoon, but the jokes are seriously overused shounen jokes you can find in a bunch of gag anime such as Saiki kusuo no psi nan, osumatsu-san, or Gintama.

Even after all this complaining, I don’t really see why I hate GOH that much, seeing that it’s pretty similar to TOG, but I just can’t read it. Sorry if this offends anybody _:(´ཀ`」 ∠):

okay so she got to the point of when i brought up like dan it phil or anybody i love, all she'll ever notice is attractiveness. all she ever talks about is boys, and i find it literally THE MOST BORING TOPIC anybody could go on about. she'd probably watch sam pepper as long as he showed his face and was remotely attractive \:

rant about possessiveness

so i finally felt comfortable enough to follow my internet friend after six months, and so naturally we commented weird stuff on each other's profile. immediately, my supposedly "best friend" literally starts CUSSING HER OUT and using racial slurs like "nigga" even though she isn't black. i told her to calm down and she texted me telling me that I was HER best friend and the purple hearts my internet friend used here only meant for her to use. she then continued to log onto my instagram and stalk all my dm conversations with her! she's been bothering me lately and sometimes i don't want to be considered to be her "best friend" anymore, even if she's popular.
