“Oh?” It was strange to hear that. Of all the responses she was expecting, it hadn’t been for the definition of a temple. A god would know that, and the divine rolling off the being was plain as day to someone as sensitive as Byakuren.

“Well, ah... I’m sorry, I apologize for being so unprepared. This is Myouren Temple... a place of worship, where people may come to study, meditate, and practice their faith in the teachings of Buddha. Here people are offered religious sanctuary and intellectual freedom to explore their own senses of self and how they perceive the universe.”

What? Ain’t you ever seen a perfectly spherical ball of fire drifting along a dirt road before? Sounds like you need to get out more, go see some sentient fireballs for yourself sometime.

Also, please do not panic at the fireball drifting casually towards you right now. It does not wish to impact its face on your body and blow up or other silly things fireballs do.

It’s important to greet all things with a smile, be they tall, short, wingless, or eldritch abominations. A fireball is fairly easy to accept, compared to that. Bowing to the sphere, Byakuren clapped her hands together.

“Namusan. Welcome to Temple Myouren, stranger. Do you need anything?”
