I borrowed this from @lunarowena because this ‘ How do you need to be loved?’ quiz seemed fun
Watcher Qurin:
Recklessly, like a horse running as fast as he can You've been told that the way you love can never last, and that heartbreak is inevitable. But you don't want to love carefully. You want to love with reckless abandon. You want to love with everything you have, and you want to be loved the same way. You don't want them to worry about tomorrow. Make today worth living for.
Inquisitor Estriel:
Carefully, like a gentle rain on dry Earth You've been left beaten down and by someone you really trusted and loved, so now love doesn't come easy for you. You want it to. You want to love and be loved, but you're not sure you remember how. So you need someone else to take the lead. They have to be gentle and sweet and patient. They have to watch out for you, and make sure youre doing okay, because most days you feel a little fragile, if not totslly shattered. But someone will come along who will put those pieces back together again.

So I realised that when overhauling my watcher’s backstory I accidentally gave her a strong in character reason to kidnap Vela.

I have a pretty clear idea of poe1 bad ending that differs from normally implied: watcher ends up in similar state as Maerwald.
I headcanon that Qurin after few visions develops a full awakening like Aloth’s. Her inquisitor Estriel is not dealing well with being conscious and alive again just to experience first-hand that Engwith is a bunch of ruins now. His first instinct is to cling to the only thing that remains familiar and that’s Thaos.
In normal version of events Qurin manages to stay in control as they develop a shaky truce, which then turns into a common understanding after revelations from the White March dlcs.
But if she didn’t manage to turn him around, or he just went into complete denial, as the watcher grows weaker, inquisitor gains more and more control, eventually completely taking over. So pretty much Thaos still alive, Woedica gets souls, “watcher” joins the Leaden Key and now we have so many options for how to make things worse for everyone. ;)
#watcher wednesday#pillars of eternity#idk if this is interesting#but it does end with pretty bad world state overall#oc: qurin#oc: estriel
