How's it going? I hope you had a great weekend and your week is going great!

Just wanted to share a quick life update and talk about our creative journeys. I've been trying to stay mindful, and one way I'm doing it is by journaling and creating this weekly newsletter, I hope I can maintain this. It's a bit of a challenge, but it's helping me reflect. What about you? How do you stay mindful?

My weekend started with a change of pace – journaling. It had been a while since I enjoyed this simple pleasure, a break from my usual drawing activities. The combination of journaling and a cup of coffee was pure happiness.

Come Saturday afternoon, I found myself at Wereldcafe, ready to join the Shut Up and Write group. This group has become a cherished part of my life ever since I first arrived in Belgium last year. I proudly consider myself one of its first members, and I've created meaningful friendships along the way. Our Saturdays were dedicated to one sacred hour of uninterrupted writing. For me, it was a chance to craft my social media content and, now, my Patreon and blog posts as well.

Upcoming Vlog

I'm gearing up to release a new YouTube video, showcasing a timelapse of one of my current traditional art pieces for Peachtober. In the pipeline, there's also a digital artwork feature slated for the following week. Amidst juggling client commissions and personal projects, I'm diligently organizing my content for the week.

Peachtober Progress

I'm thrilled to see the positive response on my social media as I continue daily Peachtober postings. The challenge is a blast, and while I hope to complete all the prompts, the journey itself has been a joy so far.

Anticipating Folktale Week

Even though Peachtober is still in full swing, I can't help but notice the growing excitement around Folktale Week. I'm itching to dive into this challenge later this month. Are any of you planning to join in? Or perhaps, there's another challenge you're looking forward to?

Thoughts lately

Last week, I found myself stressing over work and life. I felt I wasn't doing enough for my creative goals. I'm currently swamped with client work, which I'm grateful for, but I'm also putting too much pressure on my social media presence, and I'm not sure why. Ultimately, I'm seeking fulfillment and genuine connections. I don't know where this path will lead, but I'm curious to find out. Do you ever feel the same way?

I want to share another story my mother told me before going to sleep when I was a kid.

✨Long time ago the clouds used to be on the ground, and people can sleep on them and even put stuff on them.

✨Back then people used mortar and pestle to pound and separate husks from the grain, or to mash sweet potatoes.

✨Every time they pound, the clouds slowly went higher and higher. And there is this woman who put all her jewels around the clouds. She didn’t notice that they could keep going higher and higher until it was too late, the clouds were very high to reach. Eventually, the jewels scattered and they became the stars.
