You’ve lived a lifetime of racing down the same few dusty, sunny tracks across California. You take home your first place ribbons and champion trophies after every race. No team, no coach. Just you, the track, and the starting lights. Until now.

You’ve finally found your team, and you’re preparing for the season of your life. Five circuits across the planet, through the United States to Australia, all for the grand prize at the finish line.

And yet, as you’re thrust into the position of one of the top drivers in the world, you’re faced with the new life that comes with it. Fame, luxury, rivalries between drivers, even love is always right behind your races, and though you know you can’t let yourself slip now, you know nothing will be as simple as those sunny California circuits ever again.

A customisable main character, with pronouns, physical appearance, personality, and public persona on and off the track all up to you and your choices throughout the story. Play through lightning fast races across the world (along the track and otherwise), and make key choices that will impact your standings throughout the season.

Choose between 4 romance options - fall in and out of love with the other driver on your team, your rival on the track, your team's head engineer, or the sponsor heiress who's taken a liking to you.

Nicholas/Nadine Spade [RO, gender selectable] - The other driver on your new team, nicked "The Blade" and loved by many. N has been racing for nearly as long as you have, along the searing tracks of Miami with an effortless talent. Always finding a way to twist the situation into a witty joke and a laugh, they quickly establish themself as someone to trust among the chaos that is your new life as a top racer.

Roman Gray [RO, he/him] - Your rival on the track. Gray came from the same neighbourhood as you, and you've raced alongside him since your very first competition. But he's no longer that young boy, left grinning with adrenaline after every circuit. No, now he's hungry for that prize with a stern drive that wont let whatever friendship you had get in the way of, and faces you only with stone cold glares and ridiculously tough competition.

Sadie/Spencer Monroe [RO, gender selectable] - Your head engineer, a failed aspiring racer with a silent but deadly disposition. S designed your car from the wheels up, with one goal: to win. To win in a way they couldn't on the track themself, despite knowing everything there is to know about the sport. S has high expectations for you and N, and they're not one to disappoint.

Carmen Caddel [RO, she/her] - Heiress to one of your biggest sponsor companies. Carmen grew up in the lifestyle of fame and luxury, and handles it with such grace and poise that shows in every paparazzi photo and every interview. With her guiding you through the press conferences and afterparties, it should be easy to maintain the public image you're intended to keep. Right?

Project DARK is an 18+ character-driven SPY IF inspired by a rather eventful weekend binging on Mission Impossible movies. It can be described as Suicide Squad meets Mission Impossible. MC, a retired villain, will be a new operative in a team to bring down their old best friend.

You were a jewel thief and hired mercenary, outsourcing your skills at thievery and espionage for all types of...shady characters. Yeah, you were aiding in the possible destruction of the world in exchange for money, but details, right?

You were the best in the business alongside your partner, Spider. You're not supposed to get close to people in this business, but Spider somehow weaseled into your life and became your best friend.

But then they died, killed by operatives of Mission Shadow, the one organization that has been hunting you down since day one. You decided to retire, changing your name and identity in an attempt to make an honest and private life of what you have left.

Until Project DARK finds you.

Project DARK: an experiment to put the most together the most skilled shadow villains to train and defeat the biggest threat they've faced.

THE TARGET | Spider [m or f]: your old best friend and the new target. They've been busy since their 'death' and have grown a network of connections that can dismantle the world as you know it. They're apparently planning something big. Big enough that the organizations of the world created Project DARK to take them down.

Special romance: can have had previous thing with them that was never confronted or simply have been best friends.

THE LEADER | Elias/Elena Steel: one of the best operatives, personally recommended by MI6. The only non-villain on the team, E is also appointed leader and doesn't like you much, considering the fact that a mission of yours ended with their closest partner dead. While you may have not pulled the trigger, E blames you all the same.

Strict and as cold as steel, it makes sense why E is the one with the team on their shoulders.

Special romance: enemies to lovers. E hates your guts.

THE SECOND IN COMMAND | Nick/Nina Sharma: second-in-command and a retired illegal weapons dealer, N is, surprisingly, E's closest friend. N has long given up that life, but before their new work as a operative, you knew them as a distant associate. You two have crossed paths on multiple occasions, most of them happening with them almost killing you or vice versa. N can't help but be nice, but you can tell they're not really a fan of you.

Special romance: may have had a lapse in judgement and have had a one night stand...or multiple.

THE BRAINS | Zane/Zena Omari: One of the most skilled hackers and a familiar face on the FBIs most wanted list, Z is on the team in order to be able to go back home without getting arrested. Oddly enough, they're not what the media says they are. Friendly, warm, comedic. Z seems to be having too much of a good time, even with the circumstances surrounding their presence.

THE WEAPONS EXPERT | Luca/Lucia Cruz: L doesn't know you much, and doesn't care to. Hyper-focused on the mission, L's disinterest in you is a breath of fresh air. You don't know what they did and how they got here, but you do know they were facing a life sentence. Still, things aren't always what they seem.

Maybe it won't stay that way.

I'm sorry for the disappearance, a lot of stuff has been happening that's been taking me away from development of Cyprus lately. Just know that I have absolutely not ditched the project and I am working on it as we speak. I plan for the next update to be a lot bigger than I had originally anticipated, especially with the porting to twine, so it might take a little bit on top of everything else that's going on, but I will try to get more updates out as I go. Agent Beck is the Seven of Body Double: former/former partner and optional lover-ish/or good friend...hasn't spoken to the agent in a long time but joins in finding them with MC nice nice (they will still have feelings for the agent//they were dumped lols) (basically they too are a loser #sevencore)

Hawke,,, an enhanced human who is hunting the agent (mc now) down...

the ros on sloppy makeouts?

Adonis - Most likely to do it after seeing MC after a really long time apart. Sort of the type of kiss where both MC and Adonis crash together in a sort of hug-kiss where hands are tight around waists and shoulders and teeth clash and there's just a need to be close to one another.

Aphrodite - Most likely to do it when MC and her are both super giddy off of having done something rebellious for whatever reason. She'll put her all into that kiss, arms limp around shoulders and smile on her lips. Even when the kiss is sloppy, there's something still light and airy and freeing there.

Hermes - Hermes would do it on a day without any duties to Olympus, lounging somewhere with MC. That lazy feeling fuels a that messy passion and he'll lean over for a sloppy kiss. Hands pressing into hips, in hair, probably one of the firmest sloppy kisses out of this list.

Teledice - Nope. Her kisses can be passion fuelled, hard or soft, but never sloppy.

Zephyrus - Oddly enough, the first thing that comes to mind is a situation in which Zephyrus almost loses MC. Like, full on panic and then he sees them and it all gushes out. Tears streaming down his face and to your lips, his breath in MC's mouth. Mostly desperate.

What type of sleeping positions do the ROs enjoy when sharing a bed with MC?

Adonis - Little spoon ♡♡♡ As much as Adonis doesn't want to be treated like a child, he still loves feeling like one around MC. Very much not an independent sleeper, although he'd give MC their space whenever they need.

Hermes - Hermes hogs the hell out of the bed. Like starfish level. Though he enjoys when MC nuzzles in anyways, and he'll wrap an arm around them to sleep. He doesn't mind being independent either.

Zephyrus - Zephyrus goes for the cradle every time. It's a protective position, and it's natural for him to want to protect those around him. Aside from that, Zephyr can be a pretty independent sleeper, comfortable with just a small touch of hands.

Aphrodite - Aphrodite loves facing MC and being free to wrap an arm around them, lean in for a kiss before bed, or wake up to the sight of their face in the morning. Overall she loves being close, with some sort of reassurance that MC is there.

Teledice - This is a little headcannon-y lmao but I imagine, since Teledice has a young nymph she's devoted to raising, that she sleeps in between MC and her. Say both MC and Teledice have an arm around the young nymph.

I was wonder if there will be an oblivious (and shy)route to romance, and if there will be sexual content. Love the little snippet it’s great and I can’t wait to read more.

So the way romance works in the game will be you have the ability to flirt with any of the RO's in both a shy and forward way. It's only when you choose to pursue a romance route (there will be an option with a specific icon to do this in the game) that the RO you choose will actively reciprocate feelings. This gives room for any route to romance, whether more forward or shy.

As for sexual content, there'll definitely be some spicier themes and scenes, though I don't feel comfortable writing anything explicit.

Oooo I know with twine you can have a dark and light theme, but do you think you might have different themes based on the ROs?

I love the look of the one you've shared. It has a... parchment feel to it, if that makes sense? Like we're a curator holding a piece of history in our hands.

The idea of making the entirety of Cyprus' UI across not only the actual game but the website here on tumblr being like parchment/ a book has been a big theme that I intend on keeping, so I'm happy you caught onto that even though it's in its first draft stage. Also, "a curator holding a piece of history in our hands?" Now that's beautiful.

As for having different themes for each of the RO's, I think that could actually be a great idea that I should try and experiment on. My only constraint right now is my limited knowledge of Sugarcube, so I'll have to get studying up lol.

Cyprus is moving to twine!

I think this is the best decision I can make this early on into the coding process, as it gives me less work to adjust all the coding that needs moving from choicescript to twine at this stage rather than later. Plus, the user interface is going to be SIGNIFICANTLY prettier.

Little scuffed screenshot below for now. Keep in mind this is where the next update will come out, so the next update may take a little longer. Unfortunately no estimate at the moment, but I'll keep updating!
