The Apollo Justice Trilogy was very great for asking "What if you shared a deep, emotional, and important bond with someone, but just. Couldn't fucking stand having them as a coworker?"

It’s kind of insane to me that Phoenix Wright was allowed to become a defense attorney when in the court where he practices, he’s on-record for *checks notes* EATING EVIDENCE IN COURT

I have once again written something that is not the Ace Attorney Ghost AU longfic (On the Laying of Ghosts) that I've been working on. Instead I wrote Langworth smut. You're welcome!
This is What Taking it Up the Ass Does to You (1,666 words) by fish_oh_no and mushygreybrainmatter
Chapters: 1/2 Rating: Explicit Category: M/M Fandom: 逆転裁判 | Gyakuten Saiban | Ace Attorney Relationships: Mitsurugi Reiji | Miles Edgeworth/Shiryuu Rou | Shi-Long Lang Characters: Mitsurugi Reiji | Miles Edgeworth, Shiryuu Rou | Shi-Long Lang Additional Tags: Anal Sex, Alternate Universe - Werewolf, Werewolf Shi-Long Lang, One Night Stands, Rough Sex, Biting, Teeth, Dirty Talk, furthering my slutworth agenda, Unsafe Sex, Knotting, though it is vague because this is, POV Miles Edgeworth, and he's too fucked out to put two and two together, Werewolves, Post-Gyakuten Kenji | Ace Attorney Investigations, Post-Case AAI 1-5: Turnabout Ablaze, Crack Treated Seriously
Summary:
Coming off the end of Turnabout Ablaze, Miles Edgeworth and Shi-Long Lang both need to unwind. They might as well help each other out. Nothing will go wrong, surely.

The thing everyone seems to forget about the police mascot themed theme park in aai is that not only is it blatant copaganda and obviously the blue badger-and-family themed marketing must have cost a lot of police budgets but also its literally called gatewater land. As in. Like the really fancy gatewater hotel. Theyre owned by the same company.
So not only is the theme park police funded but its owned by an (assumably rich) conglomerate as well. All together that makes for a really depressing combination and also has really sus implications regarding the polices relations with businesses.

I am thinking about fan fiction writers, but anyone who writes any kind of fiction can answer. (As far as I’m aware, non-fiction is usually written in the past tense - but if I’m wrong do let me know!)
If you like, explain why in the tags!
When I was young I gathered that all serious works of fiction were written in the past tense (past tense third person to be precise) so that is what i did when I started writing. However my mind was blown by the power and immediacy of Margaret Atwood writing in the present tense so I started to experiment with it myself, and now i strongly favour it. I get the impression that past is still the most commonly used, but I’m prepared to be surprised!
Please share!

You know, at first I wasn't sold on the whole poker thing, but thinking about it, it really makes sense that that game would be what Phoenix ends up spending so much of his time on.
Phoenix's whole life can honestly be described by 'being dealt bad cards all night but still managing to win'. Time and time and time again he has had setback after setback happen to him and he has had to manage to come out on top of it somehow. He even mentions that it's not unlike being in court, that it's all about reading people.
I think Phoenix started playing poker after his disbarment not just because he's good at it, but because it comforted him, in a way. I think part of it is the sense of agency it gave him, especially in a situation where he didn't have much, but also...
He says it himself, it reminded him of court.
Playing poker might've been his only other way to retain the feelings he felt when he was still cross-examining witnesses. It was his best bet of keeping that same fire burning, all those years, even if not as brightly. It wasn't the same, but I think it shows how much his job meant to him, to the point that it's very hard to seperate from who he is.
You can take the man from the courtroom, but you can't take the courtroom from the man, and all that

Wright's inner monologue: this is so stupid, you all suck... (Random person passes by) I could take him (Not in a fight.)
Edgeworth's inner monologue: HM, this trinket is so interesting... Logically (organizes simple things step by step). The world is fascinating.
Apollo's inner monologue: What if I light something on fire. So tempted to break that window right now. Wish I was sitting in a throne and my boss was crawling at my feet.

[ID: A digital illustration of Miles Edgeworth and Phoenix Wright from Ace Attorney. They are drawn fairly small in the middle of the image. Edgeworth is getting into Phoenix's face and holding a file in his left hand, he says "Prove useful or get out of my damn office!". Phoenix leans back a bit with his hands up, he looks at Edgeworth with wide eyes and says "Yes, sir!". End description.]
Edgeworth can be intimidating

your narumitsu art made me weep with joy and I heard you want more requests 👀
idk if this is the right place to put them but I think phoenix coming with miles to try on his glasses for the first time would be sweet :,) miles asking how they look and phoenix being just smitten. the good stuff
Dear anon… you sure know how to pick em! Things got very out of hand very quickly while drawing, and well. You inspired me to draft a comic! I didn’t want to make you wait long, so here are the sketches for the pages relevant to your request <3
