Hope? In her mind’s eye hope had always seemed too good to be true. Like, That one kid winning a golden ticket in a chocolate bar only to have extra ordinary things happen to him. - A movie and book she couldn’t bother to ever take interest in unlike some of the more whimsical hood-rats she knew. Hope was a dangerous thing.

Of course he was right. She knew it. Despite the slight tinge of disappoint that seemed to flutter to the surface as he finished speaking, not even batting an eye as his clear-cut words which would have normally offended someone.
