Hey guys quick reminder that the film idiocracy literally has actual eugenicist talking points ingrained into the narrative (albeit most likely unintentional). The films argument for why humanity became so stupid has nothing to do with the fact that people were constantly exposed to misinformation and lies to a point that they are now in a state of post truth fog, instead it posits that stupid (poor) people kept breeding too much because they are stupid and love sex, while smart (rich) people didn’t have enough children because they are smart and waited, so all the stupid (poor) children polluted the gene pool.

Gotham however takes visual inspiration from both New York and Chicago, which is most likely the source of the debate, but geolocation wise it’s pretty set in stone that it’s in New Jersey
