I'd like to once more highlight Mohammed Alanqer's fundraiser. He's been funrdraising for months and still not reached his goal. He has a family to take care of, his wife, his children, including a child less than a year old, who was born in this genocide and this war zone and who deserves to be brought up in a safe environment.
Their fundraiser has raised €63,187 so far, meaning they have less than €10,000 to go until they reach their €70K goal. Can we get them one step closer to their goal and reach €65,000?

How has your youngest son Amir been? I see that it's been a few months now since he was born, so I wanted to ask how the struggle of raising a newborn baby in this environment has been.
You are such a wonderful, compassionate person with a big heart.
It made me so happy that you cared to ask about little Amir.
He was born on June 2, 2024, which makes him about five months old. He is doing well, and we are trying our best to keep him safe.
I assume you’ve heard about the outbreak of polio in Gaza and the World Health Organization’s announcement about it. This has been terrifying for us. Amir received his vaccinations and immunizations two weeks ago.
There’s also a concern about skin diseases. Currently, we’re seeking a diagnosis and treatments that are not available here for a skin condition he has, though we still don’t know the cause or exact nature of it.
As for his nutrition, we are trying to provide him with milk, although prices are incredibly high, as are prices for baby diapers.
And now, as we approach the winter season, the cold is coming, and we lack the resources needed for a baby like him.

I find myself in a situation where it’s difficult to think about the luxury of dedicating a room to any specific purpose. I’m in Gaza, where my home has been destroyed, and we are currently displaced without shelter. For me, all I long for is just one room—a safe haven for my children, providing them with comfort and protection, far from the sounds of destruction and fear.
When I think about the question, my priority now is to restore stability to our lives and give my children a safe place where we can build simple memories, rather than living in constant worry for our safety and well-being.

Why is no one talking to me? No one checks on my family anymore. Are we no longer important, the six of us?! When will I find someone to care about us? Will it be when we are bombed or dead?
The people here helped me, and the Tumblr community is wonderful. I love you all.
But no one wants to check on my family anymore. I have four children who live every day in fear, with bombings and death, in a place without sanitation, filled with epidemics and diseases. Even food is now just canned goods. Is a child supposed to live their life here without any sweets or treats?
Are we dead?! Is that why no one answers or asks about us? Or has the world's conscience died, so they don’t think about us or inquire about us?
I created a post telling our story in black and white because my family and I are starting to lose hope. Perhaps someone will look at the pictures and read the story, realizing that this family is on the brink of becoming a memory.
My children, my wife, and I read your comments and your words, and the messages you send. Why have you stopped? No one is standing with us. You know, even internet and electricity here are hard to come by, and we walk a long way to reach a place just to tell you that we are still alive here in Gaza.
We hoped someone would fight with us, try to raise our voice to the world, send our campaign to friends, or even try to adopt our cause and reach out to people, asking them to write and share our story.
If I’m the only one here in Gaza trying to raise my family's voice and save them, I won’t succeed alone.
I'm writing this because I can't do it alone, and I hope you will support me and stand with me.
Just read this with your hearts. My family and I need your support with your own selves, minds, and consciences, not just donations, above all else.
I will attach a picture of my family here, hoping it will make someone look with their heart, talk to us, and say, “I will try to help you.”

I hope to find someone who cares about whether my family and I are still alive.

It is not in the nature of noble souls to pass by in silence while others suffer. Some calls for help may not be clear, but they arise from genuine need, and recognizing them is a testament to our humanity.
"I am not talking here about financial donations; there are ways that can support my family more than material aid."
Have you ever asked about my children? Your message alone could be a source of joy and hope for them. Isn’t that a part of our humanity? We are vulnerable in this world.
Do you write and share posts? Do you have the heart to stand beside those in need? Is it hard to support this family with a single post? Imagine the joy of doing something meaningful with your day by bringing a smile to a family facing hardship with four children in the midst of war.
Do you care to follow their blog? It might make them feel they matter to someone. Even if they don’t survive these circumstances, it would be beautiful for them to live with a sense of hope, just by knowing someone is there with them.
Happiness may come from simply trying to help others! Make today different from other days and offer them even a kind word.
Sometimes I dream that a big blogger reaches out to me and says, ‘Go, take care of your children and provide for them. I will support your campaign and share it on my blog.’ Just the thought of someone lifting this weight from me fills me with hope.

I've been messaging back and forth with @mohammedalanqer after he shared his fundraiser with me, and very quickly into our conversation I offered to draw a comic about him to help boost his gofundme. he was incredibly excited about the idea and shared so many lovely pictures of his family for reference. the text is based off his story of him and his family living under constant bombardment, which you can read here.
he has been able to raise €50,403 out of €58,000, meaning he only has €7,592 left to be able to evacuate. please share this comic as much as possible so that he can reach his goal!
UPDATE (08/30): the goal has been raised to cover additional costs! the current progress is
€58,710 / €60,000
€1,290 left to go!

Voices from Beneath the Rubble: A Life Suspended in Gaza
Art by @norrriey & @sailing-ever-west ♥️
Rebuilding Lives: A Family's Struggle and Need for Support in Post-War Gaza
In the heart of Gaza, a once-thriving family now grapples with the harsh realities of war. Mohammed Alanqer, a dedicated engineer, had built a promising technology startup that was the cornerstone of his family’s livelihood. However, the war has left his business in ruins, and his family displaced, facing severe financial and health challenges.
The Impact of War on Livelihood and Education
The destruction of Mohammed's startup has stripped the family of their primary source of income. This loss is compounded by the closure of schools in Gaza, depriving their children, Layan, Sarah, and Adam, of their right to education. With the educational institutions in disarray, the children’s future remains uncertain, threatening to deepen the cycle of poverty and instability.
Health and Safety Concerns
The war has not only affected their financial stability but also put the family's health at risk. The destruction of hospitals has left Mohammed's wife, Enas Majed, in a precarious situation, particularly during her pregnancy with their youngest child, Amir. The family also struggles with medical conditions, including their son Adam’s battle with viral hepatitis and other illnesses like measles, which have become prevalent due to the lack of proper healthcare facilities.
The Urgent Need for Support
The family has been forced to flee their home multiple times, living in constant fear and without basic necessities such as clean clothes and adequate food. Their situation has become increasingly desperate, with the cost of escaping to a safer environment being prohibitively high. The financial burden of crossing borders, estimated at $5000 per adult and $2500 per child, is beyond their means.
A Call for Help
Mohammed and his family urgently need support to overcome these challenges. The total estimated costs for providing education, housing, and essential needs amount to between 27,817 and 42,485 euros annually. This includes:
- Education Costs: 11,817 - 18,485 euros per year
- Housing Costs: 12,000 - 18,000 euros per year
- Basic Needs: 4,000 - 6,000 euros per year
This financial assistance would enable the family to secure a stable and safe environment, ensure the children’s return to education, and provide the necessary healthcare to overcome their current difficulties.
Conclusion
The story of Mohammed Alanqer’s family is a testament to the resilience and determination to survive in the face of unimaginable adversity. However, their journey cannot be completed without external support. By contributing to their cause, you can help rebuild a future where Mohammed’s children can grow up in safety, pursue their education, and live with dignity.

Trapped Family in Gaza Appeals for Help to Survive
A Plea for Help from Gaza: A Family Seeking Safety
Hello, I am Mohammed Alanqer, married to Enas Majed, and we have four wonderful children.
We live in the midst of the ongoing hellish war in Gaza, trapped between walls of fear and despair. I, Mohammed, am a father of four children and a husband to a woman who was two months pregnant when the war began.
We struggle daily to survive in an environment filled with threats and dangers.
I lost our sole source of livelihood when my tech startup, which I built with dedication and hard work, was destroyed in the war. My children, Layan, Sarah, and Adam, have been deprived of education after their schools were destroyed, severely threatening their future. Amidst these harsh circumstances, my wife gave birth to our fourth child, Amir, in the midst of the war, adding to our state of despair and hopelessness.
My wife, Enas, lives in constant anxiety due to the destruction of hospitals in our area. I have lost my job and source of income, leaving me unable to provide for my family's needs and safety. Our home was destroyed by the war, forcing us to flee repeatedly and rendering us homeless.
We now face extreme difficulty in providing a safe place to live, clean clothes, and food for our children. Additionally, our children have contracted diseases like measles, and our son Adam has been diagnosed with viral hepatitis.
Our only hope now is to escape this ongoing nightmare and find a safe haven for our family. However, this requires exorbitant financial costs; the coordination fees for crossing the borders amount to $5000 per adult and $2500 per child, a sum I cannot afford alone.
We urgently appeal for your moral and financial assistance to cover the necessary costs for escaping to a safe environment, where we can build a better future for our children and ensure our family's safety.
We are in desperate need of your support. Any donation, no matter how small, can help save our lives. Thank you for your attention and support during these harsh times.
