I think one of the hottest things about hypnosis os when the subject/character is intensely focused and concentrated.
You can still see the intelligence in their eyes, which makes them so hot in the first place, but you can tell their mind is completely empty.
I like to imagine that, when the subject is carrying out orders, doing the villains bidding, etc., the image of the spiral/pendulum/whatever hypnotized them just plays endlessly in their mind, even after they aren't staring at it anymore.
Their emotions and thoughts are in sleep-mode because they're so captivated by the beauty of the hypnotic spiral/pendulum/whatever.
They're still somewhat conscious in there, but so mesmerized that nothing else matters.

The hottest part of hypnosis is the moment right before the subject drops.
