Apparently this blog is 8 years old so happy birthday to it (only 18 days late shhh) this blog has been so inactive for so long but I decided I wanted to bring it back to life
The last few years have been just a dumpster fire, so I've decided to put my foot down stop feeling sorry for myself and work on my hobbies again
So
I just got back from Japan and I got a couple of doll things (I'm so excited to put these eyes in my girl) I plan to restring her and replace her eyes and I want to start sewing again and make her some new outfits, I've actually started embroidery and have gotten pretty good at is so I'm excited to bring everything together!
Anyways I plan to start posting more as well as post lil stuff to youtube for fun as well <3

As someone who works as a cashier for a decently sized organization, take it all. If a large company can not help its employees in a time of need, then they are a shitty company. If it's a large company and they are paying you next to nothing, they are a shitty company. If you work, and especially full time, and you've worked their for about a year and you can not support yourself in a emergency, then that is a shitty company. Because you know at that point when then have a ton of stores and the CEO is making millions and your making next to nothing. That's a shitty company
Take it all my friend
So I have a confession. I work as a cashier for a large organization and get paid to what they equate as “pocket change” and its slowly getting worse. Whenever I have someone say “keep the change”, I keep it for me. That being said, what they want me to do is to put it into a collective for employees as an “emergency fund”. Sounds like a nice thing, right? Its not. It’s a loan and they charge interest on it. I know I’m terrible but I feel like what they’re doing is far worse. And I donate half..

Idk how much they actually think of age while making their prices, its more of a hobby of who can afford it.
As someone who has a doll and is a "kid" who does work in retail, yeah it breaks the bank and that's why it's called saving up hun (it's worth it though)
(And also living at home lol)
ive always thought bjds were really pretty but i cant understand how any of the makers expect younger people to get into the hobbie to find out if they really like it without breaking the bank? just a bare 1/8 bjd costs me almost a whole weeks pay check for gods sake

(Sorry I'm sick and in pain so this is just random blurbs)
The main thing I find with cameras is playing with all the settings and googling what certain settings are and how they work instead of something like "how to take good photos". So take it in little bites and find what you like
I have the Sony a6000 which I absolutely love, little pricey (I think I played about 700-800 for it, Canadian tho) I love my camera to bits. I have no extra lenses and just use the one it comes with. One thing to think of as well with cameras is does the lenses come off, if your going for a bit more professional that's more of what your going for. If not and your on a tight budget you might want a point and shoot camera (the little basic ones, there not as good but I also haven't had one in forever so idk)
Send me a message if you have any questions, dont be shy :)
I only take pics with my phone and I’m embarrassed about it even though it’s a newish phone with a pretty good camera. I never learned much about cameras and photography. I wouldn’t even know what to look for to buy a new good quality camera, let alone how to use it. Anyone have any advice? Or know where I could learn about cameras? (Ps I’m older and not as internet savvy as some so would really appreciate something more specific than “just google it” since search results can be overwhelming )

What can you with bjds?
This was my first question, right after “what are bjds?”.
Shelf sitters: Buy a doll and put it on the shelf to look pretty. The doll could be nude and blank, or fully dressed and painted, with eyes and wig. People who do this are often collectors or just want to admire the art that is a bjd.
Dress up doll: Buy a lot of clothing, accessoires and shoes for your doll and let the fun begin. Some bjd owners can sew and make their own clothing.
Face paint: Scaring the neighbours with your gasmask and a small doll head in your hand. Spray, blush, paint, draw. If you’re really good at it, you can do commissions.
Say Cheese: Photographing the bjds is something almost everyone does. From unflattering and blurry up nose pics, to gorgeous editorial worthy shoots.
Roleplay: Using your doll’s character and an internet profile to roleplay with other people’s characters. Let your imagination run free!
Never ending story: Wether you shell your characters of buy dolls to make characters, inspiration will flow out of your muse and get you typing. Or not, but who cares, pretty dolls!
The doll with the pearl earring: A model that won’t complain and will comply (for the most part) is not just a photographer’s dream, but also perfect to inspire artist who like to draw and paint.
Making mini’s: Building entire diorama’s or just sculpting clay cookies. There are many things that would make great props and again, if you’re good, you can sell them.
Plastic Surgeon: Sanding, drilling, sculpting. A doll will get a complete and permanent make-over in your hands.
Creating: Jewellery, wigs, eyes, bjds or fantasy parts for bjds.
Crocheting / knitting: Bjd scarves, hats, clothing, even shoes. And all that in scale.
And of course talking about bjds with your fellow bjd friends! These are some common things people do with their bjds and they often combine some or everything of the above.
