i want to be a conventionally attractive wealthy skinny ciswoman so i can go on the bachelor and make it all the way thru the competition, and when the guy proposes to me i just like leap towards him and close my teeth around his neck and bite as hard as i can. just absolute animal brutality like shaking his neck like a ragdoll, growling ripping tearing etc, and then before anyone can stop me immediately run into traffic and die so no one ever gets the chance to understand why that happened

The “Headless Tales”: The Mysteries Surrounding Nahanni Valley
Tumblr media
August 24, 2021
In 1904 or 1905, two Metis brothers by the names of Willie and Frank McLeod went to the Nahanni Valley to look for gold. The Nahanni River flows through Nahanni National Park Reserve in the Northwest Territories in Canada. The Nahanni Valley is considered Canada’s more remote version of the Grand Canyon, and offers beautiful hot springs, hiking, and waterfalls.
Also known to some as “The Valley of Mystery” the Nahanni Valley has been known to have some pretty creepy things happen in it, including being the last place that many missing and murdered individuals have last been seen.
That was the last time Willie and Frank were ever seen alive, and three years later the brothers were found on the banks of the Nahanni River, on a flat stretch known now as “Deadmen Valley.” Their other brother, Charlie, had believed in the worst, and had put together a search party to look for them. Their bodies were found, but they had both been decapitated with the location of their heads unknown.
Though the fate of the McLeod brothers is still unknown almost 120 years later, there have been many theories over the years of what might have happened to them. Some believe the brothers were murdered by Nahanni-Indians, a tribe who was known to be extremely protective of their hunting grounds. Others believe they were decapitated by a trapper who lost control. Some believe that the brothers came across gold, as that is why they were in the valley to begin with, and somehow that played a factor into their death.
In 1915, about 10 years after the McLeod brothers met their fate, a man named Martin Jorgenson went into the Nahanni Valley, also looking for gold. Martin did have luck, sending some letters telling others he had found some gold in the valley, however soon after sending these letters, Martin’s cabin burned to the ground under very mysterious circumstances.
Martin’s body was found among the ashes of his burnt cabin, and like the two McLeod brothers years earlier, he was also found decapitated with his head nowhere to be found.
Many believe the Nahanni Valley is cursed, and that most who venture within, end up with similar fates to the McLeod brothers and Martin Jorgenson. In the winter of 1922, the body of a WWI veteran named John O’Brien was found not far from Deadmen Valley. He was found hunched over a pile of tinder with a matchbook in his head and looked as if he had froze to death while trying to start a fire.
In 1945, a miner named Ernest Savard, from Ontario, also went into the Nahanni Valley and his body was found headless in his sleeping bag. Two trappers named Bill Epler and Joe Mulholland vanished without a trace from the valley, never to be seen again.
Is Nahanni Valley really cursed and those who dare to try to find the gold in it meet horrific fates? Perhaps we will never know, and because of that, the mysteries and headless tales from Nahanni Valley will remain unsolved.

Inspired by the song ‘Kagayaku Sora no Shijima ni wa’ by Kalafina.
I have a prayer
That someday the sky will give way,
And let these bare feet
Of mine walk through,
Behind the clouds
And over the white crescent moon
There’ll be a path that leads you
Back to the start…

Actual good first-time college student advice:
Wear jeans/pants that “breathe” and bring a sweater, even if it’s scorching hot out, until you know which building blasts the AC to 60 degrees F and which feels like a sauna
Backpacks with thick straps are your friend!  Messenger bags are cool and all but if you’re commuting with a lot of stuff, symmetrically styled backpacks are better for your back
You are your own person and you can walk out whenever you need to or want to, so long as you’re not disrupting the class.  Meaning you can go to the bathroom without permission, take a breather if you’re anxious, answer an important phone call, etc.
If you don’t like the class on the first day, if you can- DROP THAT CLASS AND TAKE ANOTHER ONE!  It’ll only get worse from there!
If you can, take a class outside your major; it’s a good break from your expected studies.
You are in charge of your schedule.  Your adviser and guidance counselor is there to ‘advise and guide’ but if you don’t like certain classes and you can substitute for others, that’s your choice.
Consequently, if you are changing anything drastic in your plan, talk with your adviser and instructors.
Pay attention to your credit hours and grades.  Never leave this to the last week of school, you will be sorry and stressed beyond belief!
Unless it’s a lab book or otherwise specified, go to the class for a week or so before buying an expensive textbook.  Some classes, while having it on their required list, do not actually use the textbook a whole lot and you might find some of it scanned online.  Rent if you can or buy used online (schools actually don’t give discounts).  Use your best judgement on what you think you need.
Tell the people who go up to you selling or advertising things you are not interested in that you are in a rush to class and don’t have time to listen to them.  It’s less rude and they’ll leave you alone.
The smaller the class, the better it is to have some sort of acquaintanceship with a couple classmates.  They might save your ass if you are absent one day or need to study.  And talking with them makes the time go by faster without it being so insufferable.
You don’t need to join a club or sport, but internships are cool and useful!
If you can afford it, take a day off once or twice each semester if you’re too exhausted.  Just be aware of what you missed and if it was worth missing!
Your health is the most important, this goes for mental health too!!  Note: College-age/upper teens is when mental disorders like depression and anxiety are most commonly diagnosed.  Most schools have therapy services, especially during exam time.  Look into it if you need to!
Communicate with your professor if you are having trouble with something.  Anything.
Eat and stay hydrated.  Bring a water bottle and snack to class.
All-nighters will happen but never go over 36 hours without sleep.
It’s going to be hard and there will be times you might think about giving up.  This WILL happen.  You just have to make sure what you’re doing isn’t making you absolutely miserable and/or there is something rewarding and positive to look forward to at the end!

Why do you say "do not repost" your art? Unless it's paysite material I mostly ignore that line. I mean, reblogs & re-tweets technically count as a art repost so that makes "do not repost" invalid. If you don't want your art out there don't post it to the internet. Not trying to come off as mean, that's just the mindset I have. Once you posts something to the internet... it's out there.
…… hm.
when i say “do not repost” i mean, do not:
save my art to your computer
reupload it to your own social media site, especially without credit
exploit my my art so you can become more popular/get more attention/etc
reblogging/retweeting is not the same as reposting. those actually allow the artist to keep ownership of their own art as it gets spread around. they are different things.
it’s not that i don’t want my art to be on the internet. that’s why i post it. but i don’t want OTHER people taking credit for MY art and the hard work i put into it. i have a store where i sell my art. having people repost my art to their own sites literally takes money away from me. because people don’t know that I’M the artist who drew it, then they don’t know about my store, and instead consume my art mainly through websites that repost my art for their own amusement or profit.
do you know how many japanese artists have deleted their pixiv/twitter accounts because people kept reposting their art without permission, OR credit, and have even profited from stealing their work? so much art is floating out there without an owner because the japanese artists were harassed so much due to their art constantly being reposted without any credit to them, that they had to disappear from the internet just so they could keep ownership of the rest of their art.
do you know how many people found my art through pinterest? i’ve gotten so many messages from people saying they found my art there, and it took them anywhere from days to WEEKS to find me and my blog, because most, if not all of it was posted 1. without credit, or 2, without a link back to the original, because the pinterest user reuploaded it from their own computer.
do you know how many people try to apply for jobs with their art, but can’t seem to claim ownership of their own portfolio because it’s been so spread out and reposted everywhere on the internet, that companies can’t be sure that the person they’re interviewing is the actual artist themself?
i don’t think you understand just how detrimental reposting is to artists. and i don’t think you understand how important it is for people to respect artists’ wishes. my art is not yours to use for your own amusement. there is a reason why most websites have a dmca report option, to take down unauthorized use of their art. even the law recognizes it as a personal right.
i do want my art to be shown to the world, but under my own terms. i want my wishes in regards to my art to be respected. you are not doing me any favors by reposting my art onto other sites without permission or credit. just the opposite, in fact–your hurting me personally, financially, and possibly hurting my chances of earning a job with my art.
so in conclusion, here are the dangers of reposting:
the artists loses ownership of their art
no one knows who made it anymore, and don’t care
the artists stop making art because all that happens is their art gets reposted without a source, and so they prefer to disappear off the internet entirely. the world has now just lost an amazing artist.
people make a profit off their art, literally stealing money and potential customers from them, because no one knows where the art originated from
they lose job opportunities because the reposting and art theft is so ubiquitous, that even if they are the original artist, no one can be sure of that.
etc.
reposting is detrimental. it’s not the same thing as reblogging/retweeting, it’s something that literally harms artists in the long run.
at the end of the day, the biggest way to prevent this from happening is by respecting the artist’s wishes with some basic human decency. that’s literally it.
i hope i’ve cleared some things up for you.
