LORE:

the events of basically everything grian's done/participated in before hermitcraft take place (mainly yhs and evo)

everything goes the same, grian leaves evo, watchers scoop him up. but now, the timeline splits

B-Verse: things don't exactly work out between g and the watchers, so they wipe his memories and dump him on hermitcraft. they're still out there, somewhere.

A-Verse: things, again, don't exactly work out between g and the watchers. however, this time, grian mops the floor with their asses, and essentially dismantles all of the shit that made them powerful (conduits for watcher magic and equipment that allowed them to access admin-tier power on rando servers, basically), destroying it before taking off to cause havoc on servers (mainly cartoonish hijinks to the nth degree)

(note: b-verse is called b-verse bc g has no recollection of his background besides like, his name and how to build. a-verse grian, however, remembers everything, and thus, is deemed the "original" grian)

BEHAVIOR:

Watcher Faction:

watchers, in my mind, are neutral-neutral-evil. mainly don't give much of a shit about anything. however, their goals/aspirations, and what they'd be willing to do to reach them, are definitely not benevolent.

most of the time they just, well, watch and observe. catalogue the goings-on on servers, and allocate the information they gather. they rarely interfere, and even then, certain conditions must be met before they can.

Watcher!Grian:

my watcher grian is chaotic evil in like, a cartoon villain kind of way. he's really just evil because he wants to tear shit up and have a good time. he can have a little chaos, as a treat.

if he somehow ended up in the b-verse timeline... hoo boy. grian's regular shenanigans are already bonkers enough, but having a second g that basically lives to be an anarchist? that'd be a nightmare for the poor hermits, lol

WATCHER INFO:

there's two types of watchers: borne, and induced

Borne:

borne watchers are, as the title suggests, individuals born as watchers. they're their own species, and share a common ancestor with endermen, phantoms, and the ender dragon.

they're more proportional to humans (compared to an enderman's super long legs/arms), but have freakish height and reptilian/avian features. not to mention many eyes, which can appear almost all over their body, depending on how powerful they are.

Induced:

induced watchers are watchers that are, again, as the title suggests, inducted into becoming a watcher. they are players, who have been meticulously chosen via unknown means to become a watcher. upon being chosen, they will begin rigorous training, gaining their wings (which typically appear feathered or bat-like), learning how to speak the watcher-specific language, learning how to use admin menus and commands, and finally, how to use watcher magic.

the thing is, watcher magic is toxic to players. those that are avid users of it are steeped in magic, and physical contact with them without precautions can cause allergic reactions ranging from minor to fatal

so, when i joke abt my watcher!g giving you hives if you touch him, he literally will. don't touch him (unless you actually want hives or something)

when players use watcher magic without some sort of conduit (a staff/trident, wand, or book are the most practical), it changes their genetic makeup, rearranging cellular and atomic structure, to compensate for the fact that player bodies are fragile and weak. if this didn't happen, the individual would get severely sick and potentially die. this is why my watcher!g looks the way he does (six permanent eyes, sharp teeth, and obsidian forearms)
