I find it fun to be in a system of usually very domineering Alphas and Betas, which all fizzes down to the point of "Who's the best at protecting us? Providing for us?" And it becomes a quiet competiton for who can care the best for eachother.

I think it's cute, really. We're bad at communicating such things verbally with eachother, but we like to do the subtle things, especially inner system. Providing our mates, and family, and friends with comfort, and food, and fun as best we can without expectations in turn because we're being as what we are as a Good Alpha/Beta by providing.

It's odd at times remembering we're a sidesystem who split specifically to keep calm in dangerous situations.

It's odder when we realize we don't have any connections to a lot of the other system's relationships, or interests, or anything really.

Recalling anything the other system happened to do, or enjoy, or people they knew feels like a distant past so far our fingertips can't even wish to scrape the surface.

But, We're here. And we don't have the same desires as the other system.

We're here to guard and protect, not for everyday wear and tear. We're here to keep levelheaded in situations that'll trigger your fight or flight.

Maybe that is why we're itching. Everything feels so mundane when we're expecting a bullet to fly right past our ear.
