Been watching the Angel tv show to fill the Buffy sized hole in my heart and it just has no charm so far like it feels devoid of the fun life lessons manifested as monsters and mystery paired with the light hearted jokes. Like Buffy wasn’t afraid to make fun of itself and the genre but Angel so far is just so… serious. Which I understand is his character but it needs something more going for it. Buffy was poking fun at genre but Angel feels like it’s trying to BE the genre. I hope it comes around.
