𖦹 Holy wow I haven't posted in decades... Well, I really wanted to just come back with a tiny little ramble post because I've been thinking about the concept of grief a lot recently. Especially within media, grief can come in many forms, and it is so incredibly complex and dreary. I've been dawdling on the fact that you can grieve over things that aren't really gone as well. This so-called dawdling mainly comes from the fact that last year I had to surrender a pet of mine, she feels almost dead but it's because I never see her anymore. But the fact that you can feel like the things you've lost sight of are gone forever is so significant to me. Things like losing friends, family, or simple items even can feel incapable of returning even if it doesn't mean death. Isn't that wild!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
𖦹 I really wanted to bring up Adrianne Lenker's " Zombie Girl " because it so perfectly describes the grief of a being. That lack of presence being all there is to something that is no longer there. Although this all sounds really simple, I just find it incredibly interesting that grief is such a spiral of emotions that never truly leaves you even when you push so hard to remove that part of yourself.

★ BLACKJACK X JOKER...
𖦹 Over the course of about two years (going on to 3) my partner and I have been upgrading and upgrading a crack ship we had made way back when we first met. These two are very oddly, Blackjack from the Blackjack anime and manga series made by Osamu Tezuka (who also made Astro Boy!) and The Joker from the DC Universe. Both are very much in and out of character, the joker being characterized by many different variations of his own. These two have been the main characters starring in our writing and art for years.........
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
𖦹 That said.... we are now both collaborating to make a VISUAL NOVEL!!!!!!!! Screenshots above are two little sneak peeks of the things made specifically for this project. If you are interested, I will most likely continue to be posting about these two maniacs because this project is something very important to me, although it sounds odd.... stay tuned.... 𖦹 A Way Out is a 2-player multiplayer story game made by the creators of It Takes Two but with a completely different theme, yet the same play style. You and a friend play as Leo and Vincent, both prisoners who plan to find (dare I say) . . . ' A way out ' . . . to get revenge on a man named Harvey who becomes the sole purpose of these twos' relationship forming to begin with. And oh. my. GOODNESS! This game really gets you invested, although this may depend on who you play with, the character you choose, etc. you are pushed into this exciting story that seems to have only one way of ending (until the ball drops! ooh! AIII!) This game depicts the amazing trial and errors of friendship found in a time of rage, desperation, and grief, breaking through the hardships of learning to trust somebody with your conjoined goals and hoping they'll follow through with more than just words. !!!! SPOILER WARNING !!!!!!! 𖦹 Oh my god. As mentioned earlier, the story is beautifully constructed and gives you a definite ending until pulling the rug out from under you with what they do in the last 5 minutes of the playthrough. Forcing you to feel the turmoil of losing all trust in the person you played with through the entirety of the game. The most beautiful and interesting thing is they FORCE YOU to compete for your / your characters life. They test your morals and push you to think like that of Leo or Vincent. And oh it hurts. To see an ending so brutal in a way of finalizing the death of a friend, no matter who dies, you still love and cherish them in such a way. Leo, giving the letter as promised to Carol, and sitting with Vincent as he dies. Vincent, telling the news to Linda and Alex, and holding Leo's hand as he passes. No matter what, despite not much affection being shown through the game in any reassuring way, these two had such a strong bond no matter if the goal was the only reason they had started their relationship. They needed trust and they needed each other to confide in. GAWDDD.

𖦹 The album ' Days of Future Passed ' by The Moody Blues starts with the overture, ' The Day Begins' which is almost as whimsical as someone frolicking in a wide field, full of flutes and wonderful hums to a tune so familiar. This incredible feeling of comfort and nostalgia is sent down my spine through the entirety of it. This seems to very much be the point. Shifting into the second song ' Dawn : Dawn is a Feeling ', it's almost as if they flip the switch to taunt you for falling into such a false sense of security. This song makes me feel incredibly reflective and suddenly torn from the dreamy landscape the first song brought me to and back to the starkness of the present. The song ends with a similar tune the first one had, yet more melancholy. 𖦹 ' The Morning : Another Morning ' goes back to that high spirited childishness, almost in a more rustic sense as if you were playing with a well-known friend. This feeling is pushed even further with the chorus "Time seems to stand quite still, In a child's world it always will." ooh and near the end... MORE HARPS & TRUMPET! :D 𖦹 ' Lunch Break : Peak Hour ' is almost as if you're continuing through the drama of busy street life, pushing through crowds and catching cars or buses, struggling to make your way but the feeling is so consistent and reassuring to the fact that rushing is such a habit. This then flips to the lyrical part, which confirms my suspicion that this album is so heavily about time and it's quick-passing.
Tumblr media
𖦹 ' The Afternoon ' starts lyrical immediately, it's very resemblant of Pink Floyd in the sense of how the singer uses his voice, then switching into a swing similar to The Beatles, yet this is so incredibly unique in how they spin the music around the way he sings. I think this might be my favorite of the album; the piano is so strong and is almost in place of the drums it's so entertaining to listen to. Near the end of the song, we go for another full tone swap. This album loves to pull you into the joy behind routine and spending time being active, all the way back to the consequence of not keeping up with the time that you're toying with. 𖦹 ' Evening ' follows up the end of the last song with another orchestral piece similar to all the ones before until fading into a very monosyllabic tune with flutes, violins, and some lovely percussion. It's almost hypnotizing in the way that everything loops around each other here and there in such specific and methodical ways. Near the end, AGAIN a swap in tone!!! It's almost like gripping at another false hope but once more so powerful it feels so true, this half of the song doesn't lose its hypnotic stance despite the change of tone. 𖦹 To finally close it all out, we end with ' The Night '. What a beautiful end to such an amazing work of art that this album is. This song immediately hit 5 of my playlists like a truck the second it hit the last second. You are pushed into such a state of longing for everything you love and care for, as if it were to never come back the second you stop giving it a moment's notice. This album closes out with a final reading, alike to the first song. Then followed by a closing orchestra. This album is BEAUTIFUL, go listen if you haven't before, it truly is an experience in of its own.

✸ SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3...
𖦹 A week or two ago I went to go see the third Sonic movie of the (as of now,) trilogy. Oh. My. GOD. This movie was wonderful and everything I had wanted to see was put into it. I've always been a big Sonic fan since I was little, this movie fed me so much nostalgia from its CGI Character designs, references, and its story. Although there were some changes to how Marias' and Shadows' backstory was portrayed, it was still really wonderful and made sense to how the first two movies played out. I absolutely adored Jim Carrey's contribution to this movie series, he truly is the only Robotnik (and Eggman!) I could ever imagine in a live portrayal of Sonic. The soundtrack features references to the older games and electric guitar, this movie is so so wonderful and a great film for all ages, I went out with family to see it and we all had a good laugh and left the theatre with plenty to discuss.

✸ ʟɪꜰᴇ ɪꜱ ꜱᴛʀᴀɴɢᴇ...
𖦹 Due to its recent resurgence, I decided to re-visit the Life Is Strange series. I played this game back when I was younger yet never truly finished it in its entirety. Today I finally did. Life is Strange is a story-based game about grief and the way it can control your decisions and perceptions. You are pushed into the life of Max Caufield, an awkward student in Arcadia Bay. Throughout the course of the first episode, she finds her old friend Chloe Price, about to be shot by another student in the bathroom. Before the gun goes off, Max holds out her hand in dismay at the scene in front of her and realizes that she is able to go back in time. As the story unfolds through the course of 5 episodes, you meet the many people and social groups in Arcadia Bay in the hunt for the reason of Rachel Ambers' disappearance and the source of this unknown power alongside Chloe. This game has such an impacting soundtrack and way of showing the truth behind youth and reckless decisions made in hope for finding something greater. You are stuck facing the reality of what you do having consequence no matter how big or small. Chaos Theory. !!! SPOILER WARNING !!! 𖦹 In the end, there are two choices to make, as the finality of bending time has come to either letting the storm destroy arcadia bay, or to go back and let Chloe pass away. In my run-through, I decided to sacrifice Chloe, as the games message is growing past your grief. GOD. This was the most intense decision ever and in any other playthrough I will always choose Chloe or at the very least, be tempted to. That's what is so impactful with this game, you're clinging between this mass of characters and who you decide to favorite vs. Chloe Price. It is such a hard choice when she is such a main focus throughout any storyline, as she is where it all began and where it all ends. Saving Arcadia Bay for Pompidue... Bae vs Bay...

✸ THE STRANGER, ALBERT CAMUS...
𖦹 Goodness this book was insane. “The Stranger,” set in New York, follows a man named Matthew Ward weeks after his elderly mother, Maman, has passed away in a car accident. This book truly represents the trials and tribulations of life if it had been trapped behind a pane of glass. There’s such a strong feeling of just barely reaching out into the earth and seeing it as it is rather than just face value, yet never truly experiencing the humanity of it. I empathize so much with Matthew, most of his life shown in the book is instances of social alienation, existentialism, and him being involved in things he doesn’t understand the severity of until he faces the consequence. He is shown experiencing every day things yet never truly being “there.” This book explores what Camus says is "the nakedness of man faced with the absurd.” This book was a very quick read, being only 123 pages, yet I felt as if I had been dragged in for something so much more introspective than I had expected when I opened it for the first time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
𖦹 Ward, was found guilty for the murder of a man that was following him and his neighbor, this was due to an intense flash of heat on the beach and previous paranoia. This brings an onslaught of sudden discovery and an uproar in the way that Matthew sees his life and the lives of others, yet without ever gaining full empathy. Marie, his girlfriend, is a major factor in this half of the book. He finally begins to long for the woman who he since the beginning has thought less and less of. He sees the beauty of the world in her and through the bars of his cell. That said, it is too late for him to be and let be, as he is set to be executed. The court finding his lack of compassion an “obvious” sign of his guilt that isn’t truly there.
“I had been right, I was still right, I was always right. I had lived my life one way and I could just as well have lived it another. I had done this and I hadn't done that. I hadn't done this thing but I had done another. And so? It was as if I had waited all this time for this moment and for the first light of this dawn to be vindicated. Nothing, nothing mattered, and I knew why. Throughout the whole absurd life I'd lived, a dark wind had been rising toward me from somewhere deep in my future, across years that were still to come, and as it passed, this wind leveled whatever was offered to me at the time, in years no more real than the ones I was living. What did other people's deaths or a mother's love matter to me; what did his God or the lives people choose or the fate they think they elect matter to me when we're all elected by the same fate, me and billions of privileged people like him who also called themselves my brothers? Couldn't he see, couldn't he see that?”

✸ BEETLEJUICE... BEETLEJUICE...
𖦹 Yesterday I finally went to go see Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (AKA Beetlejuice 2), it was actually so much better than I had expected it to be. My starting expectations were the same as what I thought of when the film was in production, that fact being that the film was very un-needed, and it was. But this factor did not make me like this movie any less. Held up to the expectation of the iconic piece the first one was, this movie pales in comparison, yet I had so much fun watching it. Although it had its messy subplots and obvious cliches, there was so much good in this movie. But definitely do NOT go in expecting it to be outstanding, as this is a sequel to a movie that had a cemented ending in the first place. A big plus for me and all Danny Elfman fans alike, he wrote the score!!! That said, it was of course, amazing. The soundtrack for this film was brilliant, two songs stood out to me: 'Cry, Cry' by Mazzy Star and 'MacArthur Park' by Richard Parris. Both of these songs I already loved before seeing this movie, hearing them made me more interested because of how well-placed and well-involved they were to the current plot. Overall, this movie is worth the time spent yet sadly left me expecting more. The movie captured the charm of the first yet lacked the compelling story and ending that its successor had.

𖦹 Goodneesss!!! I just really wanted to ramble about how much I love animals and photography and photography OF animals. Animals are so beautiful, each and every one of them, they all have such special qualities, no matter what their instincts are, they are BEAUTIFUL.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
𖦹 To start, when it comes to simple and domesticated animals like cats and dogs, they are both such brilliant species that often get so taken for granted due to the fact that they, alike to non-domestic animals, are not at the same understanding that humans are at. They have no idea about social norms other than the society that they are given when placated inside a home in whatever circumstance. Which is exactly why pet abuse can tend to be so "easy" for people to do, people tend to let their anger get to them when it comes to pets just being unable to understand because they are NOT at the same level of understanding! This also reminds me of how people tend to forget that birds, like pigeons, were one of the first ever domesticated animals. Pigeons now rely on the human population for companionship in order to eat, wither it be trash or actual food. I think people forget that the beauty of having pets is that there is an understanding met between two beings that will never fully understand eachother, but the two of you will love eachother as unconditionally as possible.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
𖦹 With non-domesticated animals, the beauty is just as important to recognize as the domestic. There is very obvious beauty in the animals I show in these photos, yet there still is lack of respect towards the lives of them and those with less vanity. But those even with vanity get taken for granted alike to those domesticated by being used for their beauty. I wish people wouldn't take the wonders of sharing the earth with countless numbers of creatures for granted, I don't think anyone wishes for people to take them for granted in the first place but rather it's just a part of OUR nature to lose sight of empathy for those outside of our own capabilities and observations. A cat has never had to do taxes, a mouse has never gone to drivers ed, a beetle has never gossiped, and a bear most definitely has never had to succumb to any sort of government mandate or law.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
𖦹 I don't want this to sound like I am trying to shame those who enjoy taxidermy either, I too enjoy it (specifically the kind that is more made from animals that died of natural cause rather than hunted for sport), yet at times I am reminded of the mortality behind it all. This fact of each animal having their own purpose and goal in life makes me incredibly fond of them all. The love I feel for each breathing creature big and small is more than I can handle. I constantly wish to pass on in a field of flowers among hoofed or pawed animals, becoming one with the earth just as I was before I was born. I long to have the wings to do what birds in the sky do. I believe everyone wishes to be more and less, maybe even nothing at all.

𖦹 This is a less fleshed-out music discussion today, but like usual, I picked another artist to binge, this time the artist is Elliot Smith. I've been a fan of his music for quite a long time but I had yet to listen to his whole discography. Oh my goodness. 'Bled White' is beautiful.
Tumblr media
𖦹 The way I depict this song is it feels very much like a very prolonged desire to find inner peace or to escape from reality due to the world itself being against you entirely. Put up to the expectation to fall slack to each push given to your stability. This song can also be interpreted as someone trying to hold their sense of self versus the identity drawn upon them by the public. This song is just so fun in such a specific way that I absolutely adore.

𖦹 If you guys ever wondered what music I listen to when I do most of my late-night computer browsing (I doubt anyone ever did but whatever sigh...), it is typically Mojave 3s album, 'Excuses for Travellers.' This album was made in 2000 with 10 tracks, all beautiful in their own intricate yet intertwined ways. Mojave 3 has made a handful of my favorite songs; they have such interesting lyrics with very adaptable meanings. This album is what you expect from Mojave yet for some reason it sticks out like a sore thumb.
Tumblr media
𖦹 If I were to pick out a couple favorites, it would have to be 'In Love with a View', 'Bringin' Me Home', and 'Prayer for the Paranoid.' These songs make me incredibly sad. But so do every other song on this album. But with most of Mojave 3s songs, after the onslaught of heart wrenching melodies, in comes the relief in how beautiful that exact feeling of emptiness is. Humble is a word I'd choose for each and every one of these songs (especially for 'Got My Sunshine', this being the most happy-go-lucky song in the album for the sake of being humble with what you have rather than what you believe you need.)

𖦹 I honestly haven't listened to a lot of Fleetwood Mac, but if I were to choose a favorite of the handful of songs I have heard, it would be the entire 'Mystery to Me' album... BUT my second favorite would be 'Landslide.' This song has so much nostalgic love from me, its lyrics and composition being just half the reason. This song captures your mind and takes it on a long road trip with your family, or your friends, or even your cousins. You have just got back from the first stop at the gas station, you got a bag of chips and a nice cool drink and have your headphones in. Looking out the window, you see the passing, rural, landscape. It's cold outside, but you feel warm all the while.
Tumblr media
𖦹 ANYWAYS. In all seriousness, the way this song feels so country-esc yet not at all in the same instance. The whole music is almost like a homing beacon to who you really are compared to who you flaunt yourself to be. Stitching up your flayed skin, each stich filled with life's experiences and the love and loss of those around you. Nothing is worse than change, but what is love worth if not to change yourself in the hopes of holding another's' heart in your hands? The clock keeps ticking, and so are you.

✸ LAST NIGHT IN SOHO...
𖦹 Today, I watched 'Last Night In Soho' today. This movie was BRILLIANT. I loved the complexity yet simplicity of it all so much. The movie is about Eloise, an aspiring fashion designer who moves on from living in her grandmother's house to be a student at a fashion school in London. There, she becomes alienated and bullied from the other students due to her social differences and her own struggles with an apparent mental illness. Done with being bullied inside of her own dorm, she rents out a room inside of an old lady's house. There, she discovers that each time she sleeps in that bed, she dreams/envisions being sent back in time to the 1960's, where a woman named Sandy is on her way up in her dreams of getting a name for herself. Yet each time Eloise dreams of Sandy, things become darker and darker, enveloping Ellies life outside of her bed almost entirely as she unfolds the mystery of Sandy's life. 𖦹 My biggest takeback from this movie, was how beautifully choreographed most of the scenes were and how much I had enjoyed the soundtrack and casting. Overall, I didn't care too much for the ending, but most of the plot twists were pretty jarring! I really enjoy the deeply developed message of the danger behind fame and climbing your way up to the top, especially for women in the 60s. This movie also compares the two struggles for fame by showing Ellie's own struggle to get people to care for her craft as well. This movie very much strikes you with disgust for the characters that are generally distasteful and generally bad. The realism when it comes to the discriminatory behavior towards women in industry is shown in this movie as well, it truly captivates you and makes you feel so deeply for the characters. Definitely worth the watch.

𖦹 'Narrator' by Squid is a song I was recommended to listen to quite a while back. It's an 8 minute song that is about being your own person despite your apparent differences. What I really love about this song is its instruments and two different singers, one masculine and one feminine. Their contrast makes me feel like it's as if there's some sort of inner battle with expected stereotypes for people, this can be shown in most of the lyrics said by the feminine voice.
Tumblr media
𖦹 After fully listening to all 8 minutes, it's safe to say that this song truly feels like what it is to practically lose yourself in the search of looking for yourself, falling into conformity while longing to breach the surface to make yourSELF known. The last 4 minutes really emphasize the longing, by repeating the lyric "I'll play mine" over and over again. It could also be seen from various different aspects, like maybe a battle with what is expected of someone different from their family, wanting to pretend to be the same in order for safety/solitude. This song is beautiful and worth a listen, especially if you're a fan of the bands Rinse & Repeat, Devo, and Will Wood & The Tapeworms.

𖦹 Oh my goodness okay, just a quick discussion post now that I'm on the roll with posting batjokes content. WHY CANT PEOPLE ENJOY MULTISHIPPING!!!!????? I think that as long as your not proshipping characters, have fun with your own opinions of the relationships between characters!!! Media is there for enjoyment and everyone elses own ways of perceiving things, and thats how its made to be. Every now and then some batcat shippers and talia x batman shippers (sometimes even people who ship batman and wonderwoman) come in and yell at everyone that is a batjokes fan about how 'unrealistic' or 'unhealthy' the ship is, forgetting that at most times, thats the point that makes the ship so incredibly interesting and fun! I personally am a multishipper because I find it very fun to see the different variants, wether or not the ship is queer or straight, its always fun to indulge in many perspectives of one peice of media. I personally do not favor batcat except in certain comics, because otherwise they too are an unhealthy couple in the way that doesn't have any interest, or meaning, to it! (In my opinion at least.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
𖦹 By the way, my favorites are batjokes, superbat, bruharvey, batman x plasticman, and many many more!! :DD (Let people enjoy media the way they want and I promise that it wont ruin your own ships, most important thing about liking something is that you are having fun alone or in your own community!!!) (Pls dont argue in the comments!!!)
Tumblr media
For those who don’t know, pro shipping is shipping two characters no matter what/without bounds. This means even if there’s age gaps (ped0philia), family relation (incest), and more inappropriate things about the characters themselves.
