HUMANITY OVER PRIDE ( PART 5 )
But she was convinced to continue to live because that would give inugami’s sacrifice meaning but that was not simply the reason, as inugami’s aunt convinced her in a way which actually is a throwback to the past of inugami and its true meaning,
The “ jaws of death “ here is a very interesting choice of words, remember, inugami was saved by them after his parents died, not during the event when his cabin was burned, which can imply that they saved him from loneliness and suicide, which they once again served their purpose with aoshika,
“ A wolf can never ignore a sorrowful cry into the deep night “
And at last the promise was kept, as if it were destiny, and it was since aoshika was the reason inugami kept on struggling and found a purpose to live
TLDR :-
You are never alone in this world ! There is always someone out there that can understand and relate to you, and when you find them, you can finally let go of your burdens and the world around you , it is not a shame to sacrifice your pride to save someone else’s or your own humanity because in that lies true honor and what it means to be a human
CLOSING STATEMENT :-
Thank you for reading my analysis, once again i would like to remind you that this is my opinion / interpretation, you are free to disagree and state your own opinions but yes this ship is so beautifully written i am willing to look past the age gap, and if you want to shun me that’s fine as well, you are entitled to your own opinion, have a nice day !

HUMANITY OVER PRIDE ( PART 4 )
This was the arc where inugami’s humanity truly peaked, it didn't just come out of nowhere but it was built up as well, like for example, here:-
Other people were noticing the change and he himself too, to the point where he and tadokoro sensei would call him " a member of the human race "
Later on in the arc, inugami would witness the abhorring site of aoshika getting sexually assaulted by haguro’s men, and she would converse with him
The pain of losing your pride and that being witnessed by the one you love was too much for aoshika, but it was not just that because she would fear that the only person who she can relate to and be understood by would come to hate her, treat her differently not to mention that she viewed inugami as someone with as she claimed “ staggering pride “ that without certainty he would judge her, and also how inugami could relate to one more thing :-
“ Ever since i was a kid, I’ve been picked on “
It was something inugami felt his entire lifetime, and aoshika reached her breaking point :-
This was the most heartbreaking moment of the manga, she didn’t consider herself worth it of his efforts because she thought she had fallen so low in inugami’s eyes that he was too good for her and if he came to rescue her it would mean risking his life, the life she considered of a value higher than her own
All hope was lost…. or so we thought,
For aoshika it was despair, but it awoke hope inside inugami to save her even more than before
For the first time in his life, inugami has something to live for, someone to save
He would eventually come face to face with her,
This is a very symbolic page as it shows two people at their lowest point confronting each other, inugami who was hanging for his life by a thread and aoshika who had lost all reason to live once she saw the man she admired so much witness her “ dirty “ state ( claimed by her, not me )
At this moment she wanted to die and be left alone, thinking likely that if inugami were to touch or come near her she would ruin him as well, a feeling well known by him which he understands
But she is comforted knowing that he didnt think of her differently and didnt blame her for the assault,
Its very rare to see in a relationship where the other would believe the one risking his life rather than continuously telling them to stop, it wasn’t that aoshika didn’t care for inugami but at that point she completely trusted him to the point that he would do anything he set his mind to since she didn’t expect him to come save her in the first place
And in return she is willing to do the same, she walked over the pieces of glass to save inugami who had endured much more physical injuries but…. how brave was aoshika to go to the place where she was assaulted which would remind her of the events to grab the gun to save inugami
It is also worth noticing how brave she truly is which is a throwback to one of the things inugami prefers, she truly is different in his eyes
And at the end of the arc she chose to believe in inugami due to the fact that she was convinced at that point that she had become his reason to live and fight
And you could say the same about her, inugami became her reason to live as well…

HUMANITY OVER PRIDE ( PART 3 )
After learning that aoshika was sexually assaulted, he truly begin to understand her. Judging by his reactions, it would be clear that he couldn't believe that at first but it slowly made sense to him, the sense of loss of pride, curiosity, loneliness, accepting the other, he finally had a vague idea of what she went through, what she desires and what she sees in him
This is the moment where you can say inugami fell for aoshika, he finally found the person who could understand him.
…but at the same moment despite longing for understanding and affection, he chose to stay away
yet returning it in the time of importance
And let’s not forget how ironic was this moment :-
Inugami is willing to throw away his pride for the sake of his humanity to save aoshika
This is also done by aoshika without her knowing what inugami did, she threw away her pride and bear the pain that was inflicted on her to save inugami in an emotional and mental sense of state
Speaking of affection and acceptance,
Inugami was first accepted into the alaskan environment by the wolves, this seems unrelated at first until you notice that inugami has moved his environment several times however there lies one difference, this time unlike the wolves there is no one to accept him until he thought of her…
This is a very important aspect of the story and that's why inugami was able to understand aoshika when she was captured by haguro, after the release of the video tape of her assault there too would be no one to accept her,
But inugami would,
And the reason is self evident in the images above, she would never blame inugami for what happened at the school and to other students, and she is even willing to forgive her despite him being the reason she was dragged into the assault
You would think she would hate him for this, right ?
But….is it really surprising that aoshika is willing to forgive and even save inugami not only because she can understand and relate to him so much but also because he came to rescue her ? Which he could have not have if he stuck to his sense of pride and wolf nobility, in this moment, inugami was more human than anyone else
THE IMPORTANCE OF THE FINAL ARC
The final arc starts with aoshika getting kidnapped by haguro, at this moment when inugami receives the news he is in denial to save aoshika since he at this point truly believes if he tries to help others he is bound to make them suffer later, until his conscious human side says this :-
Its pretty ironic considering his mentality in the first few chapters
What really changed in inugami was just like how aoshika didnt want him to isolate and get depressed, he too didnt her to die since she would have no reason to live

HUMANITY OVER PRIDE ( PART 2 )
7. THE RELATION TO THEIR TRAUMA'S
Ok this topic is a little long but i assure you its worth it,
Aoshika’s severe trauma reminds her that she is truly lonely and is expected to behave normally after this, the lines in the images tell a lot :-
" …….AHH I DO ALWAYS SHUT MYSELF UP LIKE THIS. ALWAYS SUPPRESS ANY RAW EMOTION THAT MIGHT FORCE ME TO LOSE MYSELF. "
And what does inugami do ?
Although its not as severe as aoshika’s, its a similar feeling and condition, despite being under different circumstances another feeling that could be related is to move to another place or exile themselves due to trauma and guilt
“ NO ONE ELSE WILL TAKE YOU “
“ NO ONE WILL SHOW UP TO ACCEPT YOU “
Now it is no wonder as to why she wanted to know how someone like inugami lives his life with such pride and how he was raised, perhaps you could say that aoshika looked up to inugami
Further evidence for her wanting to embrace together with inugami,
she would delve into a dream like state thinking she wouldn't be able to meet the only person who could relate to her and understand her
However its interesting that what happens during this arc is also quite the opposite to what she can relate to,
When inugami was hailed as a hero and looked up to in the school, it piqued aoshika’s curiosity, she who had been walking a thin line of hope and trust suggested inugami to open up to other humans, you could in a sense say it was her desire to watch him grow and also admire him by watching him struggle through it, something that she couldn’t do
After all this, there is the one dreadful moment, the thing that they could most relate to with each other “ the feeling of guilt “ even though it was not their mistake
They felt guilty and blamed themselves but was it really their fault ? I don’t think so, being judged by the world around them for the things they can’t control is what they relate to the most
Which is why aoshika loathes whenever someone calls inugami a jinxed person
This really affected aoshika as inugami for the first time showed a sense of guilt for something he wasn't at fault
You can tell how frustrated she feels here, it was due to the fact that inugami is willing to blame himself just as she would for her assault which was not her fault but also how inugami is willing to go into isolation and shut himself off like how she did, it was painful for her to see such a man she can relate with stoop so low
Later she would go on to realize that how much she can relate with him to the point she begins to like him
8. SENSE OF PRIDE AND AFFECTION
I have been addressing mostly how aoshika was able to understand inugami but now its time to address the other way around as well

HUMANITY OVER PRIDE ( PART 1 )
Hello everyone, greetings ! This is an analysis i have written to explain the relationship of Inugami and Aoshika from the manga “ wolf guy “, despite the surrounding controversy with it which i agree with as well, this analysis here will explain to you why the respective relationship is a gem, of course this is my analysis and without a doubt my opinion, you are free to disagree and drop your own comments and thoughts, but….maybe it won’t hurt once in a while to give a controversial relationship a chance right ? Also english isn’t my first language, pardon me if i end up making grammer mistakes, anyways now to start the analysis, it will involve their trauma’s, understanding of each other, willingness to accept each other and devotion regarding physical and emotional means, this is a rough analysis with a rough order so any help to arrange it to seem more presentable is welcome, some of the panels i address might not be in order and some may be over-reaching, and most of all some panels will involve nudity and assault which i have tried my best to censor and at the same time to relay its meaning and message,
AND THE MOST IMPORTANT PART, YOU MUST HAVE READ THE ENTIRE STORY TILL THE ENDING TO BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND THIS !
Now to start off with the analysis :-
HOW AOSHIKA AND INUGAMI MET :-
If you have read the manga till the end or even in the later arc’s you would notice that inugami doesn't care what happens to the humans considering his past and present, however he went on his way to help aoshika here, its not a huge detail or a moment, but its a detail worth suggesting that inugami didn’t despise all humans, which i will address to later in this analysis
2. AOSHIKA'S FIRST TRAUMATIC EVENT AND INUGAMI'S INSTINCTS :-
In the first dispute or fight of inugami with the gangsters, aoshika is reminded of her past trauma of being assaulted and faints to which inugami who in the later arcs admits that transforming into a werewolf is not worth it for these petty humans and yet chooses to use this power to protect her,….. but why would he do that ? It is without a doubt later evident in later arcs and even before the revelation that wolves cannot ignore a cry of sorrow in the night, it is in their nature…
3. INUGAMI'S PERCEPTION OF HUMAN'S AND THE CHANGE WITHIN :-
A few chapters later we then learn how inugami despises the humans not just for the fact what they did to his family when he was a child but also how no matter what they cannot differ or change from each other until the last image of a person is shown in his mind, that person being aoshika once again, to which he wonders why he would save her that day , readers would mistake it for him being only giving this special care and treatment to aoshika, but this would be proven wrong later on as he would go out his way to save the life of chiba, a gangster by standards but he was different in heart and mind from all those thugs, which is deemed worthy of inugami’s help, indeed love and companionship are different and yet same at one moment
4. AOSHIKA'S CURIOSITY FOR INUGAMI'S PRIDE :-
After aoshika learns that inugami has been hurt, shunned and targeted by others around him for being different, aoshika wonders as to just what could possibly maintain his pride and self esteem, she couldn't be blamed for her curiosity as she is a sexual assault victim who initially and later on thought to herself being robbed of her pride, and thought to herself that she in a situation similar to inugami’s wouldn't have been able to handle to it, being shunned and targeted by the world around her if they ever knew the truth about her tragedy, so how can he act so bold and calm accompanied by a unique charm ? This is the linchpin or the definitive starting point to their relationship
And its once again shown in another point in the story, how could such a boy who has been isolated and damaged by humans be so calm and bold in front a hundreds of their kind ?
Aoshika would still wonder as to how is such a boy able to maintain his composure in this situation where she might not have been able to
5. INUGAMI'S BAD OMEN AND AOSHIKA'S DESPERATE EFFORT :-
Later on aoshika would visit inugami’s guardian regarding his condition and his environment to which she is caught by surprise at the news that she should stay away from him as he invites tragedy to the lives of those he associates with which is also said by inugami later on, however she would be not willing to accept it for the fact that once again if the people around her knew that she was sexually assaulted in the past, they would consider her miserable, a bad image and someone others should stay away for which she blames herself for all this, a similar feeling shared by inugami despite the circumstances being quite different, thus she would show sympathy and curiosity to his condition, inugami states that he only wishes to live a life in solitary which is exactly how aoshika was living, being abandoned by her parents and her ex husband, she wanted to see the troubled expression of his behind that staggering pride of a face for she might have thought it was a facade just like how she is a different person with her trauma accompanying the back of her mind, soon after this his thoughts quickly change :-
The lines said here “ Ms. aoshika is the type that sprints “ which would mean that she is willing to help anyone
And the next line “ and through that trips spectacularly… “ which would mean that she is willing to throw herself at someone’s problems to help them,
Inugami truly regretted what he said because he considered her intentions as noble
As the story further goes onward, it is worth noting that aoshika cannot separate herself from a person who is shunned by the world around him/her
This is a very similar situation to how inugami related to wolves cannot ignore a sorrowful cry in the night
6. CONFLICT, HATE AND REGRET :-
Inugami would reject her advances which would later on hurt her clearly giving the intended idea that she was being despised, in one of the panels it is shown as if she were like a piece of glass or window and it was cracked by inugami, the last thing a victim of sexual assault would want is to be despised for their behaviour from other people, the differentiation truly harmed her, inugami remaining ignorant/oblivious to her trauma couldnt figure out what made her cry but at the same time, was inugami to be blamed ? A being so isolated from humans and companionship ever since he was a child is suddenly ushered in it, would then begin to cherish that outburst and want more which is what he wanted to avoid in the first place as evident later on
