Sukugo is not a rare ship btw, I see all the time people categorizing Sukugo as a "crack ship" when it's not. The whole Shinjuku fight was their dynamic, and the way they had so many intimate moments in the fight.

"You were magnificent"

And not to mention, Gege use the jjk powersystem as a way of characterization and Gojo's infinity was a metaphor for his loneliness as the strongest and the fact that Sukuna was the first one to cut through it shows how the whole fight was just those two searching familiarity between each other

I think this is enough for people to see Sukugo as a solid ship.

Gojo has a ridicuclous following and Sukuna is his cryptid boyfriend you see in the background sometimes.

why is it that skg fans always have to make a disclaimer that they’re aware sukuna and gojo are not “actually” in love and they just enjoy their dynamic in order to… yk… not be harassed?

multiple people who’ve had read the manga (including the ones who can actually read japanese) have mentioned their romantic speech and the charged undertones of their confrontation. these two characters have always been linked to each other due to their unique status in the jujutsu society and their core struggle with loneliness and have admitted to enjoy and appreciate each other in some way, even though they’re enemies.

and there are ships in this fandom, which are more popular, but are also pretty one sided and have significantly less romantic undertones or whose shippers base their romance on additional anime only scenes. yet their fans don’t have to emphasize that it’s a “joke ship” solely bc the characters they ship are on the same team and are slightly amicable with each other.

thinking about how to Gojo, love is “the most twisted curse of them all”, and that’s what he wields to battle Sukuna, leaving him with a broken heart and so much openings that guarantee his kids’ chance at winning in the end.

because “curses can only be exorcised by another curse”.

after Gojo died, there are 5 or 6 instances where they use something along the line of “Sukuna couldn’t do this & that because of his battle with Gojo”, hell even Sukuna himself admitted that.

And the thing is i think Sukuna didn’t realize that. He thought Gojo was greedy for also going on about the love and solitude route, he didn’t realize Gojo viewed Love differently from Yozoru and Kashimo. to Gojo LOVE IS A CURSE.

Sukuna didn’t realize Gojo was putting a curse on him.

You know, it used to haunt me for years what kind of curse Gojo would become in a cursed AU… but i think i know now.

It’s Love. It’s Love all this time. The abandoned Love that withered and fell in a garden of deep purple, as fleeting as the seasons.
