Tree Base Klear Karts

When I went to my local shop I noticed a few brands of vape cartridges that I had never seen before. I asked my budtender which he would recommend and he pointed me directly to Tree Base. I was amazed at how clear the oil was! For $40 a .5 gram, it is more on the expensive side, but the way the budtender’s eyes lit up when he spoke about the product made me feel that I couldn’t let this one go.

Cartridge Review:

I only used on cartridge so far, but it hits very smooth. It can be a little surprising if you aren’t prepared, because you will get a much bigger hit that other vape carts without feeling the burn. At 83.1% thc (Agent Orange), it doesn’t get me as high as I was expecting. That being said, I enjoyed smoking this one as it didn’t make me cough quite as much as some other brands. For a moderate smoker, this cartridge should last a solid 5 - 14 days.

Flavor Review:

Agent Orange:

I can’t explain how much I love this flavor! I don’t know how many people did this, but it tastes like when you crush up smarties and inhale them to pretend to smoke (I did that in elementary, anyways). It is very sweet and light. There is a hint of citrus, but mostly it just tastes like candy. Maybe comparable to the orange Runts. This cartridge gets a 5/5 for flavor!

710 King Pen

I have used these cartridges before, and generally I like them. I have been smoking on one flavor, Lemon Haze, for the week and really like the taste. This brand was never one that I went out of my way for. 

That being said, I saw that High Times crowned 710 King Pen’s “Gelato” cartridge as the number 1 vape cartridge of 2017. Immediately I knew that I had to go to the shop and grab it. The cartridges at my shop were priced at $35 for .5 g, or $55 for 1 g. Naturally, I asked for the 1 g cartridge and was handed two for $55. Not quite what I was expecting, but it worked anyways.

Cartridge Review:

This cartridge does its job. I took three puffs from it on the drive home and was super high. It doesn’t take a lot, so its very convenient if you don’t have a lot of time. These have a lingering waxy smell, so it isn’t the most discreet. The oil is thick but not solid, and it heats up well on a normal cigarette store battery.

Flavor Review: 

Lemon Haze:

Lemon Haze has a sweet, lemony taste (no kidding). It leaves a warm feeling in your mouth, if that makes sense. It does have a kind of waxy after taste, but it’s still better than smoking unflavored oil (unpopular opinion, I know). Overall, it would be a 3/5 to me based on flavor alone.

Gelato:

I have never been so disappointed. The taste of this pen was something I can describe as nothing other than burnt hair. I hit it five separate times and that’s all I could taste. The smell was also unpleasant. I considered it could just be the cartridge not working right or something, so I tried the other one. The second one had a much more pleasant taste than the first one, but it wasn’t spectacular. It’s weird because the cartridge itself smells sweet, but the taste does not match the smell. It’s almost chemically, like it is Windex flavored. I don’t get a waxy taste at all. I thought maybe the battery was too hot (even though Lemon Haze tasted fine), but when I put it on an adjustable battery at the lowest setting it tasted pretty much the same, just more subtle. I would definitely recommend Brass Knuckles Gelato over this one, which is the same price.

Delta9 Vape Pens

I consider myself sort of a vape pen connoisseur, despite the fact that I’m a mediocre stoner. That being said, I never tried the Delta9 products and was immediately interested when they appeared at my local dispensary after a long hiatus. My boyfriend picked up a battery ($20) and fruit punch cartridge ($40) for me. I didn’t look far into the product, so I didn’t know what to expect. The battery is like any other cheap vape battery, so I wouldn’t recommend buying it unless you are worried about the top looking tacky on your other batteries. Since the cartridge is so weirdly shaped, I wouldn’t bring it in public unless matched closely to fit on a battery. 

Cartridge Review:

The thing that I noticed first about these cartridges is that it is very runny. Every time I hit it I get a huge puff. While it feels really smooth while you hit it, I notice it gets rougher with the exhale. I almost always am hacking after hitting this pen, but again, I’m a mediocre stoner. I don’t notice a real head change until about the third hit, but when you notice it, it is very strong. It almost creeps up on you in a way. The flavors themselves are very tasty, and seem to change each time you hit them (though that could just be me getting more stoned). If you begin to heat the oil before you inhale, it will burn and give off a rubbery taste, so that is something to be careful about. This pen will last a moderate smoker about 3-7 days.

Flavor Review:

Fruit punch has a very tropical taste to it, and it is almost reminiscent of childhood. The effects of this one are less strong than the other ones I have tried, but it leaves me with a pretty chill high. The flavors range from sweet candy to strawberry cake, and it leaves a pleasant smell in the air.

Winter fresh was definitely not the flavor I expected. At first, it tasted exactly like that cheap but tasty chocolate and green mint candy you get from restaurants. Sometimes it loses that chocolate taste and takes on more of a spearmint flavor. It leaves a fresh flavor in your mouth. This one was definitely my favorite out of the three I tried, due to the high it produced. 

This cartridge costs $50 rather than the normal $40, and I can’t say it felt worth it. While it has an interesting, almost milkshake like flavor, I noticed I get a lot of burnt taste from this one. It happens enough that it takes away from the flavor. It’s possible I just got a dud cartridge, but that rubbery flavor seems to creep in behind the strawberry/banana flavor.
