What if Hanma decided he was bored of working for you and left Kisaki?

The idea of Hanma leaving... hurt. Not in the way that a normal blow to the ego hurt, either. This was a different kind of hurt; the kind that felt like his heart was being strangled, and twisted his stomach into knots at the same time. Tetta did his best to keep the pain from showing on his face, but he couldn’t guarantee a flawless mask while his insides were torturing him. Of all the people to walk out of his life, Hanma was one he hadn’t expected to ever see leave. 

He didn’t ever want to see him leave. A harsh truth that he couldn’t just admit to out loud. Hanma was his pawn -- his chess piece to use until he’d managed to win the game for good. Although, even after he’d gained so much money and power, he still couldn’t stand the thought of losing his long-time partner. Maybe if he’d left when they were younger, it would have been okay; but now? They’d established everything from a work routine to a home together. How could that kind of bond just walk away from him?

“You don’t know what you’re talking about.” It was easiest to pretend his ego had gotten the best of him. No one would leave him. No one could hate him. No one could get bored of him. It didn’t make sense why any of that mattered with Hanma, since they’d only been using each other since a young age. At least, that had been the original agreement: Kisaki needed a puppet capable of destruction, and Hanma needed someone to keep him entertained. How had it become so much more than that without him even noticing? 

“He knows leaving me is the same as signing a death wish. He knows better than to think walking away doesn’t come with consequences.”
