A song steeped in history. The truth must be heard.
A song for the ladies 6 years later getting their pension. What was done is cruel. Their independence and dignity stole away from them.
The lyrics very carefully chosen. The video a perfect backdrop. Something similar happening today.

I know it’s not entirely a Game of Play topic but we wanted to share the success with you.
It’s the same level of success we would like to see The Game of Play experiencing.
The Game of Play has been proved to be great fun and inspirational.
We are testing an experimental play. We expect to see it performed in October.
The actors are looking for experience. The warm up process invited The Game of Play to be used. It’s all about auditioning different methods of audition topics. The fun has brought us together as a team and a family.
What is amazing is how much fun this can be for everyone. Discover more skills of interest, use it for fun or for skill development for whatever you want.
I am using my success and experience in the arts and singing to help with supporting others by supporting their cause. Yes it’s Gina and John also known as GinJo who are the creators and developers of The Game of Play.
It would be much appreciated if you could become The Game of Play members. Message maybe or email. Thank you
The song and the video are on this link:

Our story about how we made The Game of Play during lockdown will be out on video very soon. Yikes!
Did we believe Covid was going to ever end?
I really had no idea but being confined to your home indefinitely meant we had to have something to keep interest going in all things entertainment.
All the world’s a stage and we are merely players. That’s it, we are in a game. A game of life. Adults/actors on stage are playing. Just like young people do in the garden.
This game you can play at a party. It can be used in an audition workshop to find people for your next play. Just have fun with it. Families, everyone can PLAY! One little twist, you do have to win the DAFTA to win the game.
The first twenty people to pledge for the game will receive a free poster special.
We really want to kickstart it. We don’t have enough funds to distribute it for Xmas.
Like this post if you think you’d be interested in pledging.

It was a lovely afternoon with our new team for the next production.
Some of them are excited.
It was lovely meeting up with Kieran again. I see a future mapped out for him with that amazing voice of his. He’s still a bubble of fun!

It was lovely to be taken out by a friend met during twitter’s 1950s born women pension scandal. And my husband. I can’t and won’t go out without him. He’s my rock and my unpaid carer. He received his pension October last year.
My friend and I are both victims of the pension theft and both of us are disabled. I thought about payment difference between someone disabled and someone not. I don’t take up a seat. I sit in my wheel chair.
My friend had two good tickets but my husband didn’t. He had to pay £36 to stay near me. That’s OK. But we would not have been able to afford to pay £72 for both of us. It has left me with questions:
How are women my age, 65, looking after their well-being and their health?
Are they getting out and about this summer? I’m lucky enough to have a caring partner, but not all women have that.
Did the government consult on this topic before stealing hard earned and paid for womens’ pensions?
There were 3.8 Million of us at the time we were disgracefully not informed we would not be receiving our pension until we are 66. I’m 66 in December but it will possibly be January 2024.
There are now less than 3.8 million of these women. Almost 300.000 have died.
Where has their money gone?
The pension pot was raided.
I’ll follow up on this blog next week. Thank you for reading.

I remember working very near the old Manchester City football Club. I really felt for them being low down the scale of things.
Look at them now. They are a perfect example of working together as a team. Who owns them is irrelevant. They siphon the cream off the money that’s involved.
It’s still a delight seeing where they are now. Next to the street where I was born.
I used to sing in their football club. Got ever closer. Is there a connection?

I know, it’s a bit battered!
Me and Jo. GinJo have reached the third age and third stage of our journey. Part of that journey is blogging about whatever we find. This poster in the shed will have a life as long as possible with us. The memory however will be poignant for the producers of Flim Nite and their audience. It was a successful monthly event at 3MT. This was the night the electric dived. We carried on. Jake came to the rescue, our grandson.
We had a great time at The Empty Space with Summer Dreaming the Musical. All of us enjoyed ourselves. It was lovely to end the second phase of our journey. I wish it wasn’t but it has to be.
We began our journey at 3MT with Mia in Getting Better by Dave Puller: it has ended with Mia playing Hermia in Summer Dreaming. There’s a fabulous newsletter from John on the home page of: Http://www.manchestershakespearecoorg
It’s so lovely finding this review on Twelve nights. It’s 100% correct. And still a favourite of ours alongside Summer Dreaming.
Watch out for GinJo and Mandy on their spaces and places travels. This review is a treasure we found. The Flim Nite poster is a treasure too. We hope they are for you.

How many times have you skipped a competition you know in your heart of hearts you will win?
Is it the exposure of standing in front of about 6k people you don’t know? Do you wonder what they’ll think?
Do you wish you had a coach you could rely on? An influencer maybe? Flawless makeup?
I could go on. I know, I’ve been to audition after audition. Once I accepted constructive criticism, I started getting the pro contracts.
The best thing I could tell you is, if you have 24.99. Buy yourself The Game of Play. It will change your life.

Compassion Poem by Robert William Service
Service (1874-1958) was a British-Canadian poet, who penned this simple but generous-hearted poem about the importance of giving, compassion – kindness. ‘For God knows it is good to give; / We may not have so long to live, / So if we can, / Let’s do each day a kindly deed, / And stretch a hand to those in need, / Bird, beast or man.’
So much of my life has been thinking about others. The pleasure I feel is lovely when this happens.
It hurts me to believe someone could hurt me as much as they did. We all have ups and downs in our lives but this felt like a personal attack. My only crime. Being born in the 1950s. I Worked hard and have paid in all the dues I needed to pay for my pension.
My husband has his. I have sicknesses from head to toe.

I’m tweeting until the end of the year about not receiving my pension as promised 5 years ago.
I started work at 16. I didn’t go to uni because I couldn’t afford it. That means I worked more years than the average young person today who go to uni.
Our take home pay after tax and national insurance contributions was low compared to today. You see we had to pay contributions towards our pension. I always paid a full not a married woman’s contribution. In the 70s it was hard for a woman to get a job. It was the advent of supermarkets that supplied jobs for women. Part time. They worked well with childcare commitments.
Stating that a pension is a benefit is a utter lie. I spent my life trying to improve my job prospects until eventually, I could earn a professional rate of pay. I stepped up the ladder in my 50s.
The Tories eliminated music and the arts from further education college choice of subjects. It left me with lower hours after 6 years of enjoying my new world. Downsizing and moving to the city where I was born, was the only option for both of us.
Looking for work in your 50s is a nightmare. You’ll always get a job as a cleaner or In hospitality. As a professional i didn’t want this. Neither did my husband.
Discovering I had dangerous long term illnesses made this new and unwanted journey worse.
We took a risk and with the Help of Afflecks and Bruntwood we opened a space to develop the arts and music.
It was a success. 3MT became a popular place with younger people in particular as somewhere where they could develop their art and music.
Without my pension to help support us, which I was expecting to receive and my life changing health issues, it had to be closed.
We were offered apprenticeships by the Tories.
I was diagnosed autistic at 58. What next? Things got worse. I won’t bore you with that.
