How can one make the basic high school life feel more extraordinary and historical? Also, Im in love with your page

find beauty in the little moments: the feeling of a fresh black ink pen bleeding into the paper, the satisfaction of finding the particular book you’ve searched for in the library, stifling giggles and smiles as you pass secret or coded notes, the weight of a heavy wool jacket or blazer as you walk to class

study interests outside of class and explore them: read and recite ancient Greek tragedies to yourself or classmates in the secluded fields behind campus, write the date of your notes in another language, listen to classical music you’ve never heard before and sink within the unfamiliar yet haunting melodies

i appreciate this aesthetic but there’s something qwhite problematic about the demographics represented in most of the posts

and i get that this is reflective of existing inequality in irl academia and the positions of privilege occupied by those within it

regularly writing shitty poems in the notes app on your phone for a couple of years will eventually result in writing some decent poems in the notes app on your phone and I’m not saying that you have to write a good poem to justify the shitty ones or that it’s only worth doing if you publish something eventually I’m just tired of people apparently feeling like they have to take a normal part of the learning process and play it off as a joke as though you’re only allowed to write shitty poems if you had no ambition to write anything better: write shitty poems but dare to improve; face the growing pains of making something beautiful.

It’s official, I have reblogged everything Interesting and Aesthetic TM that was posted in the 6 hours I slept & the 1 hour I was awake and not on Tumblr. I will now hibernate, making OC sporadically for the next 6 hours until I can have 10 minutes of joy and confusion again.

That being said, like / reblog (from your DA blog) if you’re an active dark academia blog so this doesn’t happen, and I can have 20 whole minutes of scrolling in the morning rather than 10 :’(

People assume academia is all tweed blazers, gothic arches, Ozymandis and tea cups, but in truth it’s more oversized t-shirts, coffee-stained desks, never having enough highlighters and daily mental breakdowns 🤷🏼‍♀️
