Fahed (@/fahed-2) & Reem (@/reem-reem-0), fled south together with their children & their children's grandmother. Fahed's sister's family of 5 fled south as well, and the 13 of them remained together. But after 14 months of surviving hell as a unit (and nearly reaching their campaign goal) the family is now facing one of the worse decisions imaginable: who will be able to evacuate Gaza and who will be forced to stay behind.

There may be an opportunity for evacuation soon, but they're bracing for separation, with Fahed staying behind with his sister and her family. It's hard enough reunifying in Gaza, but with the border with Egypt between them, there's no telling when (or if) they'll ever see each other again. It shouldn't be a choice this family has to make: who survives, who may not. Their kids shouldn't be forcibly separated from their dad, nor Reem from her husband.

Fahed & Reem are some of the kindest, gentlest people ever, and their kids are dazzling, just absolute sweethearts. They've all lost so much and experienced too much, and somehow, kept finding a way to endure.

My name is Rami Al-Ajrami, and I am a devoted father from Gaza. At 35 years old, I am proud of my three beautiful children: Elaine, 7 years old, Kinda, 3 years old, and my precious son Nasser, 4 years old.

I work in the field of electricity. I was away from my family for many years to work so that I could build our beautiful home. The war came and destroyed all my hard work and work over the past years. It was lost in the blink of an eye, and with it the beautiful memories of my home and family. They were reduced to piles of rubble.

In addition to that, I had a small shop that sold electrical appliances, which served as a source of income for me and my family as well. Unfortunately, my shop was completely destroyed and I became without a source of income.

In the midst of this miserable situation, my heart aches for my son Nasser, who is 4 years old. My child, Nasser, was born without a thyroid gland, and doctors discovered this late, which negatively affected his mental and physical development. Before the war, he was receiving treatment in private rehabilitation centers, and now he is in poor condition without care or even the minimum requirements of life, such as medicine, food, clean water, clothes, milk, and pampers.💔

"A single packet of Nescafe goes for around $1.30. A kilogram (2 pounds) of onions goes for $10, a medium bottle of cooking oil for $15 — if available. Meat and chicken all but vanished from the markets months ago, but there are still some local vegetables. Such sums are astronomical in an impoverished territory where few people earn regular incomes."

This is the harsh reality for Mohammed Al-Habil, @alhabil, (#166). The prices for food and other basic necessities have increased on a hourly basis, making it impossible for him to purchase and have a proper meal for his family of 6. It also doesn't help that his 3 young children, Ahmed (8), Osama (6), and Mira (4) have been infected with scabies over the summer and they have still have it to this day! It would have been cured with antibiotics, but similar to the pricing of food, the prices for medication has been going up and up! This also includes insulin for his elderly parents as they are diabetics!

My name is Ahmed. I work as an accountant for a private company in Gaza. I am 27 years old and got married on August 21, 2023. Our marriage began with love and hope as we planned our future together. But just a month and a half after our wedding, war broke out in Gaza.

Initially, I lost my job and my only source of income. I tried to stay strong in front of my wife, Nada, but the difficulties grew day by day. A week later, a shell hit our new home, leaving us without shelter. We had no choice but to move to southern Gaza.

We relocated to tents with many other families, starting a journey of displacement that seemed endless. Every time we thought we had found a safe place, the shells would follow us. We were displaced more than seven times, searching for safety and shelter. Nada remained by my side, strong and patient despite all the challenges.

Eventually, we reached Mawasi Khan Younis. There, under the dark sky filled with stars, we tried to rebuild our lives. We lived in a tent, trying to find some security and peace.

Every night, we would sit together, talking about hope and the future. We knew life would never return to how it was, but our love and hope were stronger than anything else. We began working together to rebuild our lives, step by step.

Despite the pain and suffering, we knew that hope was what kept us going. Nada always reminded me that we would be okay as long as we were together. Her words gave me the strength to keep going and made me believe that tomorrow would be better

To cope with the harsh reality of our daily life, we find ourselves trying to make the best of food that should otherwise be deemed unfit for consumption. Flour, often infested with weevils and carrying a musty odor, is made palatable only by adding vanilla and cinnamon. Even more challenging is the fact that we must cook using firewood, as basic resources are scarce. This experience underscores our resilience and the harsh conditions we face to provide even the simplest meals.

what I wish people would understand about fundraising for gaza is that while everyone is desperate and I would never say not to fundraise for or donate to individual families-- I currently fundraise to support multiple friends' families-- the overwhelming narrative I see on Tumblr that the best and most ethical thing you can do is send money to individuals and there is no option for anything else is so so incredibly damaging and inadvertently lends support to the marginalization and distrust of any remaining communal social infrastructure. the sameer project, which you should donate to, talks about this in a recent video they put out. the situation in gaza is unimaginable and everyone is in need of a huge level of support, and yet this fundraising discourse by well-meaning people in the west that donating money to individuals is the only moral way reproduces societal divides wherein resources are directed to people who speak English, who have relationships with people outside of gaza, and who have internet access while hundreds of thousands are left behind.

there ARE non-ngo locally based grassroots initiatives working to meet those needs however they can, and your small donation goes a lot further with them because they are able to buy food/water/supplies in bulk at a reduced price and reach more people with less money. again I'm not saying people shouldn't fundraise for individuals because these initiatives are so limited and many people cannot access them -- but as an example, the group I fundraise with is currently serving people fleeing north gaza who are starving and have nothing, and when we fundraise enough to do cash aid distribution there's so much need that our partners can only distribute 100-200 per large family. and then I go online and see people who have absolutely no understanding of this context at all exclusively working towards raising tens of thousands for just a few people when evacuations haven't been possible for months. it's good to do whatever you can but please consider how this narrative being reproduced among westerners trying to help that there are no other options has the potential to damage groups working towards equity and wider reach however is still possible

If Leander is really a necromancer, imagine if the MC can get knocked unconscious several times during his route. Later you wake up to Leander doting on you in bed, holding your hand while you sleep because he was so worried about you. He says you were hurt during an encounter but he saved you. Wow this search for a cure is so dangerous, maybe you should take a break, let him take care of you some more.

Then somehow you end up in the crypts, in one of his secret hidey-holes, and it's a horror show. Old clothes, cracked bones, bloody limbs half rotting in a chalk circle. And you recognize these pieces. Recognize the pieces of yourself.

Because all those times you lost consciousness? That was you dying. You've died so many times, more times than you know, and every time Leander ripped you back to life because you can't leave him. He won't let you.

Footsteps echo behind you, and you turn to see Leander standing in the doorway. He glances from you to the room, eyes dull as he takes in the damning evidence and your reaction. Then he huffs out a laugh and grins that sweet, charming smile.

"Haha, I'm sorry. You weren't supposed to see that," he says, a bolt of searing magic gathering in the air above his palm. "Don't worry. You won't remember any of this when you wake up"

I am Anas Basil, a recent high school graduate with dreams of pursuing a degree in e-business management and building a career. However, due to my family's financial hardships, I enrolled at Khan Younis Training College (KYTC), affiliated with UNRWA. Sadly, the war has turned the college, once a beacon of hope and education, into a shelter for displaced families, stripping it of its educational purpose.

I completed high school with a 93% average, filled with excitement about continuing my education and securing a job to support my family. But like so many others, the war has shattered those dreams.

My Brother’s Dream: My younger brother, Ahmed, is 14 years old and in the third grade of preparatory school. We’ve always called him "Doctor of the Future" because of his intelligence and his natural talent in mathematics. Unfortunately, this is the second year he has been deprived of schooling due to the conflict.

Our Life in Displacement: The war forced our family to flee to Rafah, where we lived in a tent for several months. Each day, my brother and I would wake up to fetch water, gather wood, and light a fire to prepare food. Survival became our daily task, but we never gave up hope. The conflict affected us deeply, but it did not extinguish our dreams of education and a better future.
