The Internet is a glorious thing, providing hours of entertainment yet unfortunately fuels my attention problems. Mostly I am distracted by alternative music, social justice, magic the gathering, and ninja turtles.

The Twelve Apostles are a collection of limestone stacks in Port Campbell National Park in Victoria, Australia. There are actually only eight left, as the others have fallen due to ocean erosion. They also make a sweet backdrop for snapping pics of your sweetheart. #iloveaustralia #latergram (at The Twelve Apostles)

#Latergram from that time @lborealis and I drove the Great Ocean Road on Australia’s southern coast. Victoria has beautiful white calcium cliffs which have been carved by ocean waves into fantastic coves and damp limestone caves. All leading towards the Twelve Apostles... #iloveaustralia #twelveapostles

Today we gather to reject bigotry, state-sanctioned violence, and child abuse being carried out by the corrupt, cruel, and disgusting Trump regime. The evils of immigration enforcement has been a stain on America since the first immigrants came here 500 years ago to steal land from the native peoples who lived here. Now it ends, today we commit to ending immigration-related violence. Borders are inventions used to excuse violent acts against The Other. The People are waking up to the truth. #Sunrise over Tunks. This place is some kind of magic. A more enchanting weekend I cannot imagine. I mean, just look at that plate! Thirza really knows how to feed her guests. #iloveaustralia #latergram (at Tunkalilla)

She said to me that she’d seen such sunset colors only in paintings, thinking it was merely a watercolor technique. #latergram #iloveaustralia #tunkalilla (at Tunkalilla)

Possibly the most idyllic weekend of my life occurred at Tunkalilla, the rolling pastoral seaside on Australia’s southern coast. We were greeted by scores of wild ‘roos, bounding along the shore in family groups of five or more. They intermingled with the wandering sheep. “The sheep belong to somebody, I certainly didn’t invite them,” declaimed our host Thirza. A wonderful welcome to #Australia, mate! #iloveaustralia #kangaroo #latergram #tripofalifetime (at Tunkalilla)

Cleland Wildlife Park is a treasure. Filled with an array of Australia’s native wildlife who’ve grown fond of humans (probably due to the bags of alfalfa snacks we buy at the front gate) means lots of interactions with bandicoots, wallabies, emus, and kangaroos. They’re such adorably gentle creatures when they feel at ease. Thanks so much to @joannehartstone for taking us! #iloveaustralia #kangaroo (at Cleland Wildlife Park)

Uluru - I have dreamt of walking its circumference since I first learned of it as a child. The largest stone on Earth, Uluru is a truly sublime location, a divinely feminine space, an ineffable presence in the middle of the bleak Outback. It’s curves evoke the living flesh of a slumbering god, it’s hollows contain faces and patterns that shift with the clouds and sunlight. The object has been returned to the Anangu traditional custodians and they requested no one to climb it or photograph certain sections of the stone; we reverently obliged these requests. I want to thank @joannehartstone, @tomkitney and @lborealis for journeying out to see this place, which has long been number one on my personal must-see list. The afternoon walking around it, watching the sun set behind it, howling at the moon as it rose, is not one I shall ever forget. #iloveaustralia #uluru (at Uluru / Ayers Rock)

#Latergram - the morning of March 30 we ventured to Kata Tjuta (meaning “Many Heads” in Anangu) which is a rock formation of 36 large domes of stone located about twenty kilometers west of Uluru. A sacred male space to the Anangu, Kata Tjuta contains a multitude of shaded valleys between the enormous megaliths (@joannehartstone for scale in pic 2), perfect for photographing toy dinosaurs (@tomkitney is quite the accomplished naturalist.) #iloveaustralia #katatjuta (at Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park)

@lborealis and I were invited to an Aussie-rules Football match. Not really like soccer or American Football (which they call Gridiron), Aussie Football is more like hockey, without pads and a lemon-shaped ball and constant uptime. Hardly a foul is ever called and fumbles seem like a mandatory response to being tackled. It was a grand day out in which the hometown favorites, the Port Adelaide Power, trounced visitor Fremantle. Thanks so much to @joannehartstone’s dad for inviting us out. @pafc #australianrulesfootball (at Adelaide Oval)

In Cape Tribulation, the world’s oldest rainforest, the Daintree, meets the Great Barrier Reef. The jungle becomes mangroves at the shore and the saltwater trees actually grow out onto the reef (as seen in the last pic.) A truly serene and beautiful convergence. #australia #iloveaustralia #latergram (at Cape Tribulation)
