Poem : Broken

Today I feel broken,

Closing doors that I barely had open,

I’m hurt and I just want to either feel all better or nothing at all,

Scared to walk with you again because you always let me fall,

...today I’m broken...

Saying so much in my mind that is left unspoken,

Fighting with myself to just forgive,

but hating myself because I still have to live,

Stuck feeling self guilt or anger towards others..nothing in between,

Full of emotions I haven’t felt since I was a child and a teen,

Abandonment, betrayal, fear and helplessness,

And nothing, no one and not a single thing can clean up this mess,

I’m broken..I’ve been broken yesterday, a week, a year, a life time ago..and now again today,

From actions of myself and others, and words said, that constantly replay..

I’m so tired of having to always put myself back together..

so this time ..I might just stay all broken up forever.

I’m like a banana peel. You only touch it to get to the banana and once you eat the banana, you throw away the peel. Even though the peel was once so important because it protected the banana.
