Something had been added to the alcohol, bringing the aggression of usually peaceful werewolves to the surface. The scent of vampires once again being the scent of an enemy. Reminding them of the enemies they’d once been, and could be again. The threat they held against them.

Aggression in the air growing, good company becoming tense. Fights brewing just under the surface? What’s coming?

The time is finally here for the Costume party arranged by Vasilyev & Flores. Hopefully you’ve found your costume, booked your ticket and is prepared to party, because if not, it might be a little bit late by now! 

As a reminder, the event will start now, and last until sunday the 23rd, being wrapped up with the final plot drop announcement around 7 pm GMT+2. 

There will be a pinterest board right HERE for inspirations to the decorations of the Iris Hotel’s great hall which has been done up for this charity event. And again, many thanks to the people of Iris Hotel for letting it take part here.

Costume Party

It is with great honor Valentina Flores and Lazar Vasilyev wishes to invite you to their Costume Party. You, as well as your loved ones are invited to an evening full of music, delightful appetizers, and enjoyable drinks as well. You are encouraged to find your most fun costume, bring a friend or ten, and come take part in a party in honor of ms. Flores new organization Safety in the Night. Safety in the Night is a non-profit created to support the vampires who after the law put in place last year to prevent non-consensual siring found themselves without sires, or in an abusive sire-situation, to have a safe place they could seek help. Whether that be resources to get out of the situation, help with their lawsuit, or counseling for both. Recently they’ve also expanded to open a shelter for vampires who have been living with their sire and now need a safe place, which is why you are invited. Any and all proceeds from the party will go to funding the shelter and protecting some who may need. 

As there will be alcohol served, there is a strict 18+ age limit to those invited, so you are free to show up in whatever costume you would prefer, as long as it is legal per law. 

It will be hosted at the Iris hotel, and all guests are encouraged to book themselves a room at the hotel, to wake up and have breakfast in the wonderful restaurant.

Tweet Tweet! Ah, finally. Back up with business, and the little stories going on in this home of ours. So first of all, have you all heard? There’s coming a little costume party, hosted by our Co-Mayor Lazar Vasilyev and his Valentina Flores. They’ve really settled into this domestic lifestyle from what I hear. Oh how I wish we could have had more of a chance on bachelor Vasilyev... Oh well, there’s still plenty of single bachelors, like our other co-mayor. You think he’ll stay single for long, or should I just dance into his office already to get a taste? I might just have to, hmm. Our party king Officer O’Riley seems to have added another party into his marriage, as Kai, Ace and Theo are an official thing now! Congratulations boys, best of luck! 

 Next on my list of news we have many congratulations and well wishes to Khaya’s new lead. Ceyhan Akinci. Related to Selin and Esma, I must assume? Oh and definitely her little sister, Kamile. So someone tell me, how does two sisters who’ve just been here for a few years, already snatch up two such handsome men? Mark and Travis, anyone? These ladies seem awfully close with these boys, and I haven’t heard of anyone else getting that close. Not that it’s my place to say, but hey. I wouldn’t mind letting Mark take a bite. Anyone knows if he prefers thigh or neck, hmm? 

Oh, oh! We cannot forget this. Just a few days, or was it even days? My birds get confused, after Adonis, yes the Adonis, got hurt at the festival, he walked into Shiva’s office, and based of what I heard.. The noises coming from it was very biblical. Naughty naughty. As for another handsome fella... Anyone knows what’s up with Robert? He was observed screaming into the air about a Fred? Anyone knows a Fred? I want to know what this guy did to drive our new wolf that mad! 

Besides all of that, anyone knows if Marcus is taking any more solo classes? Because damn that lil girl Lila is getting that beasts attention all to herself, and now with his sire out of town, I’d like a bite too. But I haven’t seen any private classes he’s hosting. So what’s the way, Lila? Is it bouncing on him that gets you private time? Or is it just pleading with big big eyes? I can do that, totally. As for another I wish some more one on one time with... Farid, you’ve been seen with a couple people who are not your sireline. You finally leaving the office? Write me up as one of your next dates, won’t you?? 

And in conclusion... You’ve all just grown hotter since last, Yue’s new bodyguard is a damn eyecandy, and I can’t wait to get Josie to do my makeup next.

Bonjour again Maladh! I have come to update you on exciting news! The police have finally appointed their new captain. Congratulations to Cassian Graves for becoming the new police captain. I look forward to seeing how our city will change for the better under your watchful gaze. 

Another change proposed for Maladh comes from the desks of our hunky Mayors. They have put forth an unprecedented law regarding consent to be turned into a vampire or werewolf. The law will be detailed under the cut for your review and if you have any questions, city leaders will be available at a town hall meeting to address them prior to the voting period beginning. The town hall will be on Monday and there you may ask any questions you have for city leaders regarding any concerns you have for Maladh. 

Voting period is now open and will go on for a week until next Friday when the results will be announced.

Siring will henceforth in this law refer to the turning of a human, witch, or demon hybrid into a vampire or werewolf. Sire will refer to the formerly vampire or werewolf, while the turned will refer to the being who was not vampire or werewolf before the act of turning was committed. 

This proposed law will have siring required to be a consensual act done between the sire and the turned. Non-consensual siring will be deemed an illegal act. Due to the nature of siring, there will also be included a retroactive clause concerning non-consensual siring that will go back beginning 1st of April 2005. Those turned without consent prior to that date can choose to take their case to be tried in civil court as they will be outside the statute of legal limitations for a criminal trial. (Date may be changed to reflect the day law gets implemented) 

In Maladh, the act of being sired will be an opt-in option. Any citizen who is open to being sired in the case of an emergency will need to wear a bracelet to indicate that they are giving consent, or carry a consent form on them, otherwise it will be assumed medical first aid is to be continued even in cases where the likely outcome is death. 

Victims of a non-consensual turning can come forward and identify themselves as sired without consent. There will be protections provided to the victims from any retribution from the sire. The victim has the option of going forward in a civil or criminal case against the sire. As not every newly turned vampire and werewolf can be tracked and traced, the law will rely on victims coming forward. 

Maladh courts of law will determine the punishments befitting the offenses should the sire be found guilty. Repeated or severe offenses will require the punishments to increase in severity against the guilty offenders. Punishments include, but are not limited to, fines, restraining orders, imprisonment, expulsion from Maladh, and true death. The victims have the option of a court appointed witch to sever the bond between the sire and the turned per court approval. 

The Opt - In system for consent regarding turning will include completed consent forms and/or a bracelet worn to indicate the individual is consenting to being turned. They will be located at pharmacies, police stations, hospitals, and public offices for use by the public. There will be selections available for vampire only, werewolf only, or for both, which will defer to whichever is first available.

Bonjour Maladh! It is time for you to get caught up on all that went down this week. Did you happen to stop by the colorful annual witch’s festival this past weekend? More than one type of fireworks happened to end the night. Word is that a few people got together to tamper with the sprinkler systems so that holy water rained down from them onto unsuspecting people, of which demon hybrids were included! Overall there were about 15 victims affected. There was also a bloody brawl between Adonis Li, Kai Lin, and some as of yet unknown assailants. Off duty Officer O’Reilly stepped in as well to help in ending the fight between the two and their angry attackers. The perpetrators scattered once officers arrived at the scene. Perhaps some people are not down with the new changes being rumored happening in our lovely city of Maladh.

Okay boys and girls it is witch festival time. Just so you know, there is going to be a bunch of fun stuff happening for each of the covens. But before we talk about that let’s see what has been going on in our city! It seems we have struck twin fever with some new faces that popped up in town. I must confess there are some very good looking twin pairs we have newcomers and locals. Makes my brain think scandalous things… Anyway welcome to Maladh! Also I have been told that we are getting an interview with Yue Xie. The illusive elder Original. Doesn’t happen often so keep your eyes peeled. Our wonderful and charming Liana will be conducting the interview and I am looking forward to what she can manage to uncover in her interview.

Now for the event! God I am so excited and the weather is going to be perfect for it! As usual with Maladh, the temperature never varies too much benefits of having a city close to the equator. You know city founders, I thank you for your city placement because I love the fact I can wear summer clothes all year round. There is no dress code so whatever is comfy to wander around and try some of the attractions. I am looking forward to all the dates. Will there be drama and popcorn or some behind the stall scandals only time will tell.  As for the attractions, we have:

Fire guys have sparks flying in the evening with their fireworks. Also been hearing about some fire shows where some of the coven show off their fire skills. Should be a fun watch. Just hope the stage is fireproof!

Air has an anti gravity chamber to make you feel like you are in space or is it skydiving? Should be fun either way! So if you are scared of heights but still want the sensation of skydiving I think this should be the first place you go to.

Earth has an assault course testing your physical skills in a fun filled way. Could even get a little competitive with your friends and family. I am sure no fights will come at the end of it promise.

Water has a waterslide attraction now that will be cool. I also hear they will make sure you walk away dry. I mean, I'm not going to lie, some wet t-shirts on some of our patrons would be very well appreciated but yes it would be awkward walking about in that. Can’t get everything I suppose. Hello Maladh! It’s been a while. I’ve been quite busy over the last few weeks and meeting a few people. But of course I have been thinking about you all the whole time. I am here with only good news. The city is having sushi again, thanks to an Archangel friend of mine. Thank Gabriel for saving the day! Any longer and we would have had Raphael gone batshit - and no one wants that. Raphael is the least fun Angel of the lot and definitely the cause for all the wars you heard of before. Crazy, right? Anyway, guess who I sat down with recently as well? Our Mister Original Yue Xie - he is very much cotton candy wrapped in a suit. Don’t be fooled by the frowny face, he is all approachable and incredibly social. Moving on, we have a new event coming up! Next Friday our witches will host their party and everyone is invited. We have been instructed to specifically mention demon hybrids are welcome and invited. But the party is open for everyone! Further informations will follow. On another note, stay tuned for updates from the Office. Team Mayor are working on big changes. We are very excited to hear more soon and be the first people to make official announcements. Last but not least -- I have a beautiful friend looking for someone to spoil her. SO it has been a chaotic fortnight to say the least. Usually we do do these weekly but last weeks big news was pretty devastating for those involved so out of respect (which we do have believe it or not) we delayed our usual update. So onto the news.

Callum Peter’s aka Doc Twitch (I mean the name screams comic book villain but that’s just me) has been killed. Sources say it was our own resident original vampire - the short one that everyone wonders if they are going to go on a killing spree anytime soon, not the grumpy one - that killed him. Turns out he kidnapped and experimented on a vampire. Boys and girls that is one sure way to piss off those originals and any of their kind. I really feel for those involved. We at the blog here hope they get some therapy from one of our many capable therapists cause I swear these days it’s practically a necessity to live her to have one. Also just saying they are all great looking but that’s just my superficial self admiring.

Next on our news. Now You know this place is weird now and again well it seems the city is having a fish shortage! You think when angels and demons are walking our streets there will be war or something. No we just can’t get sushi. I WANT MY CALIFORNIA ROLL FIX DAMMIT. Sorry, it’s like a weekly treat thing I have. Why fish though? Why couldn’t it be something like making all the water into wine and have us all drunk that’d be a laugh.

Oh and guess what looks like one of our mayors is moving out from the Vasilyev mansion. Our eyes have caught the very handsome mayor with his bachelor of a brother Dante. Would love to see some snaps of the place he chooses. Our other mayor has been spotted with a very pretty thing. Now we don’t see him out often. So this could be a friend, but if you got your eyes on him ladies and gentlemen better make your move just incase.

Good Afternoon to our

Mayors. This will be your very first interview after assuming your new posts so rather than beat around the bush, I think it’s best to simply dive in head first into the most pressing questions your voters sent in. First thing’s first: what projects or measures will be adopted to improve our city’s current conditions.

Kang:

I think we have mutual agreement on increasing the police force, right? And also the fire department. We have the funds, this city was never poor.

Lazar:

we are in agreement of such, who wouldn’t agree to give more funding to those who keep us safe. Honestly working at the fire department the current fusing is more then adequate.

Maggie:

What motivated you to get involved with city government? And while it’s perhaps a little premature to ask, how is the reality of it fending against what you might have anticipated?

Kang:

Honestly, the thought of my loved one’s being unsafe and me… not doing anything about it. That was all the motivation I needed to fight for this position. And us both joining forces can only be of benefit for the city, because we have similar ways of thinking but we are from different places around the city.

Lazar:

well I already work for the government it wasn’t much of a stretch for me, to make make the city safe as well as saving lives. Me and Kang want the same outcome for this city and it’s better to have two men with different experience fighting for it

Maggie:

Would you say there’s currently corruption within our government? And if so, how do you plan to eradicate it?

Kang:

The clearest and most obvious thing was the actual police force and the lack of money the previous government used to make better conditions. As of right now, I don’t know. We are yet to have a high table meeting but the recent bombing on the Fenghuang building has been keeping people busy and focussing on more important things.

Lazar:

I don’t believe anything can be pure anymore. And that systems can be abused for ones on gain of the wrong people have that power. But that being said I trust my fellow completely and that if there are others in the system that abuse the power given we would remove them. Eradication is almost impossible because anyone could be swayed with the right motivation so we can only minimums their hold

Maggie:

As the bombing on Fenghuang is currently a topic that is overwhelming most locals- in the face of the most recent attack, which have undoubtedly been escalating in violence, how would you prevent this trend?

Kang:

We don’t know the motivations of the terrorists who did this just yet, but we are working closely with the people. The citizens of Maladh. We have both open ears for everyone who needs to voice their concerns so we can prevent it from happening again. The people just want to be heard, and they need to be heard.

Lazar:

by trying to track down those involved, so they can be punished in the eyes of the law in a fair trial. No one is above the law and I know many may want to take action into their owns hands but I advise against such and allow the police for to do their work.  

Maggie:

As humans stand as your most vulnerable group within current population, what measures should be adopted to provide protection?

Lazar:

it’s not fair that any human should be made to feel vulnerable on our streets for just being what they are. How do we protect our citizens form such attacks now that is a good question. We obviously can’t have a guard following ever citizens around, that’s a breach of your freedom. We could discuss however the possibly implement the possibility of something to the aspects of a safe haven, where humans can go if they feel threatened by a supernatural.

Kang:

This city is unique and there are issues. I would like to work with the gangs and find a way for us all to work better together. I think that humans need to speak out more and go to the police. We will be working with the police so we can try and get a safe community that works for everyone. In addition, I want to provide free self defense classes even for the weakest of us. 

Maggie: 

By the end of your term, how do you expect to find the gang activity in Maladh?

Kang: 

The gang activity is part of this city. This city was founded on crimes. We need to find a way to work together, instead of against them. And we need to stand our grounds as we have already promised that we won’t be influenced by more powerful people. 

Lazar: 

they will always be around, they have been since Maladh was founded if my history is correct. But I’d like to feel like their hold over to city would be minimised and that the people hold more say then gangs 

Maggie: 

At last, do you believe that as a team rather than a solo act, you will accomplish more than those who came before you? 

 Kang: 

I believe that us both as a team from out first meeting and conversations already we do have the power to unite and provide the wanted and more than needed results. I can’t speak on the former mayors too much, but I know that the decision to go in together rather than alone was a good one. 

 Lazar: 

Of course i believe that we can do more good together then apart, and I am thankful to Kang for letting me side beside him in changing our city. Because the information one may lack the other can provide from our different life experiences. I have always believed two heads are better then one. 

Lazar:

Bonjour Maladh! It is time for you to get caught up on all that went down this week. And if you aren’t aware you missed quite a bloody end to a saga that was plaguing us since the beginning of the year. The ones responsible for the Estrella attack, the Fenghuang bombing, and the attack on one of Maladh’s finest officers, were finally met with retribution - possibly at the hands of some familiar faces. It shouldn’t come as a surprise since issues in Maladh are usually resolved outside of the proper policy channels anyway it seems. 

Also! You better keep an eye out on your fellow regular humans and witches around because they just might be inhabited by an Angel or Demon! I know, what the heck is going on? Why are they here? What are they up to? I cannot begin to guess! I have all my eyes, ears, and ahem, other places open and ready to see what will happen. 

In more lighthearted news, our two strapping mayors have officially moved into the office. I am looking forward to the gossip coming from within those walls.

Good day Maladh, we are here with some very unfortunate news: 10 people have been pronounced dead and several injured after the attack on the Fenghuang building at the evening of our wonderful charity event. Along those were Ella Josephine, a lovely young woman from the Salut district. Alek Serafin, our dear police Captain and Ryder Moore, a young firefighter. Unfortunately they could not make it out before the second bomb went off. 

 In light to other most recent news, the election results are in. I would say this is a day to celebrate, but I don't think any of us really wants that. Anyway, Kang Lin officially won and passed Lazar Vasilyev just by a very few votes. But I have been informed that the both of them would be uniting forces and  join the office together, so I guess we are getting the best of both worlds, right? I have strong beliefs that the two men are going to be better than their predecessors. 

 Anyway, have a good day Maladh, and as usual, we will keep you updated.

Si was enjoying the evening seeing how his little revelation just made a wolf family have some drama. Even appeared on the gossip blog. Who knew he either had someone who was the established hacker or knew them and passed the information on. Either way it lit things up like a flame. He was about to go and have fun with Farid when the lights changed. Ominous red strips lit up and Si knew this was not a drill. Someone had used the opportunity to mess with the building. He was now focused on trying to minimise the damage as much as possible. The first Alarm was always quick but subtle he had about 20 seconds to figure out if real or random trip.

He walked over to one of the walls and took the pad off it. Using his security code to get into the alarm system. It came from the floor above them. The heat sensors were going crazy and the system had now calibrated to detect multiple bomb signatures. His dark eyes widened. Immediately he started the back up of the access logs of the alarm system over the last month. Putting it onto his own personal server first and started the disaster recovery protocols. Alarm signals sent to both the hospital and to song gosni. As that happened their own one kicked in. A calm voice came over the speakers informing others of the imminent danger. Yue shot him a look and he nodded back. Yue looked at the crowd. “Everyone this is not a drill can I please get you to move swiftly but calmly to the neared fire escape. Please make your way now,” he called out.

One had gotten by their detection but at least they were aware and can start evacuation. He immediately moved to Yue. “This is no joke we are under attack,” he told his elder brother. “Multiple bombs detected, I’ve raised the alarm to the hospital and to Song Gosni so they should be over in the next 15. You take your newborn and go ahead to direct to the safe distance and I’ll get our guards to start making a sweep for those lingering,” thank goodness he didn’t drink. “Go,” he repeated.  He luckily kept his radio on him as he put his the earpiece. “This is not a drill,  make sure to do a sweep of the floor you are on. Once you are done immediately report on this channel so I can clear that floor on our checklist. I repeat this is not a drill,” oh who ever did this better be at his mercy. There was a reason you don’t mess with Fenghuang and he was now invested on making sure they do not escape unscathed. Hopefully with the data he has gleamed Eusebio can get something useful for him to follow. As the crowd slowly filtered out he made his way to the opposite fire escape. Just incase there were stragglers on that side of the building.

Hello, yours truly Liana here right from the Fenghuang building where the official charity auction is being hosted. Our lovely Maggie already informed you about the outcome of that auction. I am only here to keep you updated on further events.

Looks like this fest is not only here to celebrate reunion and the loss of loved one’s. Unfortunately we got hacked and there are other informations spreading. We can not confirm neither deny those until we have gotten a statement from the mayoral candidate himself, but that’s not the only drama.

He has been spotted outside though, with a friend of his? No idea. It seems like he is avoiding going back inside -- who could blame him, really? Well, I personally don’t think it will be any harm in his path to become the mayor elected. We are an inclusive city, after all.

Furthermore, another fight between two vampires could just be stopped right in time. Twins, by the very obvious looks of it. I don’t know what it was about -- but I will let you know as soon as I do.

Good evening, beautiful people of Maladh!

We hope you’re enjoying the charity event currently being held. Before we all become side tracked by some juicy drama, we thought now would be the appropriate time to announce the outcome of our auction.

Ace Oreilly’s bidding was won by Mr. Kai Lin. Aleksander Serafin was snagged at the last minute by Miss Adara Shusterman. One of the most intense bidding wars had to be Miss Iva Serafin - we wonder how mom and dad feel about the sudden attention - but, ultimately, Adonis Li claimed his prize. Fireman hottie Lazar was won over by Mr Kang Li - an interesting turn of events, if you ask me. Leander Miros was abruptly taken by Miss Ava Lorde - I certainly didn’t see that one coming. Lourenzo Smith was calmly won over by Miss Shiva Avasarala. Orion Hall was touch and go for a while until Mr Theodore Night finally came out as victor. Ryder Moore will be enjoying the remaining of the evening with Miss Valentina Flores. Selin Akinci found herself at high stakes until Lavinia Castillo closed the bidding poll. Tien Rong’s bidding was finally won by Gabriella Graves.

Now that we’re all caught up with the auctions, we wish all winners a good time at your dates. Remember: alcohol makes inhibitions run low. Be careful now.

Though I feel my efforts are best focused on rebuilding the coven and making we tidy up the aftermath of the attack. So with that in mind I would like to officially announce Fernando the leader of the Residentes to step up to help me with looking after the Salut district. It is within my decision to make sure I only do what is best for the district. So he will attend the district meetings in my stead.”
