ja'el's toy box: Sekiguchi monchhichi

these little babies were first released by Sekiguchi corp in 1974. They are plush monkeys that became a sensation due to their cuteness, which was heavily amplified by their ability to suck their own thumb! Overtime, they became a collectible. Some of the older models run for about $600 on eBay. Despite this, they are readily available on amazon, eBay and other toy sights for much much less.
