No - it’s not racist to headcanon Rey as lesbian.
Lesbian Rey isn’t a racist headcanon, and I would LOVE lesbian Rey - because I’m really cool with almost everything TFA related tbh. The only “ship” I 100 percent have for Rey, Finn and Poe is happiness and a strong loving friendship. Any romantic variations (or none) work for me.
All we’re saying is that racism does play a role (or completely inform) how some people ship characters vs others, or treat other characters, etc, etc, etc.
Here’s an exmaple:
If I see a post about lesbian Rey and it’s about lesbian Rey and how awesome a lesbian Rey would be, I’m gonna be just fine.
When I start to get real suspicious is if someone was doing a post about how Rey should be a lesbian….but spends ten trillion years talking about how Finn is a terrible person, and relies on racist statements about black men and racist assumptions about Finn’s character, and that’s why Rey should be a lesbian so Finnrey won’t be a thing.
Same for almost any headcanon or ship tbh.
