u rly do need friends who arent afraid to call u a fucking dipshit in real life. like friends who r only blindly supportive arent rly friends, u need people who will call u out on being a god damn sack of hammers sometimes bc everyone is and only ppl who r actually worth keeping around will tell u abt it

ppl who start fights w u over u being a fucking dipshit r the ones u wanna keep man ive had those ppl save my ass so many times, esp when it comes to having depression and being actively dangerous to myself a lot. sometimes it takes someone telling u that ur being a ridiculous piece of shit to wake u up and make u realize that, heck, u R, y’know ?

like all that i support uwu shit is fine until the rubber meets the road and those ppl dont even tell u when ur house is burnin down. stick to ppl who give more of a shit about ur wellbeing than ur feelings, its how u get good friends

A few years ago 3 friends and I drove 4 hours to another town to go to a Modest Mouse concert. We made it to the venue waited outside for a hour or two to get our tickets scanned, we went straight to the merch table then to the smoke area for a cigarette and one of my friends had racked up on merch and wanted to go put her stuff in the car and smoke some weed before the show other friend and I did want to smoke but we wanted to go by the stage more but she ended up persuading us. We then walked out of the venue and went to my car none of us were aware of our surroundings at that point, we get to the car right as my friend put the lighter to the pipe a cop knocks on the window of my car we literally got caught red handed apparently the cops followed us from the venue to my car to shorten up the story one of my friends had a bowl of weed the other had maybe 2gs and a xanax, the guy who owned the venue had the choice to press charges or whatever and he did and they spent 2 nights in jail 4 hours away from home we basically bought tickets to go to jail and not see Modest Mouse. I was the only one not arrested Bc I had nothing in my possession that they could locate I could not go back into that venue I felt like knowing that all my friends were in jail and missing the show it would have been pretty fucked up for me to go enjoy the show without my friends. Modest Mouse I just wanna know why you didn't help some brothas out.

I have always really really loved slam poetry but never thought I would be good at putting my feelings into words this is my very first attempt at slam poetry, this poem literally randomly started coming to me so I wrote it down, i would love to hear anyone's feedback/thoughts.
