the fact that i'm no longer the same age as the protagonists of novels and films i once connected to is so heartbreaking. there was a time when I looked forward to turning their age. i did. and i also outgrew them. i continue to age, but they don't; never will. the immortality of fiction is beautiful, but cruel.

i sit down to write and suddenly i am the most distracted human alive. the chair is uncomfortable. my coffee is too hot. my playlist isn't quite the vibe. i need to research what victorian houses smelled like in 1872 for exactly 45 minutes even though my story takes place in space. and yet the moment i'm trying to fall asleep? every single sentence i've ever needed just lines up perfectly in my brain like some kind of creative parade i'll never get back.

I was just rewatching the live action Alice in wonderland and I forgot how much of a cinnamon roll Alice was 💖☺️

Mia really captured her unruly quirkiness and I love it when she just randomly starts asking Hamish what it would be like to fly 😂💕

Luna Lovegood was so, so important to me as an undiagnosed autistic girl.

Seeing yourself in someone else for the first time and realising that maybe, just maybe, you`re not alone in your experience and how you percieve the world. And of how others percieve you in return.

It was such a validating experience, and i hope it was for the autistic/neurodivirgent ppl out there who relate(d) to her as well.

Because when no one else in real life seemed to understand, I'd always think about Luna, knowing that she would.

Because why wouldn't she?
