Long time no talk

Recovered my pw for this blog for the first time in about three years (nbd). I graduated well over a year ago from AUP, so sorry I can no longer answer questions really... at least on what’s currently going on at campus. Just sayin

If one more person tells me “you don’t need to wear makeup to feel beautiful” I will punch a wall. No. I don’t. You’re correct.

But you obviously don’t understand me.

I don’t wear makeup to attract men. I don’t wear makeup to feel pretty. I don’t wear makeup because I hate myself.

I wear makeup because I see it as art. I enjoy applying it. I enjoy creating new looks. I enjoy spending time making myself look different everyday, surprising myself. I enjoy the serenity and peacefulness when I put on some music and spend time treating myself to 20 minutes completely devoted to me. I love shopping for makeup and picking out new brushes and new eyeshadows. I look forward to trips to sephora, browsing between different shades of red and teal and coral and blue and brown and orange and silver and sparkly or matte. And I enjoy it mostly because of the people I meet.

Makeup doesn’t discriminate. If you are a size 0 or a size 20, you fit into any makeup you choose. I think that’s beautiful. No matter how much you weight, how tall you are, how smart, how experienced you are. You can put on makeup. Whichever one you choose. And if you take the time to learn how to use it, you can make it art.

So no. I don’t wear makeup to make myself feel “good” about myself. I wear makeup because I love makeup. Period. End of story.
