Sherlock, 2 years later
( Quite a long post since I never really talked about this.)
Today marks the second year since I discovered Sherlock. I can still remember the day I was contemplating on whether I should give the show a try or just go back to the usual routine of watching shows I’ve seen several times already. I took the former and now I am writing about this.
Although I discovered the show a few months after I started my first job, I still considered the show as my work-friend, which is kinda weird in retrospect. I mean, why did I consider a show as my friend when there are people to fill that role. But despite that, when things are rough and I want to feel a little better, I watch my favourite episodes and overthink. I also read fanfics and meta, though I rarely do that since work demands so much.
More than the overthinking, which is sometimes not healthy, I discovered and learned a lot of things from the show. I began to appreciate songs and I even learned so much about relationships and human emotions from the show.
By the way, Molly is my favourite character because it was she who motivated me to really finish the first episode. I remember how much I wanted to see the last episode because I need to be sure that she’ll be happy. Good old times. Aside from that, Molly’s character gives me the confidence to accept myself even when- especially when- it’s difficult. Sometimes, I wish I discovered Molly when i was younger, that would’ve been helpful.
Oftentimes, i wonder if I should give my Sherlock-fangirl-self a break and allow myself to find new shows to love. It seems that in the last 2 years , I spent so much time thinking about the show and oversharing it to other people. Now is probably the time to be like Molly Hooper and move on- Hello, Tom! Fingers-crossed that my efforts won’t be jinxed by a surprise return like what Sherlock did in S3E1.
Anyways, with or without a surprise from Sherlock, I’ll always consider this show as an unexpected friend when i needed it the most. The show will always have a special place in this tumblr-space.

I thought of spending more time gouache painting. By the way, those are inaccurate representations of Molly Hooper’s outfits from Sherlock because she’s so adorable.

cutting down the struggle and strife
Recently, I’ve been watching movies and reading articles about nostalgia that I suddenly realized that being over after the things from the past is not really good.
It doesn’t mean that I’m totally throwing all those years I spent wishing that I should’ve been born when things were “easier”. There are good things about being nostalgic, so many that this post is not enough to enumerate everything. Actually, I will not be even able to enumerate everything because things from the past -things I thought I knew- still surprise me with new stories and information. I guess what I’ll be throwing, in other words stop doing, is thinking that things were easier in the past. Actually, it weren’t. Just like us, people from years gone by had their fair share of bad experiences. Who knows, maybe some of them even thought life in the past was easier compared to the era they live in.
I know this realisation of mine came late. Some things take time.

Here I am listening to Bob Dylan’s Blowin’ in the Wind instead of doing my tasks. One thing I learned from this song is how liberating it is not to have the answer to all of life’s questions.

here i am thinking if the character from the book I’m reading is overprotective, and if being overprotective is good or bad.
I know I should be doing something else. hahahahaha

If you’ve never seen Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, you’re missing out on some amazing jackets, top-notch adolescent rebellion, and the birth of Day Bow Bow. But don’t take my work for it; let @vitoriabas give you the rundown of the best lessons from the movie that showed us how much fun teen angst could be.
