As if combating the negative images of toxic masculinity, an international health pandemic, and the genocide of fathers, brothers, sons at the hands of law enforcement isn’t enough, you also have to make sure you and your family are GOODT.

The Power of the Lippie 💄

Everyday is a day to celebrate, but an all time favorite day (aside from my birthday and Christmas) is National Lipstick Day, on July 29, est. 2016.

A day that honors the many facets of a cosmetic product that provides texture, color, and protection for your pout. Sensual without the distaste, strong without the brawn, sweet without the shrinking, sophistication without the formality.

During ancient times, lipsticks (then a red earthly pigment and oil) served a purpose of noting status and position. It also worked to keep lips moist in dry climates, and was even designed as a repellent to keep the bugs away...eek.

More currently, it’s the only accessory you need when your stylish OOTD, imagined in your head, looks better on the IG influencer; or your natural curls you spent time LOVINGLY twisting the night before are being disrespectful and disobedient 😞.
