What's funny is that when you tell them that Nintendo hasn't confirmed it (and I don't think it ever will). You get responses like "well because it's a family game". Which does kinda say something if you think about it.

Many people (like the anon) can't handle other people having differing likes and opinions from theirs. To them, if you have a (canon) lesbian shipped with a guy, that's "lesbophobia" or lesbian erasure, or some other contrived crap. They're the kind of person to be like:

You only do/think/believe that because you're a; -ist, ic, or something else

Unfortunately those sorts of people are growing in number online. And they just don't have the mental capacity to actually argue their position or against yours. They have to misrepresent you.
