Mindfulness: A Promising Safeguard for Floundering Teenage Mental Health
Teenage mental health is a growing concern worldwide.Ā As a teacherĀ in Arizona public schools, I saw firsthand how anxiety and depression affect students.
One moment stands out. Last year, a student in my government class asked to use the bathroom. He never came back. Hours later, he was found at a Home Depot, overwhelmed by thoughts of self-harm. He had left school to cope with his emotions.
This was a terrifying moment for me as a teacher, but itās not uncommon. Teen mental health is a complex issue with no one-size-fits-all solution. However, mindfulness offers a promising way to help teens reduce anxiety and depression.

Job searching and career building can feel like stepping into a false vacuum.
We often look to the past, trying to piece together a story about our value from what weāve accomplished. At the same time, we strain to shape the future, trying to will it into something that feels secure, successful, or fulfilling.
But hereās the thing:
š«ļø The past is gone, and the future is unpredictable. š Resumes, interviews, and even curated profiles on social media can never fully capture the essence of who we are or the real impact weāve made.
So what can we do?
āØ Shift your focus to building authentic relationships. Seek connection, not just credentials. ā¤ļø Remember: Your value isnāt tied to your past accomplishments or future goals. Your worth lies in how you show up right now.
We only get one life, and itās happening moment by moment. Donāt let the chase for a perfect career rob you of living fully or loving yourself as you are today.
š” How are you balancing career goals with living in the present moment?

How To Stop Procrastinating: It's Not About Technology
Figuring out how to stop procrastinating can feel like scaling a mountaināespecially when weāre overwhelmed. Mindfulness can help tame the anxious, avoidant mind. If you find yourself constantly putting things off, here are tools to help you get started.
Figuring out how to stop procrastinating can feel like scaling a mountaināespecially when weāre overwhelmed. I know the struggle. As an undergraduate in humanities and biblical studies, I had many late nights. Campus libraries would close, leaving me hunting for a quiet place to write. Snack spots shut down, and Iād end up typing softly in dim dorm rooms to avoid waking roommates. On top of myā¦

Inner Peace Comes When You Focus Your Senses Now
Our natural tendency is to either suppress our feelings or react to others. But neither response offers real inner peace. Next time you feel the pull to react or suppress, shift to the present moment.
Last week, I found myself caught between two loved ones in an ugly argument. Have you ever joined a conversation, only to realize too late that it was spiraling out of control? That was my situation. I sat down at a party, hoping to join in, only to discover the conversation had soured before I arrived. My safeguarded inner peace was now compromised. Both family members are dear to me. I feltā¦

What if everything you seek is already inside you?
You donāt need to fix anything.
You are whole.
You donāt need to accomplish anything.
You are precious.
You donāt need to become anything.
You are becoming.
You donāt need to know anything.
You are knowing.
You donāt need to trust anything.
You are safe.
You donāt need to enjoy anything.
You are joyful.
You donāt need to fight anything.
You are strong.
You donāt need to pacify anything.
You are peace.
To seek these things is to lose them. Theyāre already part of your being.
What are you seeking that you already have?

Three Simple Steps to Vaporize Fear and Unlock Your Heart
At the end of the iconic HBO series The Sopranos, the eponymous lead, Tony, dies off-screen in an instant. The scene just cuts to black. The āHearā and Now: How to Listen for Presence
Getting lost in thought clouds the peace and wonder of the present moment. One way to return to presence is by listening to the sounds around you. Knowing what to listen for can help you practice this skill.
Note: For those of us who can hear, listening is a valuable tool for presence. For those with hearing differences, try focusing on other senses, like sight or touch. At any moment, countless things happen all around us. People, animals, and even inanimate objects are always in motion. The world is a vibrant, ever-changing place.
