How tall you think Orlok would be if he didn’t have a hunch?
Would he be taller than Bill actually is or the same at 6’4”?

After watching Nosferatu, I want to know more about Orlok and Ellen.
I doubt they have bios sadly.
That’s one of the things I love about Crimson Peak is Guillermo wrote out bios for his main characters and shared them.
There were parts of them in the art book before he posted the full ones on twitter.
Even the novel for the movie gives details you don’t see in the movie about the characters.
The detail work put into the visuals of Orlok and his home, even with short moments of speech building a background that makes me wonder what he was like in life and when he went down the path he did.
Was it a willing decision or a curse for something else?
We only hear gossip from the people of the area about him and history is lost with time unless written and saved and spoken of.
Rumors can become truths and speculations proofs.
We also only get a glimpse of Ellen’s life before Thomas from her opening scene and her talks with the professor and Orlok.
Things that if you don’t bring in the occult part of things sounds like a young girl reaching puberty without a proper female figure to speak with of such things and learning about sexuality. Instead a father like many men of the time verbally and mentally tormenting her and telling her she’s evil.
Which doctors were horrible to woman and we only see a glimpse of it in this movie when it comes to their care.
The professor being the closest to treating her properly in a medical sense.
Makes me so curious.

Learned what maybe some of the symbolism that can be taken behind the lilacs in Nosferatu.
In some tellings of the god Pan listing after a Nyphm, she takes the form of a lilac bush to escape, but instead pan uses the bush to make a flute and she is unable to escape.
A fitting symbol of Orlok and Ellen.
Then there is the old interpretation bad luck bringing them inside as you’d end up single forever or sending lilacs to end an engagement.
We see Thomas give Ellen Lilacs foolishly and later their marriage is ended.
More modern meanings are for innocence.
Something Ellen strongly struggles with in the movie is if she is good or evil. Perhaps another reason she is upset upon receiving them from Thomas.
Add as well they were used for funerals, mourning and helped cover the smell. This use was used by Romans in their day and came back with popularity.
We see the professor using the flowers so at the end of the movie.
In the end I’m such a fan of deep meaning of visual symbolism in these types of movies.
One of my favorite movies to do this is Crimson Peak with Butterflies and Moths through out the movie in visual, word association, and story.

Something I’m glad they did before and after in credits for Nosferatu 2024 is at the beginning you have a logo from the original movie and at the end both movie and book credits to both men that brought vampires to popularity.

Finally saw Nosferatu and I gotta say I enjoyed it.
I have a take many won’t agree with, but it lines up with what Bill Himself said in an interview:
Skarsgård: “I want people to go, ‘Is he going to bite her face off?’ And then it turns into a kiss. [Nosferatu is] a very heightened fairy tale/dark story, but also it's two people potentially falling in love. It isn't love, it's something else, but love is maybe the closest thing to it that you can kind of relate to. If it's not love, it's a craving and it's an appetite and it's lust and desire to devour.
[Orlok is] seeing the sun for the first time in hundreds of years. So he's mesmerized by it and fear and all of these different things. And in a way, maybe that is what Orlok wanted all along.”

I’d like to note after my reaction to the new attic bride on my side blog it is not due to the change of character, oh no, it’s due to how and why.
They’d already very likely just bought a Home Depot shed to make the new shop, but also just bought and not altered things from Amazon or put ai art in it as well.
The queue as well is a downgrade as it doesn’t feel eerie or spooky, but a normal garden setting with purchased made to order items and not altered or specially ordered items.
Now for the new bride, I will admit I love the lighting and ethereal look, but! Why is her head a very visible projector if she doesn’t talk?
Her arms do not move and are statue like the original and if they were going to just have her be stationary as such, sculpt or create a head as you did in the past with the other brides before Constance which were stationary and didn’t talk.
Visual example, here is the brides leading up and with Constance.
They were silent and only hearts heard and didn’t move. So makes sense they’re full statue animatronic models.
Constance is still technically a still statue like model, but her projections over the form made that she spoke like the busts and made it look like she had arms and was moving.
A wonderful illusion that made her feel alive and moving compared to the older models that didn’t move.
Now why does this upset me with the new bride?
She was changed due to “sensitivity” of her being an axe murderess.
And supposedly outdated tech being from 2009.
And yet! They left all Constance’s themed items in the ride and didn’t even try to retheme or alter anything related outside of putting the new bride and her cat in the ride.
How is it sensitive but you kept the portraits of the men and the other brides with indication of her still beheading them?
Going on with the out of date reasoning, why did you downgrade from a projection that gave the illusion of movement and the bride speaking to a silent bride that doesn’t move and for some reason still has a projected face instead of a physical none animated one like before or a full animatronic set up like with your newer rides?
Now before you say why I’m not upset of a similar thing with the Hatbox, that’s because his set up is made to pull off the effect his head is traveling between two places and is achieved due to no or little movement and projectors. Yet still is moving more then the new bride!
Again, something they’re calling outdated but used to make him and are using on the new brides head writhing the last years far after Constance was added.
Now I ask take a moment and look at the previous next to the new.

Which looks more like a Disney product and which looks more like a Halloween DIY decoration on someone’s lawn?
It feels rushed and just a place holder.
The fact the attic hasn’t been rethemed really screams a rushed job as well.
The painting even looks better than the final in my opinion and only upside with the actual outcome is the colors and the candelabra. Doesn’t make it look any better, just nice colors.
Until they improve it, don’t they dare touch Walt Disney World!

Sees new Attic Bride at DisneyLand: *HISSES*
I understand Disney parks will always be changing as Walt wanted, but that’s a downgrade in effects! 1 her head looks like it’s gonna fall off and not part of her. 2 she doesn’t look like she’s animated in body outside the heart. Even though projected Constance had movement in limbs. Where’s that here?!
She looks like a Halloween diy on a budget!

The piano ghost looks better then here!!!
This looks more advanced and better still!

Late posting about this, but it’s been announced that the IT tv series will have at least 3 seasons taking place in different years going backwards every 27 years.

What would make it even better is if Bill continues for the next two seasons as Pennywise and they take the time to finally film the scenes Andy wants for a Director/Extended Cut that we’ve been waiting on going on almost 10 years since he first mentioned doing a directors cut for the first movie and then expressing the desire to make an Extended cut combining both movies into a longer version with added scenes that would need to be filmed or exist already.
Having Bill for the series already, it would make sense if they invested time now as they film for the series.
At least logically it makes sense to me.

Growing up I’d watch “Dracula Dead and Loving It” whenever it came on. I always thought it was R as well and cut for tv, but just now watched it on Amazon and it says PG-13 and apparently I’d seen all of it on TV cause I don’t think I saw anything cut out.
Still fun and how I remembered it.

Anyone else only ever seen the Nosferatu Sponge Bob gif and had no idea it was from Sponge Bob cause you stopped watching before they got to that season, but learned about it during interviews for the new movie and the director thanking the show for bringing it to the younger generation, but you knew of the movie Nosferatu from film references, tv show references and even caught some of it on tv during Halloween back when both AMC and TCM showed older horror movies, and you aren’t that old even, if anything you’re just a year older then Bill Skarsgard.
Anyone else like that?
Cause it made me feel old feels like everyone is referencing this as if it’s the only way anyone ever knew about the original movie.
Maybe I’m just old, or my horror nerd part of me is why I know.
They used to do shows talking about horror movie history and I’d watch them when I could find them on tv.
Now you could probably them online ripped from vhs.
They used have a VFX show that went behind the scenes of the movies and how they did everything. I loved it and the last I saw any episode I think was like 2003.
I want to say it was on AMC.
I haven’t seen it mentioned in interviews I’ve seen, but Willem Dafoe technically played Orlok in Shadow of the Vampire and that came out 2 years before the Sponge Bob episode.
youtube
It’s an interesting fictional take on the making of Nosferatu.

Finally saw Boy Kills World with Bill Skarsgard and I liked it. I think it didn’t get the chance it deserved upon release due to lack of and poor advertising.
I was even surprised by the end.
I guessed a little of it, but not all and that’s hard to do to me as I usually figure out the whole story before the movie ends.
So I was pleasantly surprised they got the slip on me.
Bill is adorable in his mannerism of a golden retriever like person, but also as someone that wasn’t allowed to properly grow up.
He as well as the narration by H. Jon Benjamin, know for the voice of Bob Belcher and Archer, bring humor equally as if one person.
If you are not expecting to hear Bob, it can be confusing and take you a bit to settle in. Soon it becomes natural as if he has always been Bill Skarsgard’s voice.
The action is exciting and I wish I had seen much more of the like in the Crow remake that Bill was part of after.
But one can see how all that work he did in this movie flowed into his role as Eric Draven when in action.
His young female costar playing his sister is equally entertaining and together pull at your heart strings through out the film.
Their interactions adorable and heart breaking.
After getting past the trope training intro, the movie builds and you are not quite certain if all his work was for not or he will actually pull it off.
There was many a time I did wish they would bring up to the people around him the fact he was both deaf and mute.
Other then an on going gag for the audience, no one catches on as he stumbles his way through and has great luck in landing just were he needs to be in at times humorous or shocking manners.
There was at least one part that was very predictable due to the cameras angle and not moving at all. I had hoped at one point I may have been wrong as it slowly built to the moment as the actor would have been entertaining to have longer. Sadly as predicted it happens and it’s not really that funny due to predictably.
Though after it makes up for it as with very Fallout like plot lines of interactions, deception and dialogue.
Though the movie ends on an emotional finale, that leaves you wondering what happened to the main characters with the end credits hinting but not confirming until the very end with a finale scene to confirm what you hope has happened.
So if you’re a fan of Bill Skargard, action, crazy fights, and Fallout like story telling, I’d suggest watching this movie.
Also, if you’re a fan of Brett Gelman, you’re in for a good time. I know I enjoyed getting to see him.
And for the short time we get with Sharlto Copley as well. In a way giving off Fallout New Vegas Benny Vibes in his threads, but without the accent.

It does!
I saw it and posted the link but then the video was swapped out at a later date with the one in the movie.
My best guess is they received the wrong file and posted it and had to act fast to change it.
It was on TheUpcoming YouTube channel and released as official clip Venice Film Festival.
It was Michael narrating the whole thing in his own voice.
When the clip that was mentioned to be released with the Italian dub showed up later on my TikTok fed and was of an official foreign WB TikTok with subtitles , I thought it was only half dubbed in the countries native tongue.
When I got to see the movie I was so confused why it had dubbing due to seeing the clip with Michael just talking.
It was released on August 27/28 and altered quickly to the correct one and I just now found out that’s what happened cause I went to the video I posted that day after watching it and saw it was changed.
Really sucks cause I’ve tried the way back machine and so am just asking around now if anyone got a copy downloaded before it was swapped.
I asked on Reddit under the same video and someone was trying to tell me it was always the dubbed version released.
Almost want to saw “trust me my good fellow, I have trouble sleeping and was awake when it was released and thus saw it before it got changed to the one everyone saw.” Cause I felt I was being told I was delusional.
Does anyone have the English version of Beetlejuice talking about his marriage to Delores?
It was originally released before the movie came out and the link I had to it, they have now replaced it with the theatrical version of Beetlejuice being dubbed in Italian.
I didn’t know this was a mistake they uploaded and so didn’t download the clip.
I also can’t find it when using different search means.
I’d highly appreciate the help.
I’m wanting it not newly for my own to save but to show someone that didn’t see it.
