I never really watched WCSA before Showbiz but now I love them! My favorite from their is Brooke Shaw, she is so sassy and cute. And I love Be Our Guest
I’m glad you like them! I’m (still) obsessed haha.
Brooke is so much fun to watch. Her facials are hilarious!
I’m so sad I actually missed Be Our Guest on the stream D: they went earlier than I expected, so I only caught the end!

I’m forever going to be impressed that TDC has enough male dancers to have an all-boy teen line.

Alexandra Chaves Interview
Interview with 13 year old Canadian Dancer Alexandra Chaves!
Where do you dance?
I dance at Dimensions in Dance in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada!
How long have you been dancing for?
10 years!
What is your favourite style of dance?
I honestly love all kinds, but if I had to choose it would be ballet because ballet is the basis of all styles and recently I've been really enjoying learning new curriculum and trying out different takes on ballet (contemporary ballet...).
What is your favourite dance you have done?
Ahh that's such a hard question!! If I had to choose, it might be "Skyscraper" my lyrical solo (choreographed by Miss Kimberly Kay) because it had a story that I could really relate to and connect to.
What is your favourite costume you have worn?
My "Unusual Girl" open solo costume, made by @2die4costumes. It's absolutely stunning. I'll post some pictures of it on Instagram soon!
Who do you look up to?
My friends that I dance with at the studio! They all have so much talent and I'm constantly inspired and motivated from them. I also look up to Hayden Hopkins, Briar Nolet, and Emily Brown.
What is your favourite competition?
I love a lot of competitions but I think one of my all time favourites is Starpower!!! I'm competing at a Starpower competition in a few weeks and I cannot wait!!
What is your favourite dance move?
Turns. turns. and more turns. I love trying different types of turns, and new tricks to add to turns. I'll post some on Instagram this summer!!
What motivates you to work hard?
1. Social media. Seeing soooo many amazing dancers on my Insta feed constantly motivates me! Plus with YouTube, it's easy to watch outstanding dancers and instantly get motivated to try a trick in their routine or something like that.
2. Losing. It motivates me to get back in the studio and work harder!
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I'd love to be choreographer (p.s you can check out my choreography on my YouTube channel- Alexandra Chaves). I'd love to travel our North America doing choreography. But maybe before that, I would train at Julliard. That would be my ultimate dance dream I think.
What is your favourite experience in dance so far?
Training at the National Ballet School of Canada for the summer. It was so inspiring and allowed me to push myself to the next level.
Anything else you would like to say?
I'd actually love to say a quick "inspirational word" ____
I had an experience last year that originally made me think super negative about the dancer I would become when I would dance again. Once I got back to dance I understood this quote "the things you take for granted, someone else is fighting for". It made me realize how grateful I am that I can dance. What I learned from the whole experience, and what I hope I can share with others is to enjoy every minute you have dancing, be on stage or doing whatever you love to do!
Thanks for reading!!
