well i mean watching nuka grow up he jus could have seen how immature n incapable he was to become so vital to his vision of the future. whereas kovu was still young enough to have influence over tbh

that’s true and makes more sense than the reasons in the vids , there’s also one vid that talks about how scar pretty much called nuka a failure but also according to scar’s backstory he was turned his back on by his own father so it’s a 50 / 50 % game he either acted on nuka like his father acted on him which implies nuka wanted scar dead . which isn’t the vibe of the movie at all so for me it’s inaccurate or kovu was seen for different with more potential bcs of nuka’s behaviour

I mean after all it’s just theory vids nothing canon beside the fact vitani and nuka r actually his kids bcs everyone goes by this but ya know i still dk how scar picked kovu over nuka 

but also one theory vid said he didn’t wanna kovu feel left out of the family like he did himself as a child but like pick him over ur own son is like another extreme of it

PSA   :   the timeline i roleplay kovu in is before kovu picked one side . while the movie logically as a children’s movie went really quick about it with his feelings and side picking I will extend it . I would like to focus and put more development in it . 

Kovu was told since he was a child , he is scar’s heir . the chosen . a rightful king . he was taught to be a ruthless killer and he is someone that does love his siblings and his mother and all the outlanders . it will take for him to realise his feelings for kiara and while he does slowly want to keep her alive , his feelings for the rest of pride landers is not mutual to the ones for kiara . even for her his thoughts and feelings are very confusing to himself . he does not want to disappoint his mother and he even fears her more than anyone else . 

he holds her very high , she and his sister vitani are the ones he listens to . he does think that his mother could not be wrong , that she is resourceful and stands to the right side . it was put in his head since a very young age and he thinks automatically like this . his feelings and bond with kiara is his current struggle because while he tells himself that she is an enemy and does lie to her , her behaviour shows him something else . 

also if you read this may I call this also a PLOTTING CALL !
