Hello!  I’m Lindsay and I make mobiles.  I’m self taught and have been making them for 3+ years.  Like many folks who live along Lake Michigan, or any body of water for that matter, I like to go to the water.  When I’m there, I know I’m putting my body in the right place.  I’m always my most genuine self when I’m in nature.  I’m a gardener and when I’m in the dirt, nurturing something, I know I’m putting my body in the right place.  When I’m in my studio, creating, I know I'm putting my body in the right place.  I’m a mom too.  A fair amount of my time is spent making, creating, and nurturing.  Time is such an interesting flexing thing and I wasn’t so aware of that until having children.  So, I work in my studio, at night, after the kids are asleep and after I exercise because *exercise* influences all aspects of me in a positive way.  I always say that I’m doing it for my creativity on IG but really - I'm also doing it for my mental health and of course my body - the carrier of all the babies, bags, and driftwood.  Anyways, this brings me back to putting myself in the right place.  With all of these aspects of life pulling and growing and stretching - going to the Lake has been more important than ever.  The lake will always provide even if I don’t find anything “exceptional or interesting”.  “Going to the Lake” is more than just literally going to the lake - it’s about taking care of myself.  It’s about exercising, it’s about writing, it’s about getting back into my own brain! It's about reconnecting, and letting go of expectations and for me - not overthinking! Just let the physical override all the chatter by putting myself in the right place. https://www.instagram.com/p/CaGHfLzuBPW/?utm_medium=tumblr
