really is bizarre the way fandoms largely do not like women at ALL. it’s been happening for ages but when you see people straight up just hating on women characters more often now (+ the general rise in misogyny) and then you come on here and everyone’s just pretending women don’t even EXIST in any media ever. it’s like that’s not much better. fandom isn’t activism but it does reveal people’s internal biases. like women being excluded, sidelined and erased in everythingggg. people will take characteristics that are compelling in a female character and give it to a man in fan content just so they don’t have to engage with a woman ever. fics, fan art, ships, etc. a hollywood produced movie/tv show won’t even sideline a woman as much as the average fandom blogger will

I just want you all to know, that if and when this site does experience a real exodus and/or get sunsetted for good, even if we don't keep in touch I'll remember you so fondly. You're the online equivalent of the other kid on the beach where we built sandcastles together; the girl at the campsite where we explored the trees. You're the drunk person who shared kind words in the bathroom at the club, you're the talented artists at the life drawing class or the poetry night in a city where I don't live anymore. It makes me sad that maybe in the future our paths won't cross so easily, but even when we leave this little shared piece of cyberspace, carried away on our briefly intersecting trajectories, just know I still love you

The prologue of Bridehall is out now! ========================== In this prologue, you can expect:
An omen.
Customizing your MC's name, gender, feelings on society, and more!
Learning more about the events that led to you becoming the household manager of Bridehall.
Traveling through the woods of the Catskills (very uncomfortably).
And most importantly, arriving.
Bridehall's been waiting.
================================================
PROLOGUE.
================================================
A bit short, but I hope to update soon with the next chapter 💗 If you come across any bugs, don't hesitate to send me a letter-- any help is very much appreciated!
Thanks, (and I hope you enjoy!) -- Jam

the thing is that childhood doesn't just end when you turn 18 or when you turn 21. it's going to end dozens of times over. your childhood pet will die. actors you loved in movies you watched as a kid will die. your grandparents will die, and then your parents will die. it's going to end dozens and dozens of times and all you can do is let it. all you can do is stand in the middle of the grocery store and stare at freezers full of microwave pizza because you've suddenly been seized by the memory of what it felt like to have a pizza party on the last day of school before summer break. which is another ending in and of itself

Chapter 2 is here
It's a bit shorter than I liked it to be, but I was fighting through constant migraines and suffering from a 40°c heat whilst writing, so I'll give myself some slack. 😭
What's new:
Chapter 2 (of course)
Sisterly things
A reunion! How fun
Talking. Lot's of it. 😰
If you find any bugs/grammar mistakes, please don't hesitate to inform me so I'll get those fixed.

I have new Cantata artwork to share! I commissioned this lovely piece from my artist, Isabela Zaneti. This is the MC’s delightful adopted family: Evelyn, Jonah & Thaleia Sideris. ❤️

Full offense but your writing style is for you and nobody else. Use the words you want to use; play with language, experiment, use said, use adverbs, use “unrealistic” writing patterns, slap words you don’t even know are words on the page. Language is a sandbox and you, as the author, are at liberty to shape it however you wish. Build castles. Build a hovel. Build a mountain on a mountain or make a tiny cottage on a hill. Whatever it is you want to do. Write.

Incubus Chapter 6.5
(A small glimpse into Flea’s POV sometime between Chapter 6 and 7. For mature readers only.)
Flea usually woke first. It used to be a matter of practicality—while his ex-meal was sleeping, he could snoop around their place, see if they had anything useful just lying around; could slip into the bathroom, wash himself off in the sink, give himself fresh eyeliner if he was lucky. If they seemed like a particularly soft touch he’d push his luck and throw his clothes in their washing machine, or risk stealing a new pair of socks from the bottom of a drawer.
Now was different. Flea would wake first and, instead of hurrying out of bed, he’d linger. He’d turn slowly, silent against the sheets, and watch the detective’s face in the faint pre-dawn light, gauging how long he had until their eyes would flutter open. He’d place a hand in the space between him and them, splay his fingers, and wonder since when distance had become something he no longer cherished.
This morning the detective’s brow was wrinkled, their face drawn in the faint distress of an unseen dream. Without thinking, Flea’s hand closed the gap between them. He brushed their forehead with his fingertips, rubbing gently between their eyes.
“Shhh,” he murmured. “No nightmares allowed.”
A pained sound escaped the detective’s throat, then their face went slack. Flea withdrew slowly, tucking his hand back against himself, on his side of the bed. He blinked, then rubbed his eyes until little fireworks were blooming under his eyelids.
You’re cooked, man. His toes curled. You’re fucked.
Until Chapter 7...

The point of officially naming a pet is not to actually use that name but to have a baseline from which to come up with every conceivable nickname to call them instead.

CoGdemos Important Information
For all authors and readers, if you can't access the game using the link and see this message instead:
It's because CoGdemos has updated the URL format for all games.
The correct link format now is:
https:// cogdemos.ink/play/author/game-title/mygame
Previously, it was "https:// cogdemos.ink/play/author/game-title", without "mygame".
If you are the author: You'll need to update the links for your content, especially for content with closed access, since short URLs only work for public games.
If you are the reader: You can access the game by adding /mygame to the end of the URL if the author hasn't updated the links.
Please spread this information to other authors. I hope this will be helpful!
