Five Mile Beach along side Pittwater in Hobart, Tasmania is not your usual beach. More a shallow lagoon that is mostly calm and therefore a great place for reflective photography. The water is so clear, shooting straight down you can clearly see all the wonderful marine life scurrying along the sand. ... wear gumboots if visiting here, they'll stop the crabs from biting your toes. Discovered at Five Mile Beach, Seven Mile Beach, Australia. See more at Trover

The driftwood reminded me of a musical note! It played a gorgeous focus to this mornings sunrise at Five Mile Beach, Tasmania.

Cruising with @bayoffiresecotours to Eddystone Point brought me to this sheltered bay near the Eddystone Point Lighthouse. ...where's the lighthouse, you might be thinking? Hehe, it's behind me. I'd turned around and saw the sparkly water, blue skies, and white fluffy clouds and just said 'oh my!' 😍 #eastcoasttasmania @eastcoasttasmania #greateasterndrive #discovertasmania @tasmania #eddystonepoint #abcmyphoto #tasmania (at Eddystone Point)

It's been raining in Hobart these last couple of days. It's wonderful! There hasn't been any significant rainfall here for months. Today's rain has been steady...the kind that soaks in rather than runs off! Yay. 💦 So...I'm thinking back to two weeks ago when @loves_laughs and I were road tripping the #greateasterndrive on Tasmania's East Coast. We stopped into Honeymoon Bay at Coles Bay to get our Freycinet 'fix!' The colours here are eye popping. And on a sunny day, like the day of our visit, the blues were bluer than blue.... 💦 Well, I've photographed this tree before. It grows out of a rock platform right by the water all on its lonesome. I get drawn to this tree on each visit. Does it have a name? Does anyone know? If not, let's name it! Just like that Wanaka tree, Hinemoa, in NZ, this tree stands time testament to all the weather throws at it. It deserves a strong name. 💦 #thathoneymoonbaytree #freycinetnationalpark #colesbay #discovertasmania #eastcoasttasmania @eastcoasttasmania #seeaustralia #abcmyphoto (at Honeymoon Bay)

This is the Bicheno Blowhole, at Bicheno on Tasmania's East Coast. ... For some unfathomable reason, I'm fascinated by blowholes. I'm sure if I had counselling for this 'affliction' there'd be reasons of childhood wonder and fantasy involved in the results. 😂 Needless to say, on our #greateasterndrive road trip over the last couple of days @loves_laughs who is equally fascinated with blowholes, ( such a bad combination, two blowies in one car!!!!!) and I went three times to visit this tourist drawcard. 👯 I've seen photos of the blowhole really blowing hugely. Water spray everywhere. Alas, it was acting very shyly on our visits. It's interesting observing visitors here, each waits patiently, often cameras at ready, for that spectacular spray of water...then patience runs out after about a 5 mins elapsed time, then as they turn, BOOM, there she blows! 😂 Around the blowhole is an amazing coastline of lichen red/orange coloured boulders. Rock hopping along here is easy and for me it brings back that adventurous childhood streak of discovering what's around, under and in every rock and pool. 💦 @tasmania #discovertasmania @eastcoasttasmania #eastcoasttasmania @australia #seeaustralia #bicheno #blowhole #abcmyphoto (at Bicheno Blowhole)
