ok I FINALLY saw Dunkirk and wow...your girl was right!!!

I literally can’t believe what some of you are saying…do you know who Christopher Nolan IS?? he directed Inception, Interstellar, The Dark Knight, The Prestige and so many other incredible and, most importantly, box- office breaking movies

the man has credentials, experience, and skill. his casts are ALWAYS top notch. look at some of the stars of the movies I listed: Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale, Matthew McConaughey, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Heath Ledger, Tom Hardy…these people are incredibly famous, and are great actors. even looking at Dunkirk, you have Tom Hardy and KENNETH BRANNAGH, one of the most respected, seasoned actors in Hollywood

I’m telling you, as a film buff and someone who studies these things, that Christopher Nolan doesn’t NEED Harry’s name to get promo for his movies. he already has credibility and literally so many of his past films are still talked about today. if anything, Harry’s name actually brings credibility of the film DOWN. this is coming from someone who loves harry; many self- righteous 30- something men who are Nolan fans are going to see Harry’s name and say “Harry Styles? that One Direction guy? WHAT is Nolan thinking?!?!” and snootily turn their noses away

but Nolan doesn’t care because 1) he has enough money and knows that a lot of people will see his movie regardless, and 2) he knows Harry is a good actor. I trust Nolan’s instincts: he’s had mainly brilliant casts in the past. he likes to take risks with casting (McConaughey as the lead in Interstellar, Ledger as the Joker) and they ALWAYS pay off. stop stating that Harry was chosen on a name- only basis. it’s an insult to Nolan’s past success and skill as a director as well as Harry’s acting abilities which you have no basis to deny. just stop

ahhh so i follow you and it's so cool you want to make teen shows bc i'm studying communications and while i love pr i'm getting super into screenwriting & video editing the more i study it... my senior project next year will probably be a like really low budget, college student cast tv show season any way i'm super excited and curious like, do you like the filming or the directing or the writing or what??

I'm so excited for you & you should feel really proud of yourself :)and I'm primarily interested in writing, but for my teen shows I think I'd like to direct them as well (I want to write a few teen movies as well but I don't want to direct them)also if you mean that you're going to be a senior in high school, I'd really recommend writing down a lot of your experience in a diary because it can come in handy when writing teen projects later on! the most useful thing I ever did was write down what I heard when I walk through the halls between class. it just helps to add to the authenticity of shows I think

I hate the "it's just a fic" argument. it doesn't matter if you like something in a fic but don't like it irl, because you still LIKE IT. why? if you think something is awful and gross irl, then why do you like it in fic? it really astounds me. and the way people on this site attack others for criticizing the way abuse is justified in fic. realize what you're doing/writing is wrong and move on, thanks

as some of you know, I want to write teen shows after I graduate college. so I decided to make a blog dedicated to that, @theroguecut !
