Samson was fully responsible for his disobedience, but God in His providence, despite Samson's failure, used him to bring deliverance to the Israelites.

Focus on God, not on stopping to sin.

I think we often (i can attest to this) use words such as "I will no longer sin" or "I will stop gossiping" or "I will no longer xyz". But I think there is a better thought. Rather than putting energy into 'sin' and putting that thought into your mind, I challenge you to change your internal monologue. Start to say "I want to be like Jesus Christ" or "I will keep close to God". That way you are focusing and putting energy on the Lord, rather than on stopping to sin. Because change starts from within, let the Lord change your internal monologue.

Jesus died for our sins, do not let them rule your life.

We are sinful creatures, but we can achieve all things through Christ and the Holy Spirit within us.

dating apps + social media

hey guys! so this one will be personal but I pray this reaches the people who need to see this. Sorry this is so long… As always God-bless!

Anything that takes you further away from God is not meant to be in your life and it is definitely not from God.

I have come to the conclusion social media is evil. Now i do not think it is inherently evil and obviously it depends on what you consume but the endless scrolling and temptation cannot be good. I realised first hand recently that whilst scrolling for longer than usual I fell back into some old habits which I wanted to avoid and it made me lazy honestly.

In my mind dating apps are a kind of social media. I went on it with pure intentions since I wanted a boyfriend. As we all do. Sadly, I was prioritising a bf rather than my relationship with God. And anything that brings you further from God is not meant to be in your life and is definitely not something God intends for you.

Now I do not completely regret going on it. I think it made me face some uncomfortable truths I have been hiding for years. But it is not something I would recommend for my fellow Christian brothers and sisters. Now I am fully aware there are many success stories from dating apps but these are my own personal experiences so bear with me :)

I saw it happen to my friends but it happened to me too. The slippery slope of idolising relationships and basing your self worth on how many likes you get. And of course the apps are made in a way to be rooting against you, in order to make you pay for premium or to keep you on it. Why would an app which is meant to profit from us want us to instantly find love and thus leave it with less users?

For me it started with extreme excitement. Growing up and not receiving much/any roman attention definitely did a number on my self confidence. So when I finally joined an app that meant I got likes from guys I was suddenly shocked and started to crave it. After going on several dates with several different archetypes of guys I can tell you that if you do not heal yourself a relationship cannot heal you. Only a relationship with God can. No human can heal you. Certain dates triggered certain emotions from my past and certain recurring beliefs but I realise I am not to blame nor are the guys. Since everyone is in the same machine trying to win the odds.

i am not saying people on dating apps are bad or that you cannot find nice people on them. do not get me wrong i do not want to offend anyone. What i want to do is bring awareness to certain issues. You always think ah surely it won’t happen to me, until it happens to you.

I have to admit the moment I got off dating apps I felt better. I was scared first scared of letting go potential. That was the issue. That’s how they get you. The seemingly “endless potential” that has actually just left countless of my friends hurt and sad.

I know personally I went on dating apps when I started to feel slightly jealous of my friends who were in happy relationships. I kept thinking oh what do they have that I don’t? What have they done that I haven’t to deserve this? Which I pray that God removes this evil from my mind. This brings me back to my social media point since constantly seeing only the happy side of couples online and seeing men buy their gf dozens of roses and gold and porsches i mean everything definitely does not help anyone.

Another thing I realised which may be personal are bad boys are not it. Growing up and playing episode games and reading stories I should not have been reading made me subconsciously crave a ‘bad boy’ someone who would do anything and i mean anything for me. What i realised after encountering guys like this is that they are not like what I read about that’s for sure. A partner should bring you peace not fear.

Additionally another thing I learnt was that not every Christian guy is the one for me. Maybe this sounds a bit silly and obvious but when I first went out with a Christian guy i really wanted it to work because i thought ooh finally God has given me my man. But i know that’s not how it works. Many times I would jump the gun a little and just eh ready to settle but i am endlessly grateful that God stopped me and recalibrated my path. He said nope not this one my child.

I think, something for my fellow lover girls, it’s so easy and natural to think the best every time. To think okay this time will be different and this guy will be different and so it’ll work out. And i never want to stop being positive, i think positivity is a power. But i had to stop myself since i would let positivity turn into delusion and avoid blaring red flags. This is why it is sooo important to talk to God and to your trusted friends and family. We do not always see what is in front of us simply because we do not want to.

This world makes us want to rush everything. To rush intimacy and to rush love. But that is wrong. Love is not the rushed intimacy or the fake relief. Love is not one night stands. Love is not a man you meet once who treats you with the bare minimum. Love is not a man who won’t show up for you. Love does not leave you confused. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

True love and self worth comes from Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ alone. Anything that takes you further away from God is not meant to be in your life and it is definitely not from God.

I pray for everyone to find God and love for themselves. I do believe that there is someone for everyone and that at the right time God will provide. When I am the right person and when my future husband will be the right person that is when we shall meet. All this pain will be worth it. But for now I just want to share my thoughts and if anyone has any interesting thoughts please do share and let me know! I would love to hear some fellow ideas on this topic.

hi guys! sorry i’ve wanted to write a little message for a while now but I apologise for my lack of content. I have been struggling recently for various different reasons and falling into old habits and sins. But today I started journaling and instantly feel the Holy Spirit within me firing some truths and facts I was not prepared to hear. I have ideas on blogs to write so I will be more active from now on. I just wanted to be truthful since we all struggle. We all fall short of God’s grace, truly we do not deserve it. But it is grace. God is good and He forgives us. He forgives you. No matter what you’re struggling with right now give it to God and watch him renew your heart.
