Please Help My Friend Get Food
Posting for help on behalf of my friend C (original tweet here). They don’t have a tumblr and their post has not gained traction. They need help to get groceries and other essentials. C is a trans Afro-Latine who has been struggling since being disowned by their family. Anything would help as they have not eaten in days. If you can assist, please send to their Vnmo as their CA has been compromised:

Reasons Why I Hate Zvtara, In No Particular Order
It’s so, so, so basic. Please, can we move on from the Hero Girl x Villain Boy/Good Girl x Bad Boy ships? They’re done to death by now, and I’m really tired of them.
Zuko and Katara are similar in the worst ways. They both have volatile tempers and cases of extreme stubbornness, and any long-term romance between them is likely to end with explosions and tears.
There’s nary a hint of romantic tension between the two in the actual show. In fact, there’s only five episodes (yes, I counted) where Zuko doesn’t see Katara as an obstacle, and where Katara doesn’t hate Zuko’s guts. I prefer ships with a good, solid foundation in canon, or with an interesting enough pairing to warrant any deviations. Zvtara has neither.
The pairing puts Katara with the ruler of a nation that destroyed her home and her culture. She would not like that.
Zk shippers mischaracterize both of the people involved. They cast Zuko as the sexy, brooding bad boy, or the soft UwU abuse victim with zero (0) flaws, or as a combination of the two. And they cast Katara as the sweet, innocent damsel in distress who needs saving from evil abusive incel r*pist Aang, which leads into my next point,
Zk shippers demonize everyone who gets in the way of their tOtAlLy cAnOn ship. According to them, Aang is (as previously mentioned) an evil abusive incel r*pist who feels entitled to Katara. He’s literally twelve/thirteen years old, calm down. Also according to them, Mai is a toxic jealous bitch who is the only reason Zuko’s redemption arc didn’t happen sooner so he could end up with Katara. Mai was one of the two people who unconditionally loved Zuko throughout all his emotional and moral turmoil, and yet Zks conveniently ignore this. (It’s almost like the ship has so little basis in canon that the shippers have to turn everyone into completely different people to make it even remotely plausible, go figure)
Many Zk shippers seem to be projecting themselves onto Katara. This is why y/n exists, guys, stop turning someone else into a hotter version of you.
Zk shippers sexualize both Zuko and Katara, but especially Katara. They 👏 are 👏 traumatized 👏 children. It’s frankly gross how much these two are thought of as having an ultra-sexy adult relationship with each other. Also, Katara is fourteen. Please stop sexualizing young brown girls.
The canon ships are just… way more appealing to me. Kataang? Adorable. Sukka? Wonderful. Maiko? Smart, sweet, and sarcastic (and my comfort ship). Even non-canon ships like Toko, Azulaang, and Maikka have so much potential. Zvtara is fairly bland, and yet zks are raging about how it is absolutely canon and you (specifically) are wrong for not shipping it. It’s a crack pairing at best, and it’s not worth tearing down other people’s ships for.
Avatar: The Last Airbender is not a vessel for Zvtara, so stop treating it like it is
Thanks for reading my post. I’m going to bed now. Good night Tri State Area.

Hey everybody, I need some help. My beloved cat 12-year-old cat Joe had a seizure in the middle of the night. My uncle and I were able to scrape together enough to have him get to an ER and stabilized. He was my mom's cat and one of the few things of hers I have left.
Not asking for $$ to recoup the vet bills, but for help getting food/litter for us and our two cats so we can survive until next week. Setting a goal of about $275. Paypal: http://paypal.me/em32190. Venmo: @Erin-Wright-25. Pls help if you can by donating and/or boosting this post. Thanks so much!

Kataang Week, Day 8: Free Day!
Lookin' Good! I am a sucker for these two wearing the clothes of the other's nation, and the amazing @kittykichi obliged me with this wonderful commission of Aang in SWT gear and Katara in Air Nomad attire based on Pema's outfit from TLOK. I love these two little beans ;_;
Thank you to @kataang-week for another awesome week(plus!) of the best ship in ATLA. Until next year!

Kataang Week, Day 5: Power Couple
Eff Around and Find Out: Remember that whole "Looks like a cinnamon roll, but could actually kill you" meme? Yeah, double that!
Done on commission for @kataang-week by the incredible @hippano! As always, thank you so much for the wonderful art!!!!
[Image Description: Digital artwork of Aang and Katara as adults. Aang has a beard and is dressed in non-formal Air Nomad attire. Katara is dressed in a Water Tribe dress, with arm bandages and her grandmother's betrothal necklace. They are both facing out toward the viewer, smiling, as Katara waterbends and Aang airbends. The water fills up the lower part of the screen and it looks as if Aang and Katara are bending their elements right at the viewer. /end ID]

Why is there so much anger when a person says they don't like Azula? She is supposed to be a (the) villain? She killed the protagonist? She attempted to kill others? Why is this controversial?
I'm 15 so I understand the idea that she's a minor and everything and that Ozai emotionally abused her and her mother abandoning her didn't help. Mai was also emotionally abused though by her parents and didn't kill Aang? I'm confused by the huge pushback I get when I just mention I don't particularly care for Azula.
Okay, so this is an interesting ask, anon. I'll try my best to answer it, but as I've never ventured into that side of discourse before, take this with a grain of salt.
Now, before I answer this, I'll have to establish where I'm coming from. Personally, I appreciate Azula as a character, but she's not my favorite - not by a long shot. And as far as I'm aware, my fandom friends are also not that fond of her either. Thus, I'm giving my opinion based on my own understanding of Azula and how fandom tends to act around characters like hers.
I think a lot of people enjoy Azula's character because - and you've mentioned it yourself - she's a villain, yes, but she's a tragic villain who could've turned out differently had her childhood had gone a different path. I think that's one of the main things we, the audience, see when we learn about Azula's backstory: if just one thing had changed back then, would she have turned out the way she had in the show? It doesn't excuse all the atrocities she committed in the show, but that tragedy makes her sympathetic to the audience and establishes her as a complex character - not that Mai isn't complex, but I'll give my thoughts on why Azula is hailed while Mai is often pushed to the side.
Another reason why I think people like her is that they might also find themselves relating to certain parts of her childhood, while not necessarily relating to her character in the show - a few examples I can think of is the pressure to constantly strive for perfection, yearning for attention from a parent who always seemed to favor another child (and I say "seemed" because I don't believe Ursa willingly abandoned her to favor Zuko - I just don't think she had the power to reach Azula when Ozai was most likely abusing Ursa as well) - there might be more that I'm missing. Every kid has probably gone through those things at some point - why wouldn't she be relatable?
Now, with that aside, I think that the people you encountered didn't just appreciate Azula, but are active Azula stans. And to understand why that's the case, I think this issue is very similar to the fandom issue with Zuko and Aang.
Just as Zuko's redemption arc overshadows Aang's flat arc in many fans' minds, I think Azula's history of abuse overshadows everyone else's that's not Zuko, most notably Mai. A part of it could be that Azula's story is more at the forefront of the show, since her story overlaps with Zuko's, but it could also be the way Mai, for example, deals with her own trauma: she puts on an unfeeling mask and acts cold and dark. Because of that, it's easier for fandom to collapse Mai into a one-dimensional character and label her as "an emo." With Azula, however, it's harder to do so, making her "more complex" than Mai. The attention to her character could also be because she comes from the same abusive family as Zuko did - and we all know how fandom treats Zuko.
Ultimately, though, I think that the reason why fandom treats Azula so well at the expense of someone like Mai is the same as why fandom treats Zuko so well at the expense of someone like Aang - because they're complex characters, and that complexity is a lot more noticeable in fans' minds than it is for Aang or Mai. Thus, in their minds, it doesn't matter what atrocities they have committed - they're complex and that's all they care about. And because of that reverence for that certain complexity, they'll push back on anyone who doesn't particularly enjoy them.
However, that's just my thoughts. Again, I've never ventured into that corner of discourse, and I personally also find it pretty baffling that people love Azula so much.
Hope this helped!

Why were you so rude to zuko-always-lies? They've written numerous times how much they dislike zutara, how many zutara fics demean every other character, how Zuko's whole narrative is cheap and wish fulfilling, how the narrative saves Zuko from any form of genuine consequences, etc. Their post wasn't even insulting to Kataang. Even if it was, why do you need to be verbally abusive? Also mutuals will defend each other. That's natural when someone makes accusations and then says 'fuck off'.
I didn't know this person from a hole in my ass. As someone else said later, their bullshit anti-Kataang post, and don't kid yourself my guy, it was anti-Kataang, was similar to the bullshit that Zuko-loving garbagefucks put out on a regular basis. I made a mistake. If that person had been like "Yo, I'm actually not like that," then it would have been fine, but they got their little piss squad to say stupid shit to me.
Also, maybe simmer down, anon. Neither you or anyone else gets to get on my ass about being "verbally abusive" when I'm being called a bitch over a mistake. Quiet.

There is so much racism in the Avatar Last Airbender fandom. Virulent racism and colonizer dick-sucking in a piece of media where there are NO WHITE PEOPLE. It boggles my mind sometimes, man!
