ok so i need to talk about sparkbird / stephan nance for a minute because I genuinely have been listening to their discography on loop for the past [checks watch] two weeks:???? three??? maybe??? A Decently Long Time so im going to spill my thoughts with no rhyme nor reason

i love listening to sparkbird on loop bc their lyrics are beautifully captivating and they make me cry. you could listen to it on loop for ages with the meaning not really clicking and then Bam !! it all falls into place!! "i UNDERSTAND now!!" its beautiful,,.

my favourites are probably all from a troubled piece of fruit or the more recent singles, but i love alllll of them genuinely . currently listening to One-Way Sea a lot because it's just so raw. I think it's really difficult to get emotion across effectively (<singer, i don't write though) but the way the song is sung is ... ough. I can tell how emotional the singer is, they're practically wading through a metaphorical bog

enamoured by this post bc the most common argument against immortality is the fact that you will watch your friends die, your family die, your people die, your culture and community die, your world die

but the other way around?

you are surrounded by people who don't care to count the years anymore but you can feel yourself wasting away. your hair is greying, your organs are failing, your thoughts are slowing. you wont be remembered by anyone who you are truly important to. you are just a blip in their memory. you met for the equivalent of perhaps a month, at most. you were acquainted. you are not important because, when you live so long, you forget those people who did not last as long as they could.

so how do you stop it? how do you keep it going? it has to keep going.

Ok so, new Mumbo episode. Mumbo is not aging BECAUSE of the weird science stuff, the weird science stuff is happening because he's aging normally and he wants to stop It and live forever.

Mumbo is just aging normally... Mumbo's the only one in Hermitcraft aging. Every other Hermit is canonically immortal.

In honour of the new year, decided to do a doodle for one of my favourite fanfics, @whattimeisitfic ! I've drawn Clarient before, though this isn't exactly a redraw, and I'm proud to say I'm probably the only fan of this man ever. he gets an alt outfit <3

THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS

the moment i saw this post i knew i had to make it reality. my demonology nerd ass just had to do them so i speedran it today. design notes below the cut :> the close ups arent good quality because theyre just screenshots but deal with it

GRIAN - PRIDE

I wanted to use a mix of reds and purples, playing off his colour scheme ft. the watchers

Lucifer represents Pride, so I gave him a big ol snake, apples and a generally royal look

His halo is supposed to also represent the sun

I wanted to make him look the most powerful - he is presented deity-like normally, so I just doubled it and ran with it. And also again Luci links.

I FUCKING LOVE HIS FACE the shadow is Always There :>

he does have little starry dots in his cloak ! i wanted to do bigger ones but i got distracted

the grey heart reflects the one he gave to scar in 3l

CLEO - WRATH

The jester hat is because of her win in Real Life

She has horns and bigger ears, but they aint particularly visible here >.>

I probably struggled with her the most since I've never drawn her b4!! but it was fun!! pls if anyone has better ideas for her i beg please

SCAR - GREED

I had SO MUCH fun with him no joke iuwrhfi

His chains represent the obligations of greed - how it ties you down, similar to that one guy in the christmas carol

His wings and tail vaguely resemble my vex design for him. they're green now.

I mixed together the sunflowers and poppies on his outfit because I thought he'd do that

He has two crowns because they declared 3rd life a double win, and because it connects to Greed :>

JOEL - LUST

i had loads of fun with joel too ngl, even if there aren't as many details!!

his version of the crown is a lil love heart :>

his horns have lil flamey tips

SCOTT - SLOTH

i had fun with him too!!

i wanted to use a mix of sharp and soft angles, as I was leaning into the sloth part (chilled, relaxed) in this specific full

his 'wings' are lil star things too!

his cloak also has the same starry thing as grian, and is small for the same reasons

only one crown, as he declared DL a win for pearl (not for himself)

PEARL - ENVY

green eyes - "green eyed monster" thank you shakespeare

holding an apple, symbolising her envy (temptation)

also has a cross over her heart, and she grasps towards it, similarly representing her envy and the whole divorce thing that happened in DL

a wolf!! with many tails!! because double life!!

the eyes representing her wl skin wasn't intentional but it did work out like that lmao

anyway uh i really hope this doesnt flop

Aight for the few Lucifer fans in the chat who were wondering where Lucifer's sigil comes from (featured in the back of Mastermind, on the door);

This (which you may notice is similar to the sigils of the other sins and Ars Goetia) is sourced from the Grimorium Verum, which is a Grimoire claiming to be written in the 15th century but more likely to have been written and released sometime in the 18th century. It provides the following full sigil for Lucifer;

Spindlehorse uses the middle-right image and places it in a format similar to what has been used in the Ars Goetian sigils and just like what the other Sins have been shown to have (they appear around the sets and in the thumbnails of Ozzie's and Queen Bee).

It's curious to me because, so far as I can recall, he has only ever been associated with the pentagram before. He has so many sigils and symbols now I am confused. But this is the first thing that shows up for Lucifer when looking at Ars Goetian sigils and such, so it does make sense.

Now, I haven't actually read the Grimorium, but I spotted this amazing description of Lucifer in the PDF I pulled up for reference and I want to bless the world with seeing it;
