I know I've said it before but every rewatch I do cements this thought further - elijah wood's performance in LOTR is absolutely insane, they really had a character whose name means "wise by experience", hired an 18-year-old to do it, and he delivered so much that not only is it a beautiful and moving role on its own, it's a performance equal to those of the absolute powerhouses he played side by side with like ian holm and ian mckellen. to name just a few

saw this on instagram (yes, instagram) and i can’t stop thinking about steve recognising eddie at a bakery and immediately falling in love with the guy he kinda had a thing for in high school but never allowed himself to think about too much. like, he’s always had eddie in the back of his mind since finishing school but suddenly seeing him has him all heart eyes and also kind of surprised with what eddie ended up doing with his life. idk, you can think about the statistics, i’m not a writer (please someone write something and tag me 🙏) but THIS will be in my head all day at work

People who hate Frodo Baggins are my enemy. "He didn't do anything and was useless"--yeah, okay, so what you're not understanding is that he was the sacrificial lamb. He endured physical, mental, and emotional torment that got worse and worse as his will broke. Everyone knew this. EVERYONE KNEW THIS. That's why everyone was devastated about it. Because Frodo was the most innocent among them, that was the entire point. He represented ordinary peaceful people being destroyed by the horrors of war. And as a hobbit he also represented some of the last vestiges of magic in what was basically a post magic apocalypse.

Frodo was basically an innocent puppy thrown into the Torment Nexus so that EVERYONE ELSE could maybe have a hope of surviving. And he did that willingly. HE DID IT OF HIS OWN FREE WILL, KNOWING IT WOULD RUIN HIM.

Gotta imagine the whiplash for Eddie when Buck introduced him to Carla. For a moment there Eddie was so disappointed and annoyed at the idea Buck would set him up on a date, and then a second later he’s floored by Buck truly knowing what Eddie actually wants and needs, and going out of his way to help him.

“You don’t know me at all if you think I want a date” turned instantly into “You know me so well that you’ve made my biggest priority your own” and it’s only been days or at most a few weeks since they met.

i've been rewatching stranger things season three and drowning in stobin feels, as one does, and one thing that's very important to me is that steve's crush on robin is real. he's not projecting or misinterpreting his own feelings; he really was into her for real. and i feel like treating it like it's not that kind of takes away from the beautiful moment between them in the bathroom at starcourt. steve's speech to her is closer than a love confession than anything else, and watching robin react to it is agonizing. because she likes him. she really does. and who among us has not had a man we liked express romantic interest only to turn on a dime into cruelty the moment it became clear that he wouldn't get what he wanted?

that's why it's so, so important to me that steve actually meant what he said, and he still took the rejection on the chin, and immediately pivoted to teasing her and making her laugh and proving that he still loved her, for her, even if she was never going to want him back in the same way
