Man, we all talk about how horrible Marc’s mother is and yeah obviously but what about his father?

That man could’ve done more and I hate that he didn’t. We only see glimpses, but I don’t care that he was the one to still celebrate Marc’s birthday. I don’t care about the cake or the presents or the fact that yeah, maybe he did try to coax Marc’s mom out of her room to celebrate every once in awhile.

Marc’s father was there when his mother blamed him for a child’s death, on his birthday no less. He let her scream at him, chase him up the stairs and beat him with a belt. You can’t tell me he didn’t see this tragedy unfolding in his own house. I don’t blame Marc at all for leaving so young, what choice did they give him?

Marc, son, please come inside! She will get help, we will fix this!

You’re supposed to fix this! I mean, why haven’t you?

I cannot lose another son. Please.

GOD AND TO SAY THAT, to try and make Marc feel like he’s obligated to stay and be abused so that his FATHER, the one that is supposed to PROTECT HIM, doesn’t feel hurt? Doesn’t have to address the part he plays in losing another child?

That man was complacent and did the bare minimum, and that makes him just as horrible.
